L’Artisan Parfumeur 33 Abyssae ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 4 July 2022 5 Comments

L’Artisan Parfumeur has launched 33 Abyssae, a new woody aromatic addition to the La Botanique collection (formerly known as Natura Fabularis). As with the others in the series, 33 Abyssae was developed by perfumer Daphné Bugey, and the number represents the number of trials before the final formula.

La Botanique uncovers the secrets of a magical nature that awakens at dusk. With Abyssae, Daphné Bugey pens the seventh* signature scent of this dreamlike collection. Dive into the very heart of the abyss and discover new hidden treasures. This new Eau de Parfum reveals its soothing powers. Carried by the gentle breath of eucalyptus, the softness of a rose gently held with cashmeran, unfolds in its trail.

Additional notes include fig tree.

L’Artisan Parfumeur 33 Abyssae is available in 75 Eau de Parfum, $245.

* Note that if I am counting correctly, there have been 9 launches, but 2 (Violaceum 2 and Glacialis Terra 18) are now discontinued.

I love how having fig is no longer enough that they list a whole tree in the notes 😂

Since fig trees & their leaves smell very earthy/woody & totally different to the fruit they produce, if they just listed ‘fig’ they would probably have people moaning that it didn’t smell very ‘figgy’.

I love the smell of eucalyptus, but am wary of it in a perfume. It’s very … eucalyptus.

True, but more often I don’t notice it when it’s listed…I think they often use fractions, similar to what they do with patchouli.
