Chanel has launched Paris-Édimbourg, a new fragrance in the Les Eaux de Chanel collection.
An aromatic, woody fragrance that conjures the wild and majestic landscape of the Scottish Highlands, where Gabrielle Chanel found solace in nature.
A powerful burst of juniper berry and cypress evolves into a warm vetiver accord with earthy undertones and smoky accents, for a warm-yet-surprisingly-fresh scent.
*****
"Both fresh and woody, PARIS-ÉDIMBOURG could be the fragrance of a tweed jacket borrowed from the men’s wardrobe that was such an inspiration to Gabrielle Chanel." — [Chanel house perfumer] Oliver Polge
Additional notes include lavender, cedar, vanilla and musks.
Les Eaux de Chanel Paris-Édimbourg is available in 50 or 125 ml Eau de Toilette.

ordered.
That was easy.
so easy.
today you are my perfume hero! 😀
A badge worn proudly!
I Want It Now. ❤️
That’s so funny! What was it that appealed–vetiver and Jupiter, or the tweed jackets?
Vetiver, juniper, vanilla and musk. If the lavender isn’t strident, then add that to the list. Did I just list pretty much all the notes? ?
ha! you and me both, sister. 😀
I found the previous eaux leaning feminine and wondering if this one would be more unisex…
Sounds it, but who knows.
I want! I think I can wait 14 days…if I make it that long, it will be a no perfume purchase month ?. Candles don’t count, my rules ?.
Those are Donatella’s rules too 🙂
We call that Lent in my universe. ?
Candles are obviously emergency supplies, and an exceedingly practical purchase!
Sistine, you are brilliant. Hurricane season starts in less than two weeks, so I’d better get cracking! ?
there are no rules. 😉
Hey, the splitmeet is coming up. If you split it, it doesn’t count against your no-buy, right??
I wonder how it will compare to Sycamore.
No idea!
These scents are light, more cologne-like.
Sycamore in my head is a serious perfume.
That’s a good point. I had been thinking only in terms notes, but you are right that intensity is likely to be different
I finished the first three books in the Outlander series and anything Scottish highlands is intriguing to me. It sounds like it would be a outdoorsy natural smelling scent which appeals to me as I’m more of a no-perfume perfume person.
I have a hard time imagining Coco Chanel in the Scottish Highlands, but apparently she owned a historic estate with manor house and decorated it in her own Parisian style:
“Even the bathroom may have historic significance. Rosehall is believed to have been home to Scotland’s first bidet.”
This article article has fascinating photos of the interior of the long-abandoned manor house:

This is fascinating! I love getting glimpses into old, decaying manor homes. I hope the new owners preserve something of its character and don’t turn it into some sterile postmodern nightmare.
That sounds like it could be really great.
agree! I’m fascinated, almost embarassingly so. Perhaps my perfume acquisition mojo is returning. Drat. 😉
I’m fully expecting to love this.
I love these bottles. The price is quite good, too.
4.2 oz is just $130 — a steal!
Looking forward to trying this.
