Yes, please: Fiasconaro panettone with hazelnuts for Dolce & Gabbana, "featuring Sicilian Hazelnuts with a velvety Sicilian Manna cream". I do not see this one on the US site, but they do have a pistachio with pistachio cream for $60, and I'd take that one too. (Or, shop around, you can find the panettone without the tin, the cream, or the extra branding for much less.)
The (almost) daily lemming
J'Adore, in a limited edition (1,000 were made) bottle designed by French architect India Mahdavi and handcrafted in Murano. "Each piece is a marvel of savoir-faire and modernity that welcomes J'adore eau de parfum infinissime, the composition of François Demachy: an infinitely floral and voluptuous signature, a perfect echo of the infinitely sensual and modern creation of India Mahdavi." £1,250 and possibly already sold out.
Wednesday scent of the day 12/8
Happy Hump Day and happy National Brownie Day! Birthdays: Camille Claudel, Diego Rivera, Sammy Davis Jr, Gregg Allman, Jim Morrison, Mary Gordon. What fragrance are you wearing?
I’m in the very un-Emily-Dickinson-ish Vanille Banane by Comptoir Sud Pacifique — points for clover all the same!
Reminder: on 12/10, for Emily Dickinson’s birthday, wear a fragrance with a note she mentioned in one of her poems…
Great power to protect yourself
Fragrance is an invisible cloth that allows you to do stuff you couldn’t without it. It transforms your behaviour and your mood. It’s your shining armour and it can be something that gives you great power to protect yourself when faced with the reality of the day – which can sometimes be grim. Your self-esteem can be challenged several times a day; fragrance is your barrier, your protection, your ‘invisible cloak’.
