French fashion and luxury house Celine has launched Bois Dormant, a new unisex addition to the Celine Haute Parfumerie Collection.
Bois Dormant evokes the luxurious comfort and understated classic architecture of the English double-breasted flannel blazer that Hedi Slimane has consistently designed throughout his life as a couturier.
The day twin of Black Tie, this delicate woody fragrance is underscored with the bleached accents of powdery cologne.
The notes include bergamot, juniper, orris, cedar and vetiver.
Celine Bois Dormant is available in 100 and 200 ml Eau de Parfum. It is currently available at a Celine pop up at Samaritaine in Paris, and will go into wider distribution later this month.

The description in the copy seems, shall we say, loosely connected to the name of the fragrance. Bois Dormant brings to mind Sleeping Beauty (doesn’t it?), but not double-breasted blazers or black tie. Maybe the working title stuck. Nothing wrong with the notes listed per se — I just wasn’t expecting them.
The scent makes a little more sense after reading the copy for Black Tie (linked above)…this does sound like a day version of that. But that doesn’t make either perfume name make sense.
Well, my brain has now twice omitted the “Bois” in the name and read this entry as an announcement of a new perfume by Celine Dion.
