Acqua di Parma Signature Oud & Spice ~ new fragrance

Posted by Robin on 3 July 2021 3 Comments

Italian niche line Acqua di Parma has launched Oud & Spice, a new addition to the Signatures of the Sun collection.

An olfactory love letter to opulent oud.

The Signature Oud & Spice eau de parfum demonstrates Acqua di Parma’s artistic expertise when it comes to mixing captivating fragrances. At the core of the scent is oud; extremely rare, the oil has been extracted from agarwood – a precious resin of the Aquilaria tree – found in Laos, Asia. It intermingles with warm spices and sunny fruits for a lively finish, gracing the skin and air with a memorable presence that you don’t need to be a perfume aficionado to appreciate.

Additional notes include bergamot, raspberry, rose, cinnamon, pink pepper, cloves, patchouli and labdanum.

Acqua di Parma Signature Oud & Spice is available at Harrods, £246 for 180 ml Eau de Parfum. (This series usually comes in 20 and 100 ml as well.)

Notes sound good but LOLing at oud oil being extremely rare ?. Would you believe I don’t even own a bottle of Acqua di Parma ? which is likely an error of omission!

True oud oil IS extremely rare. I have friends in the UAE who will spend a thousand dollars for genuine agarwood chips for burning as incense. The scent of oud in so many perfumes is not true oud, it’s created. I adore oud but even I’ll agree there’s too too many right now, most very poorly done.

I laughed too. And not very convincing when they will sell it in department stores littered with oud fragrances.
