Vilhelm Parfumerie has launched Body Paint, a new fragrance.
Exclusive to Liberty, Vilhelm Parfumerie's Body Paint brings Henri Matisse's 1910 masterpiece La Danse to life in eau de parfum form.
Another arresting tale from Jan Vilhelm's library of scent, Body Paint begins its story in Paris in 1988. A secret cult of women, ritual dancing, whispered sounds, the ecstasy of burning skin; channelled in a hot, fresh tincture of ice cold pear juice spiked with chilli.
Body Paint was developed by perfumer Marc-Antoine Corticchiato. Additional notes include green pepper, iso E super, nutmeg, clove, cedar, ambroxan and oakmoss.
Vilhelm Parfumerie Body Paint is available now at Liberty in the UK, in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum. A 20 ml travel spray, and a coffret with three 10 ml sprays, will also be sold.

I will be relentlessly checking at Aedes for a sample of this one
I will be waiting patiently for them to make Purple Fig in a 3 x 10 set, and then for somebody to do a split 🙂
Interesting, although I can’t really imagine pear plus chili.
I imagined it, green pepper and all, and was not happy about it. But it might be fantastic, who knows.
And add in the clove…hmmm
Ha, imagined it and shuddered involuntarily. Have never run across anything by Vilhelm, but am bummed by the idea of this one: Matisse is one of my fave artists, and none of the notes speak to me 🙂
Yes, this. I love Matisse, too.
Just smells like candy, drying down into cedar – nothing to be afraid of !
LOLed at this! This was exactly my impression as well but it does provoke a morbid curiosity to sample it, no?
Iso E super PLUS ambroxan! Green pepper PLUS cedar! Just imagining the smell of this hurts my brain.
And my stomach.
On me it smelled like a stick of Blackpool candy rock ! (Is there an American equivalent? A candy cane is too minty ) A candy smell drying down into a quiet cedar. Actually found it nicer on paper than on skin ?
