Niche line Le Labo has launched Thé Matcha 26 , a new unisex fragrance.
In the same way matcha tea is much more than just a drink in Japanese culture, THÉ MATCHA 26 is much more than a scent to us. It is a moment of introspection, a moment of self that offers a quiet inner celebration of grace and soulful beauty. A simple whiff takes us away from the hum of the outside and brings us back “in”.
Matcha tea accord is infused with a creamy fig note, grounded by soft vetiver and textural cedar woods and uplifted by enticing bitter orange.
Introverted and deep by nature, THÉ MATCHA 26 is a skin scent, something meant for, and only those individuals lucky enough to be very close to, the wearer. It carries a noble stillness. To us, it is a scented reminder of home, of welcomed solitude, and of all things familiar and treasured.
Additional notes include bergamot, bitter orange, sesame and sandalwood.
Le Labo Thé Matcha 26 is available in 15, 50, 100 and 500 ml Eau de Parfum. A 10 ml travel tube set, with a three x 10 ml refill, is also available.

Ok up until now I haven’t seen a Le Labo I needed to desperately try… until The Matcha that is…
Interesting. Their Thé Noir 29 has fig as well, but this one sounds better to me.
I can’t remember now if I ever tried the Noir…
Ooh, Le Labo:). Sounds sniffable lol
Stopped by a local le labo shop and picked up (i.e. purchased) several samples, including this lovely scent. Immediately liked- a lot. Feel this is very sweet and feminine. Compared to other LL scents, find this works rather seamlessly as a fragrance. There are no jarring notes or accords, so it may come across as bland to some. For comparison, the first time I smelled santal 33, it was at a beach piano bar/lounge and the wearer could easily be tracked by the scent (I was intrigued but also initially put off by the lack of subtlety, but then intrigued again and purchased a santal 26 candle).
This conversely feels intimate and, to me at least, comforting and familiar. To my nose it vaguely reminds me of rose water + creamy fig..it is overall pleasant in feeling but perhaps not very long lasting (I was conservative in my initial spray since many scents from this perfume house can easily overwhelm and linger far beyond their welcome).
Interested in how others receive/perceive this fragrance. For reference, Santal 33 on my skin, after the dry down, picks up notes definitely reminiscent of eternity by Calvin Klein, which is an incredibly dated reference but there you have it.
