Horses are able to discriminate between human odors produced in times of fear and joy, researchers in France report.
The findings, reported in the journal Scientific Reports, indicate that smell can be added to hearing and vision as senses through which horses can perceive human emotions.

My younger sister can smell stress, e.g. she can tell when an exam had taken place in a classroom because it has the smell of anxious humans. I don’t have this superpower, but I also notice that my body odor smells different after a very stressful encounter. Makes sense that animals with better sense of smell can also pick the difference up!
Yeah, I think most people can probably tell that their own odor changes…pretty sure I could not tell if I walked in a room though, so that is a superpower.
Not surprised by this at all. Animals have many more (sensory and otherwise) skills than we humans give them credit for.
Yep.
