It’s the weekend, and the swapmeet is open (and the spring reading poll will be coming up next weekend). We're relaxing with our usual open thread poll. Talk about anything you like — the fragrance you’re wearing today, the fragrance you'd most love to find in the swapmeet, whatever.
Or, ask a question about fragrance, then see if anyone else has asked a question that you can answer…

I have been posting about splitting Iris Ganache this weekend and just realized I had the Swapmeet and Splitmeet dates swapped (pun intended) in my head.? I shall do this split in May…have to rummage through the Closet of Shame for the Swapmeet now!
I am off to a beach clean-up w/ my daughter’s Brownie troop this morning and shall wear Vacation.?
Oooo I’m keeping my eye peeled for this split! I never got to try Iris Ganache. ? Enjoy your day!
Interested in this split, too!
Count me in!
I hope the beach clean up was fun!
She-ra, if you want to post your email address maybe you already have enough people and you don’t have to wait for the splitmeet? Seeing as how you’ve already got interested parties 😉
Interested in the split, too!
I’m interested as well ?
I will keep my eye out for this!
Hello all-
Just came back yesterday from a week upstate. Had a great time outdoors and did lots of horseback riding.
SOTD Jo Malone Basil & Neroli for the farmers market. Chantecaille makeup for that skin glowing no makeup makeup look
Have a great day all..
Still smelling fab because my sweater is scented with yesterday’s Au Dela. I may re-spritz today.
Tomorrow is ferry day with a predicted windy crossing. I’m a bit nervous. ?
Woke up to this today: https://www.instagram.com/p/CcssNtbLL81/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Oopsie! Sorry LTSG, I posted in the wrong spot..?
What fun. I have not been on a horse in years.
Smelling great! I love Chantecaille lippies, too.
Hi everyone!
Jicky’s vet appointment went very well. This is been a tough week so at least he’s healthy!
I’m in Parure parfum, from that gorgeous parfum bottle. Someone posted it on Mercari for a reasonable amount so I pounced! I’ve mostly been getting rid of perfume so it was nice to find something if never tried before.
Have a great weekend everyone!
So glad to hear it, that’s wonderful.
I hope you have a happy weekend and can put the tough week behind you
Woke up to bright sunshine! Since my back yard is beginning to look like it ought to after sustaining some minor damage in a recent dump of very heavy snow (Snow! In Oregon! In April!), I am celebrating in many spritzes of Mediterraneo. I plan to get outside later to move a couple of big pots, check the peony supports, and at least think about cleaning the deck ? but for now am enjoying my coffee and a leftover scone.
Virtually joining you with a rose latte and a pecan-raspberry muffin…
I need to get out and do some planting. So far, not happening.
I was checking my peonies as well today! We’ve had to really stake them up over the years, but right now they are straight and tall as ever, without much buttressing. You smell great.
Centuries ago, my first husband and I owned a very old house with a very mature garden, and the peonies in that yard (they were deep red ones) didn’t require supports at all. I had no idea that peonies ever needed it and was so surprised when I planted them (deep pink ones this time) here and they flopped over so easily. Maybe it’s because they’re a different variety (?), but you’ve given me hope that these might develop some backbone, so to speak. 🙂
Hoping to find a sample of MM Terralba before I buy a bottle unsniffed lol
Just signed contracts to have my shower remodeled and my kitchen cabinets refaced. Yikes!
Will be 80 degrees here tomorrow, with a chance of “wintry mix” next Thursday :-0
Good luck on the shower and the cabinets, that sounds fun! Or will be, when it’s over 🙂
SarahN, I have a MM sample. I’d be happy to send it!
How lovely, thank you! I can be reached at sarahbneuner in gmail
I’m wearing three hefty spritzes of Ciel d’Opale, just because I needed the scent lift to get me through several hours of grading today! It’s pretty, cheerful, light and airy.
Hope you got all the grading done by now!
Grading. Blegh!
NG Bois d’Ascèse for me. Nice to have a bit of sun!
I have been wearing that one at night more often. Pretty and calming!
Relaxing with coffee (2nd cup) and toasted buttered everything bagel.
So nice to sit here & do nothing.
Would like to participate in the swapmeet but I just don’t have the energy to go thru my stuff. Maybe later.
Heading to Central Park as long as the weather holds out. The trees are really starting to bloom and it’s just so lovely to see.
SOTD: Synthetic Jungle; sadly, last remaining sprays from my last sample
Would welcome any recs for an easy-to-wear beach-y scent, not too coconut-y or sweet. Something more sophisticated but definitely beach.
If you’re in Sephora, try Replica Beach Walk. I’ve gotten compliments when wearing.
Arquiste Sydney Rock Pool is warm and salty, a little bit kelp. It does have coconut but it is not sweet, more like a lemongrass/ coconut Thai green curry than Hawaiian Tropic. Good sillage, lasts well.
L’Artisan Une Air de Bretagne.
Sitting doing nothing is the best. Nuxe body oil is beach perfect and available in the swapmeet!
Nicolai’s Eau Soleil is my favorite beachy scent.
You smell fabulous! Come to the swapmeet and there will be (decants) of Synthetic Jungle to be had 🙂
Just got an email from Jomashop that it has 50 ml bottles of Bronze Goddess for $24 . . .
Love this kind of information! Thank you – I won’t follow up on this one, though. I have and enjoy BG already.
Oh my gosh I am so tired today. I got home around midnight after a crazy work shift. At 6 am I was woken up by my son singing in the shower. Lol! When I was almost back asleep he wakes me up again to say he forgot he didn’t have to work today! Well I do! Anyway I ran my errands, going to work soon and wearing Elie Saab L’Eau Couture for a beautiful spring day! Thanks to whoever (whomever?) sent me some sun ?
I have L’Eau Couture. It is, to me, a scent for the outdoors because of it’s sweetness. I always feel I should be at a garden party wearing a pretty, floral dress. Sometimes I layer it with Kiss Me Intense to get more bitter almond instead of the sweet almond. You do smell springy!
Glad you have some sun and hope you manage to relax in it sometime!
Hope you can have some quiet this evening and go to bed early.
Hope the second work shift was not as taxing. Sounds like your happy boy singing in the shower brought the sunshine.
It’s true he did bring the sunshine! He is always so positive! I couldn’t tell you where he got it from though. Lol
Wearing one of the best cozy scents on the planet, Olfactive Studio’s Chypre Shot. Notes include coffee, tea, cardamon and saffron–but it works 🙂
It does sound quite cozy
Cap Neroli. I wanted a bit bracing today, for some reason. This is fairly herby (herbaceous is the real term…)
Busy week. Husband was gone, but I didn’t clean as intended. Went to doc. Turns out I have an infected/clogged tear duct. So…antibiotics, frequent warm compresses. And, Doc recommended eye exam sooner rather than later, so I did that yesterday. Follow up next week, at which time I’ll also get a booster shot.
With my husband back, we have returned to a much warmer thermostat setting. Sigh. We are still waiting for spring….everyone is complaining.
Oh, and I need to be way more diligent about ensuring all eye makeup is removed. And tossing mascara earlier (avoiding waterproof). Will clean my eye pencil sharpener thoroughly and sharpen any pencils I have to remove top layers. Eye doctor recommended OcuSoft lid scrubs for removing eye makeup. I need to look around to see if I still have a box.
Do you have any tips for cleaning an eyeliner sharpener?
I hope your eye gets better soon!
I’d try a qtip and rubbing alcohol on the sharpener blade … before and after sharpening the pencil. But I’m kinda manic about eye stuff. ?
I have frequent clogged tear ducts. I find that the frequent compresses have become a regular part of my skin care. It sure can be uncomfortable. Cap Neroli is lovely.
Thanks. I think this will become a routine for me too.
In my last drops of my travel spray of Hermes Brin de Reglisse. I really enjoyed this scent while it lasted.
Just back from running errands. Everywhere is so crowded and the traffic a bit insane in my area for the weekend. Glad I am back home and now drinking my third cup of coffee. Easter candies on sale are almost gone. I grabbed a bag of Dunkin coffee flavor variety jelly beans. Not a fan of jelly beans, but just curious about the coffee ones.
The rest of the afternoon will be for cleaning and organizing some stuff. It will be a very busy weekend at home.
Cloudy, but pleasant day outside. I think the sun went to stay with Lillyjo this weekend! ?
Happy and healthy weekend, everyone! ?
“Enjoy it While it Lasts” should be the motto of Hermes perfumes!
I agree! ?
Now I am likewise curious about coffee jelly beans. Luckily the easter candy seems to have been wiped out everywhere near me — was actually wondering if there had been shortages, have never seen such slim pickings post-Easter.
The iced coffee jelly beans are very tasty, but super sweet! I won’t buy them again in the future.
In my area the Easter candy selection this year was also very poor. I definitely blame it to shortages. Whatever little is left is so plain and boring that I doubt it gets completely sold, even at 70% off. Except for the jelly beans, I was not tempted by anything else.
Good to know. I did not try Target this year, and that is usually where I found the best selection.
Still basking in the glow of yesterday’s accomplishment: getting my taxes done, by a real, live accountant. The referral from a friend was spot on, with fast, courteous, and reasonably-priced service, and I even got some extra money back from an adjustment to last year’s (diy) tax return.
Today will be devoted to the deeply important task of tackling my new mound of samples. The bonus for participating in the Bay Days beauty sale was over two dozen perfume samples. And yes, many are ones I wouldn’t normally bother to sniff, but it’s proving to be rather fun.
Yay!! Nothing beats a good tax accountant
Plus unexpected $ back! Win win.
I’m wearing my new blue birthday bottle of Do Son (a gift from myself, LOL) and enjoying a mellow, sunny Saturday. My parents called me super early this morning to wish me happy birthday, which was nice after they forgot my birthday last year.
I hope everyone has a great weekend!
Happy birthday, enjoy your new bottle.
Happy Birthday Sistine!???
Happy Birthday, sistine! Enjoy your new fragrance; (self gifts are the best)!
Happy, happy, happy birthday, Sistine! ???
Super Happy Birthday sistine!
Happy birthday!
Happy birthday, and enjoy that lovely bottle!!
Happy birthday, Sistine!
Happy Birthday – you smell SO good!
Happy birthday Sistine. I hope you have a wonderful year.
I’m happy they didn’t forget again this year. Happiest of birthdays to you! ?
Hope you had a happy day all day yesterday!
Having a raspberry, banana and yogurt smoothie for dessert tonight.
I have a poster of Shakespeare in my living room, he looks rakish.
Wore Lancaster edt concentrée during the day but now in Angel Men
Your smoothie sounds delicious!
Ditto this!
I invested in a blender and it’s made such improvement to my fruit consumption.
It is thanks to my new blender ? Christmas present to myself.
Happy Weekend everyone!!
Aaaand *thunk!!
My SOTD was the last of the last of my Phi une Rose de Kandehar!
Fortunate to have a lovely NST’er muling a fresh bottle for me very very soon, cannot wait! And also cannot wait to meet another NST’er all the way from the Northern Hemisphere!Excited!
We had a theatre list today, breaking all kinds of records with patient numbers this year!Luckily the surgeon is my favorite Wednesdays-regular-ophthalmologist,he even bought everyone pizza for lunch!
Two colleagues brought dessert:a wonderful passionfruit cake with creamcheese frosting and the other a peppermint fridge tart.Yummm.
It was a great day.
Catching up on all NST news from this past week while counting my blessings and lying snuggly in bed.The evenings are really getting chilly now
XO’s??
Happy and relaxing weekend, J B! I am so glad for your new bottle of Phi coming to you soon!?❤
Happy Sunday M!☀️☀️
?
Wow, that’s a great food-at-work day for sure, and now I want a slice of that cake!
It was delicious!
It’s actually called a “granadilla cake” over here, but you guys know it as “passionfruit”✌?
I’m glad office food sharing is coming back – so important to team spirit IMHO! And joining the perfumed cheers for your new bottle of Phi. I’m hanging on to my sample for now but the FB is in my future.
YESS to a full bottle! It’s my ultimate rose perfume.
Well, the weather forecaster was wrong in predicting rain, as today is warmish and sunny! I got a haircut early, then did a little cleaning and now laundry. I will mow the lawn later. Cazaubon and I went to Fumerie yesterday and we smelled loads of stuff–the counter was packed with bottles and blotter strips. I bought two bottles for summer, BDK Rouge Smoking and Goldfield & Banks Sunset Hour. (Donatella can’t kick me out of the club this quarter!)
So glad you had fun with Cazaubon!! And same here, predicted rain did not materialize.
Jealous of your NST meet up with Cazaubon and sniffing. And please report on the Sunset Hour if you get the chance.
Sunset Hour is a sweet fruity floral. Not outstanding in any way, but perfect for a grab-and-go, wear anywhere summer scent, which is what I wanted. The overall “feel” reminds me of California Reverie, but CR’s jasmine is dominant and Sunset Hour’s is not.
I seem to be operating one day behind over the weekend, I can smell yesterday’s perfume on my clothes and haven’t decided on today’s. Yesterday’s was Immortal Beloved from Ys Uzac.
Last night, we went out for a meal with friends and I wore Nuit de Longchamp from Lubin. It’s classic and not intrusive.
Well, I must be too…it’s Sunday night and feel like I was just getting started 🙂
I’m in Over the Chocolate Shop today. It looks sunny enough to go for a walk plus there’s no wind for a change. I may even have a few samples on the way ?
Ooh.. what is on it’s way?
I’m getting Heeley Blanc Poudre, Heeley Cardinal, Initio Side Effect, Indult Tihota and Histoires de Parfums 1969.
Sooo excites about the swapmeet!
Does anyone know if the Hera perfume sample will be available in Luckyscnent in May?
I don’t know, but Indigo Perfumery has them now. ($12 though, maybe because it’s extrait)
Thanks, Robin!
Today’s scent was Fraicheur Muskissime. Funny name, but pretty fragrance. Tomorrow I am going to wear Fracas. I have read on here that this scent is pretty strong, so it will be interesting to see what it does on my skin.
It used to be strong, no idea if the newer versions still are.
Wore Oeillet Bengale for our first truly spring day here! Let’s hope it lasts and that’s it for snow until October
Fingers crossed!!
Hi all!
I’ve been sans scent for the last week or so, as I’ve been in the garden and on walks sniffing the beautiful air. At night, I’ve been wearing Apres L’Ondee. Almost finished with my bottle, and I’m really glad I bought a back up. I noticed if I apply *A LOT* it really leaves a beautiful veil on my pajamas and sheets. It’s just gorgeous and I’ll never tire of saturating myself in it!
Have a great swapmeet weekend!
I do love AdO, and a veil of it on the sheets sounds lovely.
Can we do a Shakespeare CP? Wear a fragrance that matches a favorite line from a favorite sonnet or play?
Sotd FM Synthetic Jungle – “Was the hope drunk, wherein you dressed yourself? Hath it slept since? And wakes it now to look so GREEN and pale at what it did so freely?”
I like this cp idea, let’s do it Robin!??
What a great idea
Lovely idea, will add to list!
Wearing Serge Noire which smells like I haven’t showered for a couple weeks for the first several minutes. Lol but the dry down is mmm:).
Thou hast a good idea about the Shakespeare. Lol. I remember seeing Much Ado About Nothing at a Shakespeare festival. I went partly cause it was held near a lake shore. So..it was pretty. I wasn’t too much into it –maybe because I ended up not being enthused about the company I went with? Lol. But was an interesting experience.
Better company next time 😉
Spending this sunny Sunday morning in BV Eau Légère, an underrated beauty.
Wonder if they are still making it, or any fragrance? Been awhile.
Happy Sunday M!☀️☀️
Lol.This was actually for perfumelover67 up top…but HAPPY SUNDAY to all of you as well!
XO’s✌??☀️
Happy Sunday J B!
Thanks so much for the happy birthday wishes yesterday! It was a fabulous day. Today I’m wearing De Los Santos and tackling a mountain of grading. Oh, and I also made some pickled radishes as a distraction.
Belated Happy Birthday, sistine!
More belated Happy Birthday wishes here! I hope you had a great day yesterday.
And good luck with all that grading. Ugh! That was the worst part of being a TA in college.
Hope you had a good birthday weekend! Happy belated birthday.
Tell us more about De Los Santos when you’re done with grading!
Hello fragrant friends! I’m still commando after sleeping in VERY late. I had an extended dream about taking photographs in a beautiful city and then suddenly coming into a grand and very busy train station with many shops, among which was a counter sales place for Bond #9 which was doing a brisk business (I noted scornfully). I did a bad thing trying to walk over some train tracks and got nearly wiped out by a super fast huge train and wound up clinging to its side as it swept along–holding on for dear life. What a strange adventure! I woke up either covered or surrounded by cats–what a relief.
On the past two days I got out some Guerlain bottles and enjoyed first Sous le Vent and then Vega. Sous le Vent is unusual and beautiful. My bottles are EdT but I put on a lot (they’re the bottles with a glass stopper) and I wafted nicely about the house.
Today is sunny with clouds and I have zero plans except to cook some sort of chicken thighs recipe later for dinner, something with tomatoes. I’m not up to cooking much (can’t stand around for long) so I will make a little sauce and stick it in a pan in the oven to roast along with some chopped vegetables).
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
(Oh, and yesterday I binge-watched the last four episodes of Severance, which is a truly amazing show. It’s thought-provoking and eerie but also quite funny at times and it’s beautifully shot. I really recommend it–on Apple TV.)
What an adventure! I would have woken up drenched in sweat!
That’s really quite a dream — you even managed to work in a perfume reference!
So glad you are now able to cook at all, seriously, that’s amazing.
Busy weekend — lots of gardening ( you can see some of my roses on my Instagram account); went to a live play that was written by a friend of mine from high school (it was great!); and got my second booster shot this afternoon, to be ready for an upcoming trip to Spain and Italy. Woohoo, I can’t wait to travel overseas again!!
That sounds worth getting excited about! Would love to go to either or both.
