French niche line Parle Moi de Parfum has launched Wake Up World, a new fragrance from perfumer Michel Almairac.
It's all too easy these days to feel like the entire world has gone mad. Even fragrance, our escape from the actual problems out there, has fallen victim to outlandish and unprovable claims of life-changing benefits, planet-saving virtues, or inscrutably high-minded artistry. At the risk of sounding overly simplistic, whatever happened to just smelling great?
Well, leave it to the legendary Almairac family of perfumers to address just that with Wake Up World, an exceptionally good-smelling, long-lasting, crisply refreshing scent that's not meant to do anything at all except have everyone in the room move just a little bit closer to you to get a second sniff.
The notes include bergamot, green apple, rose, vanilla, tonka bean, ambroxan and benzoin.
Parle Moi de Parfum Wake Up World is available now at Luckyscent, $145 for 50 ml or $235 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Bergamot + green apple sounds intriguing to me. It’s a decent price. But the bottle design is so inappropriate or unappealing or something. In fact I came here to read about it because I thought it was a marijuana scent. It has the dark subtle look that a lot of CBD store items have.
I hear you on the bottle, but it has a really nice spray and a magnetized cap and looks decent, although not amazing, in person. I’’m generally a fan of their fragrances and want to try this one.
Good to know!
Glad I am not the only one! I always thought the logo looked like marijuana…
They look like scent strips to me
Interesting, I never saw the bottle that way but if you look quickly, I can see how you would make the association.
I guess I’m in the minority, but I love the smell of fresh marijuana. Opening up the new bottle is a fragrant experience I miss. I also love the trail of the smell.
Pipe tobacco. Yum. Cigarettes- nope.
I love this brand, too.
I also love the smell of fresh cannabis flower as its called in the shops here in WA. Such variety in smell can be found. My favorites to sniff have either tart, fruity notes or are piney and citrusy.
I love the pines! And the purples and berries, too.
It is called a lot of things here, lol.
Ha, same here really.
I like a few of this brand, but I’m sooo over Ambroxan.
Hear, hear!
I too thought of the marijuana leaf, and the on I have is “Mile High” so that made sense 🙂
This is basically a reconstruction of Paloma Picasso’s ‘Minotaure’ as it used to be before it was reformulated & watered down. The perfumer is the same & he seems to have restored it to what it was, as it now smells how I remember it.
