French niche line Parfums MDCI has launched La Ravissante, a new floral fragrance for women in the art-inspired Painters and Perfumers collection.
La Ravissante is inspired by the lovely portrait of Mrs. Récamier, painted in 1805 by François Gérard, one of the most iconic treasures of the Musée Carnavalet in Paris.
La Ravissante was developed by perfumer Bertrand Duchaufour. The notes include starfruit, nashi, pomegranate, pink pepper, caviar lemon, honeysuckle, osmanthus, jasmine, magnolia, ozonic notes, sandalwood, driftwood, white musk, marshmallow and vanilla.
Parfums MDCI La Ravissante is available now at Luckyscent, $250 for 75 ml Eau de Parfum.

The description of the notes included “caviar lemon” which was a new one to me, so I had to go look it up. It’s a unique fruit native to Australia and looks really unusual and sounds interesting. It’s now grown in the US and is very expensive. It can taste like lemon, lime, and/or grapefruit. Now we know. How does it smell, though? Hmmm. Interesting. Looks like a lime flavoured pomegranate? They grow up north here, and I read that they plant them near lavender and Manuka to attract the bees, and add flavour…so lime with a hint of lavender. Curious about the perfume now.
Thanks for the link, Calypso. Those are beautiful! I would love to try one someday.
Finger limes sometimes turn up at farmers markets here in Southern California. They are lovely, although the first time I bought some I expected to be able to juice them–not ideal!
Thanks!
