Jo Malone has launched Scarlet Poppy, a new fragrance in the brand's Cologne Intense series.
Introducing our latest Cologne Intense – the ravishing Scarlet Poppy – takes you to the wild steppes of Asia, home of this extravagant bloom. This ravishing scent has been inspired by its exotic blooms and amplified by velvety iris. Barley and tonka bean add a double hit of sweet decadence while a burst of succulent fig draws us into this opulent and moreish fragrance.
[...] “The accord I started with was velvety and powerful, so it was all about building on that. Like with a painting, you start with a central idea and you expand around it.” Says Perfumer Mathilde Bijaoui. “The scarlet poppy accord is very voluptuous and floral, with blooms that bring a rich intensity at the heart of the scent. This is complemented by orris, for that very soft velour touch and an accord of heliotrope for a deep, powdery feeling, with a top note of ambrette so that the fragrance is rich right from the beginning.”
Jo Malone Scarlet Poppy is available in 50 and 100 ml.

I’m on it! Everyone knows I love Jo Malone! Figs, barley, and poppy….this sounds heavenly!
Let us know if it’s great!
I really like JM Poppy & Barley a lot. I can imagine this new intense one will be beyond. That red bottle though…so pretty.
The bottle really is pretty. I don’t think I ever tried Poppy & Barley…
Hm…I want to try this. I like MB’s work.
? red!
Red bottle!! Need to try this one, although I have no memory of the previous JM Poppy & Barley scent.
Ah! A new adjective…more-ish
It’s a British thing. 🙂
I think it did start there, but I have been hearing it here for years and surprised Kevin hasn’t! But I feel like the way it is used has changed, used to be more about something with an addictive property and now I hear it used almost of the sense of “overload”.
This is giving me vibes of Kenzo Flower as well as the red bottle Chanel put out for No 5 two Christmases ago.
Just ordered this off Nordstrom.com, will report back when it arrives (which will probably be at least two weeks).
