I don’t know, I thought covid only could ruin my Christmas… well, apparently Burberry, Gucci, and TBS are definitely making it sadder and weirder…

All of the holiday videos seem weird this year!
You know I liked the Burberry, but it really wasn’t a holiday video in any obvious sense.
Is Gucci mocking me?
Seriously — they are apparently mocking nearly everyone. It is a very weird video if they are trying to market their products as aspirational.
I thought I saw something about 1994 at the beginning of the Gucci ad. 1994 did NOT look anything like that where I was.
But yeah, it struck me as incredibly tone deaf.
Doesn’t look like my 1994 either! Honestly, every time I pass by the getups in their window displays I think one could pull off the same look for $10 at Goodwill.
