Karl Lagerfeld has launched two new fragrances, Tokyo Shibuya for women and Alster Hamburg for men.
Tokyo Shibuya ~ "Awakens the magic of Japanese cherry blossom. An alchemy of opposites - this is how Master Perfumer Emilie Coppermann, from the fragrance maison Symrise, imagined the embodiment of Shibuya as an eau de parfum: "I tried to find the incredible paradox between the fun and extravagant demeanour of young Japanese women and their reserved nature." The floral bouquet of cherry blossom, peony, rose and magnolia is lifted by invigorating, sparkling notes of sudachi - a Japanese citrus fruit - and rhubarb. In the base notes, cedarwood shakes up the serenity of amber and white musk in a subtle blend of warmth and coldness. Together, they create a bright, feminine fragrance with bold contrasts."
Alster Hamburg ~ "An olfactory walk along the Alster in Hamburg Water in all its majesty. Tangerine combined with invigorating mint evokes the freshness of the winds and rivers. Then a floral trio of freesia, sage and lavender unfolds its aromatic notes on a bed of moss, woods and delicate musk. Emilie Coppermann was keen on the aquatic charm of Hamburg, which she translated into a crystalline brilliance that permeates the fragrance. "I wanted to express an immense masculine freshness and this constant tension between the mandarin, the mint and the very seductive base note of light woods," the perfumer describes her inspiration."
Karl Lagerfeld Tokyo Shibuya and Alster Hamburg are available in 60 and 100 ml.

Both sound interesting. The Tokyo one caught my eye with sudachi as a listed note… hopefully they don’t interpret the cherry blossom as cherry cough syrup.
I have yet to find a cherry blossom I like, but you never know!
I have Mercer Street from this line and I’m really fond of it. So I hope I get to try these two new ones.
I have never seen any of the newer Karl Lagerfeld scents. Good luck!
