I am always intrigued by lip scrubs, but I'm pretty sure I can't be bothered. If you are in the market, here's Lush's Trick or Treat: "Trick Or Treat? How about both? The trick to this scrubby wonder is in its ingredients. Castor sugar is a natural exfoliant that lets you scrub dry lips, while organic jojoba oil keeps them soft, soothed, and protected. And the treat? Lick off the excess when you're done scrubbing to uncover its deliciously sour lime secret." The 25g tub is $12.95.

I’ve owned lip scrubs in the past, and it is absolutely true that one can get the same exfoliating effect by using a wash- or other facial cloth on the lips.
Sure. Same is true, by and large, of body scrubs. I assume it’s mostly for the enjoyment / pampering / fun.
That’s why I bought one, but it wasn’t particularly fun and the oils went off before I finished it.
I completely disagree about body scrubs, though. I’ve been using the same one for at least 10 years and there’s nothing comparable for exfoliation, skin-softening, and cleansing without drying out my skin.
But it has an entirely functional purpose – it’s not scented and doesn’t come in a pretty package or anything fun ?
I guess my exfoliating needs are minimal…I have been using a gentle buf puf w/ shower gel for years and I can never tell the difference when I use a scrub.
But do not even tell me the name of your wonderful scrub — there is no room in my shower for more products.
Due to some medication I used to be on my lips were always dry, and even crusty in winter but I thought the notion of a lip scrub was absurd. At one point I did try make my own with sugar – according to some google recipe but it didn’t work very well. Then I bought Lush’s Cherry something lip scrub – just cos it smelled so good – and WOW! Once the dry scabby stuff rubbed off, the oils could actually moisturise and balm was actually helpful. Since I’m off those meds my lips are not so dry and I don’t bother anymore but really I was impressed!
Very good to know, thanks Merlin!
I do also like that apparently they’re edible.
Oh, well there you go then! ?
