Roberto Cavalli has launched Velour Saffron and Wild Incense, two new fragrances joining the Roberto Cavalli Gold Collection. Both scents were developed by perfumer Benoist Lapouza.
Velour Saffron ~ "The sublime contrasts of the zebra inspire the composition of Velour Saffron, which offers a duality of velvety smoothness and pure strength. The scent draws on exquisite nature of red gold – saffron – sublimating the precious spice with piquant black pepper oil for a hypnotic top note. A mystical heart of incense, velvety blonde leather and oud leads into an intensely sensual base of myrrh and woods in this deluxe fragrance, which creates a smooth, second-skin sensation to stimulate the senses."
Wild Incense ~ "Rich and complex, Wild Incense captures the effortless power of the panther. Top notes of cognac oil, date accord and incense have an alchemistic effect, taking the wearer on a mystical journey to an unknown destination. A sensual heart of rose, dark leather accord and smoky guaiac oil leads into a potent, oriental base of tonka bean absolute, vetiver and benzoin. Intense and addictive, this exceptional fragrance evokes an alluring and mysterious world beyond our understanding."
Velour Saffron and Wild Incense are available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

The notes in these sound very good to me, with Wild Incense coming in first because saffron does not do well on my skin. The descriptions are so over-the-top, but that is nothing new. I have and enjoy Nero Assoluto; I loved the bottles in the Florence series but never caved when they appeared at TJX.
They both sound good to me too, but it is not likely I will ever see them!
