Tuesday, International Sweatpants Day, Christian Dior's birthday. What fragrance are you wearing?
Me: day two in Diptyque Philosykos. (And Lillyjo wore it yesterday too, so I'm only sorta cheating.)
Reminder: on 1/24, you're Among Friends...wear a fragrance someone else wore in the scent of the day polls this week. Suggested by Regina.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2020, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.
Note: the Dior teapot "in extra fine Limoges porcelain with Check'N'Dior motif" is €485.
Kenzo Flower Oriental for me today
Also, would it be appropriate to look at the weather for Friday and request that other people wear something in the meantime that I’d want to wear then?
Mid 40s? I think anything is appropriate…
You smell great! It is such a beautiful perfume! I need to retrieve my bottle from the back of my cabinet! Thanks for the reminder!
SipOTD chai tea
Because someone wore this last week, I forget who
SOTD Angelique Noire, sort of getting my Shalimar fix but the vanilla is very sweet in this one..
Feeling a bit tired today, went out last night and a girlfriend and I polished off a bottle of Prosecco and stayed so late at the restaurant the waiter started to shut the light and said “I am not pushing out, but we have closed, about an hour ago” HA!
Lol! Glad you had a good night out!
I wore it last week! And now I can wear it again because you are wearing it. ?
AH!!!
Forgive me, it was you. I forgot!
It’s so nice to connect with friends!
You know it’s a good night when they’re trying to kick you out, lol.
yes!
The waiter also served us 2 digestive liquors before gently telling us it was time to go! HA!
That’s a great way to be kicked out! Nice waiter ?
Yay, I’ll wear that on Friday ?
SOTD Bruno Fazzolari Corpse Reviver from a Luckyscent Bar sample spray. The drydown went weird on me the first time about 3-4 hours in, and not the second time – hoping for a 2/3 performance where I love it start to finish!
I am curious if you’ve sampled Fazzolari’s Ummagumma since you are looking for a chocolate scent?
I’m in 24, Faubourg and hoping it makes thegoddessrena happy. 😉
Thanks for taking one for the team!
LOL! Oh, how I suffer and sacrifice for my fellow NSTers.
Gypsy today. Last day and then seven off!! WooHoo!
whoot whoot
Yay! Enjoy!
YES! Enjoy your time off!
Enjoy your time off! Just having the 3 day weekend made a huge difference in my ‘tude.
Nice!
Nice! I hope you have a great trip planned.
Awesome, have fun!!
Enjoy your week off!
Enjoy your time off!
Enjoy your holiday!
Winter Woods
How’s the winter been treating you, cm8?
It’s been unseasonably cold and we’ve gotten snow! Looking forward to the spring ?
I saw the 14 day outlook predicts above average temps for most of the country, fingers crossed.
It hasn’t been cold enough this year for me to wear WW. But you smell great!
In 10 Corso Como. Needed something simple, comforting and pretty today.
You smell relaxing. Hope it’s working for you today ?
It is working! ?
Always a great choice, you smell sophisticated, I got a bottle this year and had the nice surprise that it was a vintage one.
Thank you, Aurora! I tried the vintage one long time ago and it is very beautiful! You are lucky to have that bottle.
OJ Woman, copying Monday scent of KellyC.
I remember it being met much more enthusiastic!
You smell nice! 🙂
I’m wearing wearing Timbuktu, copying BobH from yesterday, and perfect for today’s cooler weather in Texas.
Aha, I might wear that tomorrow.
Obviously, you smell fantastic!
Drained my sample of SL Santal Majuscule. It’s very nice, but unoriginal: I’m glad I wore it a bunch of times, because I might have reflexively bought it when it was new, before realizing that it’s really just a 50/50 blend of Jeux de Peau and Santal Blanc (both of which I own).
Hmmm. I also own all three and have never noticed that. Now you’ve given me a project!
Santal Blanc is very angular and rigorous, and Jeux de Peau is very soft and bready, and the two together cancel out the most extreme qualities of each other. Santal Majuscule is very beautiful, but not essential, at least not to me (I was on the fence when I first smelled it, in Tokyo in 2012, so I bought Feminité du Bois instead).
I agree SM is very beautiful but not essential!
That’s interesting, because I dislike Jeux de Peau and Santal Blanc, but love Santal Majuscule.
I think if you smelled SM on one wrist and SB on the other, you would find a real similarity, at least a cousinship, and likewise with SM and JdP. A lot of overlap, I think.
Or maybe I’m imagining it!
At any rate, I like SM just fine, but I ADORE both the other scents. They always make me feel good, JdP when I need that warm cozy hug and SB when I need a little extra steel in my spine.
Sweatpants are a clothing item I never got into. I may have owned one pair years ago? Maybe.
SOTD: Black Cashmere
One downside to my new job is the very close desk space which requires me to be much more sensitive to the noses of my colleagues. Hence, I’m dabbing the bigger scents I own and trying to mostly use softer, skin scents. So far no complaints but folks might just be gracious and grateful I change it up every day 🙂
I’m with you on the sweatpants. I owned one pair many years ago and only wore them when I was sick.
Yeah, that’ll ruin ’em for you.
I recently realized why I no longer enjoy chamomile tea and its because of the first 3 weeks of my new job, which were stressful and quite bumpy, that’s all I drank. Associations are powerful.
Sweatpants to me were something to put on after skiing (these are pre-leggings days) and never worn outside the home, except when camping and as something to sleep in for warmth.
ha! yep, I’m with you.
My issue with sweatpants is I can never find them long enough. I’m 5’8″ and long legged, and don’t want to pay a bunch of money for them. I’m in leggings a lot, but sometimes I get tired of how binding they feel. I know I’m whining, posting it anyway. 🙂
I’m 5’7 and a half inches (I will never let go of that half!) so can relate. NYC has turned into a leggings-crazed city. It’s practically all you see out there especially on the weekends.
I love sweatpants and wear them every day as lounge wear. I would never wear them out in public, unless I was out camping though.
I consider sweatpants (and yoga pants for that matter) strictly at-home-lounge-wear or a (post-)sport/fitness outfit.
But some people, young and old, wear them like they are jeans. i just cannot get use to it. ? …oh and when they start sagging…nooooooo, please dont.
Bonus ugly points when you wear them with DSquared or Nike bathing slippers (yes I spotted outfits like that in my neighborhood) ?
Bonus ugly points! ?
If I see a pair of sweatpants, it will go to the donate pile. I won’t even thank it for giving me joy ?
LOL ?!
Double LOL ?
I’m kicking winter in the face today. I’m wearing TF Soleil Blanc. ULTA is running their twenty percent off coupon and I am trying to decide what to use my points on. This is in the running. I much prefer Orchid Soliel, but they don’t carry it. I’m liking the teapot today.
I liked the teapot, too, but somehow, I think I’ve seen something like it at Marshall’s, for way less. No offense to anyone who likes it!
Yeah, the price is silly. I love black and white check though.
I can’t think of a teapot worth that much money! I do think it’s darned cute though.
That’s a nice problem to have 🙂 I don’t know these two Tom Ford scents but will assume you smell great, Lillyjo.
Soliel Blanc is a nice beachy smell. The Orchid Soliel is creamy tuberose and pretty darn sexy smelling imo.
Thank you for the mini review, Lillyjo.
Would you like a decant of Orchid Soleil? I’m happy to send some!
That would be awesome! Thanks! I’m pretty sure it’s been discontinued now.
Well I would be gobsmacked if anyone was wearing my perfume this past week. I am in a thick, stewy tropical scent, by a major French perfume house. Can you guess what it is? Somewhat counterintuitively, this is a tuberose that I can wear. (Incidentally, Speech2Text wrote ‘tuberose’ as 2 Bros!)
Poison?
Not that one…
J’Adore?
Nah.
Goutal Songes?
And auto correct wrote Goutal as “gout also”!
Excellent guess scent profile-wise, but nope! (I think Songes has a fairly decent following.)
In fact, maybe I will wear it tomorrow now that I’ve mentioned it. Even tho it should technically be someone else.
Amarige?
This one launched about 10 years later. Different house.
I can’t guess but I DO want to know! Tuberose has a hard time on my skin too, EldO Vierges et Toreros is my only one because there’s a giant leather/spice battling the tuberose back from world domination.
I totally thought it would be obvious. I’ll wait a little while more to see if anyone guesses. This perfume has way more haters than fans, but I find it very pretty and I get loads of compliments when I wear it. It goes on like an 80s powerhouse, but quickly calms down to a sultry hum.
Mahora?
Oui!!!!!
Oh good! I have that one! Would not have guessed it though. Good guess. Now I have another option for Friday!
Guerlain Mahora? Or its relaunch as Mayotte?
Oh, I did not see this reply! I wonder if we are right.
YES!! Ding Ding Ding! The much maligned Mahora it is.
(I haven’t seen Mayotte at the Guerlain counter at NM–but I understand it is exactly the same.)
The description “thick, stewy tropical scent” made me certain it was Mahora, and “by a major French house” sealed the deal (but I added a question mark to hedge my bet because I am a bet-hedger).
You could have added “garbagey”, because it has that overripe-almost-rotted-fruit quality that is so typical of tuberose/gardenia white florals: a lot of people hate it (I’m not a *huge* fan) but those who love it, really love it.
I ADORE Mahora! You smell fantastic ?
AH, I may copy you tomorrow with Mahora
In other news…
My next Mary Renault book is coming to my local library branch soon..
Vintage Miss Dior, from a bottle I think I have owned for at least 50 years oh my! Have we ever done a cp to wear the perfume from the bottle we’ve owned the longest? Believe it or not, this particular bottle is not the one I’ve owned the longest!
That is really cool! What perfume have you owned the longest?
I’m glad you think it’s cool! The bottle I’ve owned the longest is Caron’s Fleurs de Rocaille parfum. Since we might do this as a cp, I’ll postpone launching into my story about it. ? Do you have any of your old bottles that you still use?
Sadly, no. My oldest bottles I’ve only owned for about 10 years at most. I have worn Coco edp pretty much continuously for 25 years, but the bottles have changed. I own a “vintage” bottle of Margaretha Ley that I bought half empty off eBay–having drained my last bottle of it over 20 years ago. Looking at my collection, the bottles that have been in my possession the longest (opposed to vintage bottles I have purchased already all vintaged!) are my Coco edp (my bottle is probably from 2010ish) and BVLGARI pour femme, which I know I also bought around 2010 –to remind me of my mother-in-law who wore it and who passed away in 2009. My Joy edt could only be about 5 years old, although I have worn it off and on for decades. Another old favorite that I have not been able to lay my hands on (or at least I have been unwilling to pay “collectors” prices) is Le Feu d’Issey, which now that I think about it, my mother-in-law probably bought for me the year I married my husband.
I have the feeling that many perfumistas would consider 10 years to be a long time to own a bottle!
I’m like you in that I have re-purchased things that hold memories for me, and I do still own some stuff I’ve had from the sixties onwards. I lost a lot in a storage fire, but there’s very little that I couldn’t replace and nothing I can think of that I’m itching to get ahold of.
Ah, good idea for a CP!
I couldn’t recall that we’d done it, so it seems not!
Wonderful, Holly, that gives real meaning to vintage when it’s your own.
Thank you, Aurora. I agree – owning and valuing something for a long time truly does add another layer of meaning to the experience.
That’s impressive! (on top of being a great perfume)
I still have an empty bottle from my first perfume. And I still wear this perfume.
Great to hear from another fan! Was your first perfume Climat?
Yep, it was. I don’t know whether to be impressed with your attention to details or alarmed by how many times I’ve mentioned that fact 🙂
BTW, I also have an empty bottle from my own first Miss Dior EdT that is close to 30 years old (and a partial bottle that is almost identical to the one my mom used to have when I was a kid).
I think the fact that Climat is rarely mentioned has helped me remember, plus you’ve written about it on your blog. Rest assured that you certainly haven’t gone on and on about it!
It’s always nice to know that someone else is sentimental about certain perfumes and the memories associated with them. ?
Still wearing quite a lot of Moonlight in Heaven which I must have sprayed quite lavishly on my sweater yesterday. So I’m copying myself.
Also wearing my much loved L’Impacte de pour un Homme by Caron, my favourite lavender.
Nice! I often wear the same perfume 2-3 days in a row, especially in the winter when it gets on my clothes. The knit collar of my puffy vest smells like a combo of my favorite winter perfumes right now.
Following LtSG’s lead on drinking chai, but I’m sure hers is highly superior to mine. I’m still trying to warm up. Early morning women gathering at church, after which I spent a good 20 minutes or more standing outside talking with another woman… until we each realized our toes were hurting from the cold (through my shearling lined boots no less…). One of those days where I’m thankful for the fur-lined hood on my parka so my cheeks aren’t frozen.
Further warm up offered by Angel Muse. Cozy, cozy, cozy.
I did about a 35-minute walk yesterday on the Highline and loved every minute of it. As long as I”m in layers and have a hat and gloves I’m ok. Plus, I was engrossed in listening to All the Light We Cannot See — quite good!
Oh, that’s a good book. So sad, but so beautifully written.
Put it on reserve for download at NYPL. Based on my place in line, looks like I’ll get it at beginning of summer….
Not wearing any perfume ?
And I miss it!!!!
I totally forgot it this morning, i was in such a hurry.
Usually i have a sample or travel spray in my bag to safe the day. But nope…not today.
When I get home I am going to wear something big and flowery (Poison or Safari or something like that.
Oh how I wish I could wear stuff like that to work. Some folks do wear big scents in the office…But I know some people are really bothered by it or even totally disgusted. Thats why I dont/cant.
The root canal has made pain disappear, yay, but the area/tooth is still somewhat sensitive, this is normal i guess?
Yeah, that’s pretty normal. Another week, and you should feel normal.
Normal is a relative term. ? Agree with Lilyjo, another week should do it.
That sounds reasonable!
And I picked…..
Samsara
edp, vintage, from a cute 7,5 ml mini.
Yes, it seems to be normal for some pain after a root canal! I think that I had residual pain for about 2 or 3 weeks. I think it depends on how much work they had to do.
I did end up calling my dentist’s office because I was getting concerned; they assured me everything was ok.
Good morning Y’all!
BRRRRRRRR! Wearing the warm and cozy Chanel Allure EDT, to at least smell like I’m warm and cozy……
Bengale Rouge because hajusuuri and LizzieB wore it yesterday! I think that I went a little trigger happy but it is gorgeous!
Yes, its gorgeous, you smell great!
?
Yessssss…. it is beautiful.
Me too! You smell great, twin 🙂
Woo hoo!
You smell great! I’ll be wearing it too soon.
Good morning! Bedtime/This morning: I wanted something that’s comforting to me, so I put on Old Spice. I’ve washed it off somewhat, and it will be completely washed off after my shower, but I feel like we’re living in weird times, and I wanted a scent that would be reassuring to me.
I know what you mean. I have this silly little stuffed calico cat sachet that reminds me of super happy days as a kid biking around Nantucket. I inhale its scent and I feel comforted.
It must have been magical to grow up in Nantucket.
I wish! But no–we’d rent a place for a week or two every September. This was a pretty weird thing for a family living in California, but my folks were raised on the East Coast.
Ah! Still, lovely memories!
That makes sense, though. New England is such a different feel from CA. What always strikes me as odd is people from SoCal going to Florida for vacation. Although maybe they feel like the vibe is different ?♀️
That’s a nice association. 🙂 Does the cat have a “sea air” sort of scent?
It’s good to have those kind of familiar scents to comfort us. I hope your day settles down.
Thank you. I personally am doing all right, but I watched a lot of news on late night CNN Monday night, and felt unsettled. There are rules here against discussing politics, and that’s just as well. Old Spice reminds me of one of my grandfathers, and happy times in my childhood. I wasn’t worried about things much beyond myself at that age. 🙂
I like Old Spice, but I had my one bad Ebay experience getting vintage Old Spice that had a piggy bank thing (was a nov3lty/ collector’s item). The whole experience put me off of it, partly because the bottles both opened and spilled in the box and I could smell it in my apartment for days, lol.
I can see how that would put you off of it, yes. 😛
I don’t do eBay, but I hear various stories from online friends who use it. They’ve had a range of experiences.
I hope the rest of your week is good. 🙂 Try to stay warm, my fellow northern East Coast people!
Oh, I forgot to say — I was inadvertently celebrating sweatpants day this morning. (lol) In cold weather, I’ll wear them quite happily if I’m just planning on going to the grocery store or the like. Unless I need to dress up, you’ll find me in soft, comfortable clothes. I’m a couple of generations after the “women wear dresses all the time” generation of those born in the early 1920s.
My mother, born in 1945, hit the “women can wear pantsuits” trend sometime in the 1970s, and later adapted quite well to business casual being nice slacks or skirt and a nice blouse. Nowadays, she’ll wear sweatpants at home on very cold days.
Contrary to what people would tell me, I never “get used to” items of clothing that are uncomfortable to me, and find them to be terribly distracting when I want to focus on anything else going on. Fortunately, there are fairly nice outfits made of cotton, or very soft-feeling poly/cotton blends, that I’m all right with, and that can be business casual wear. But I’m with some other members of Generation X that dress casually in our free time and informal settings.
Bedtime Tuesday: the new-to-me comfort scent of SL Un Bois Vanille.
Earth Mother by Dame Perfumery and drinking a cup of black tea.
Also in a Dame today, namely Black Flower Mexican Vanilla. Just one spritz has lasted all day.
I’m lucky to have acquired a new sample of DelRae Wit which is simply gorgeous.. Much wrist sniffing happening this morning!
I’m sure you smell great, although I’ve never smelled Wit myself.
I hope you get a chance to sample it!!!
I love Wit so much. You smell amazing!
Thanks ?
You smell great. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to buy a bottle: the brand is not “live” any longer, and there are no bottles of Wit available anywhere (unless you find someone selling their partial bottle.
???
Now I REALLY want it! If anyone is willing to sell a decant please let me know!
Spending the day in the tiniest bit of Chanel no 22 edt today. While I love the edt, the extrait is fabulous but today is not the day for it. Never tried the EDP version. Hopefully in the next month, I will get a decant to compare with the edt.
You smell great! For what it’s worth, I couldn’t really tell the difference between the edp and edt in a side-by-side.
I’m in Lyric today because I’ve not worn it in ages, and Petunia wore it yesterday!
Beautiful weather here, clear, cold (well, 55 degrees cold) and a light breeze.
I went for a serious walk yesterday. My trainer of well over a year joined the Houston Police Academy, bless him, so I had to choose another trainer. The new one is going to hold me very accountable for both my eating habits and exercise. He’s great to talk to about eating behaviors, emotions and triggers, which I sorely need. His parting comment was, “So, what cardio are you planning to do today?” Sooo, I went for a 40 minute walk, and really booked it. Methinks I’m going to like this guy.
Yes, our weather truly is gorgeous here right now! If only it would last. I love having some cool weather. Great on you for your long brisk walk! Glad you have a new trainer who seemed good.
I know, next week looks like nonstop rain. It’s best to enjoin while it lasts!
Jealous of your weather.
We had FIVE degrees this morning ?️?️?️
Oh, brrr. I hope it’s a little bit of a comfort to know that in mid-September, when your leaves are falling and it’s 60 degrees, we will still be sweltering in 95 degree heat!
…and in mid-October….
Most probably…
That’s great! Way to take care of yourself.
Thanks! I’m trying to look at it as self care. ?
You smell wonderful Nancy! I am trying to take advantage of the cold weather. It’s been oddly warm this winter.
Thank you, Petunia! ?
Lyric is one of my top favorite perfumes. You smell great!
California Reverie for me today.
I went to my niece’s 26th birthday party on Saturday and gifted her a perfume and a candle. When she opened it she sprayed it on- I think she liked it, but also said she had been thinking about wanting something more “masculine” to wear, and that she discovered she likes neroli (which she pronounced “nair-o-lie”, accent on “nair” ?), so I’m gonna make her some decants of stuff. Fun to have someone who’s interested!
How is the kitty doing?
About the same, thanks for asking. I’m thinking the most humane thing for him at this point is to have him put down. He’s too frail to go back to outdoor life and he’s not friendly. I’ve been having to give him medication to sedate him a little so that I can handle him, otherwise he struggles and growls and scratches, so his chances of adoption (plus he would need expensive full mouth tooth extractions) are not good. Most people want healthy, younger cats. And keeping him in a cage for the next several months to see how he does also seems cruel to me. He lived a long, outdoor life, and so trying to squeeze another year out of him doesn’t make sense. Hard decision since I do love this kitty (though he doesn’t love me back, lol).
Does he have any other health issues besides his teeth? If he is going to keep suffering outside putting him down might be the right decision. You love him a lot and I am sure that whatever you decide for him will be the best. Hope everything goes fine. Sending hugs!
He’s anemic and has an enlarged spleen which could be cancer- they couldn’t say for sure without a biopsy. He’s lost a lot of wait over the last 4 months and he eats a LOT, much more than the healthier cats in his colony. So that’s not a great sign, either. He doesn’t groom himself anymore, and he walks with a limp, which isn’t new, but since he’s generally weaker, so he’s very slow (he has only 1/2 a tail so was likely injured when he was young). So it would also be a very expensive investigation to see if he improves a little bit.
That is a hard decision indeed, but it sounds like its the right decision to free him from suffering and pain. Wishing you strength and wisdom!
Thanks Jiji! I’ve had to reach out to multiple resources, people who have much more experience than I, to “make sure” it’s the best option and the overwhelming response has been yes. It’s not helping that the vet keeps pushing for more time and (expensive) treatments to “give him a chance”. Really putting a guilt trip on me. But, he’s not offering to take the cat home, either ?
My dog has an enlarged adrenal gland. A small tumor was seen on the last CT scan that was performed in December. The internal vet who sees him does not what type of tumor it is. His appetite has increased enormously, which as you said, it is not a good sign. He has lost weight. Further tests will be needed later, but surgery is not an option, according to the vet. No matter if the tumor is cancerous or not, it will invade other organs eventually. It is really sad and devastating. I know what I will have to face sooner than later. So I understand your kitty’s situation, especially if he also has other issues. Let’s hope he has some comfort now that you are taking care of him.
I’m so sorry for your pup, pl67 ? I know how much you love him. Is he on steroids?
It’s also a very different scenario when it’s your own pet. I would be making different decisions if it were my own cat.
As much as I love him, he’s an unfriendly feral that I saw for 15 min every day to feed them and check on them, so easier in some respects to part with him.
I’m trying to keep him as calm and comfortable as I can for the circumstances.
I’m sorry to hear about your dog pl67.
I’m so sorry to hear that about your dog, sending comforting vibes.
I’m sooo sorry about your dog! I’ll hope for him being comfortable and staying with you as long as possible.
He is on steroids on and off.
You have been doing a great job not only with the kitty, but with the whole cat colony. Few people with so much compassion, love and good heart like you ElisaP. You are doing your best and I admire you a lot for that.
Thank you pl67 ?
It sounds like the best choice would be to have him put down, given the health issues and living situation, sad as that is. Sending you and the kitty lots of vibes.
Thanks cazaubon. Yeah, I think the vet doesn’t really get the bigger picture.
Thank you, Cazaubon.
Sending hugs and wishing you strength. It’s a hard and heartbreaking decision.
Thanks Undina. It really is, ugh.
With the health problems you know about for the cat and the health problems the vet suspects, it might be better to decide that the cat should be put to sleep. You don’t have the access you previously had for providing the feral cats with food, you said. (Correct me if I’m wrong.) It’s a sad situation, but it sounds like he wouldn’t last much longer living on the street, and he’d be in pain. *hugs* to you and pl67.
Thanks neyronrose. That’s exactly it. He definitely can’t go back to where he was because I can’t easily access him anymore. I think quality of life is more important than quantity. Cats don’t have a concept of time, anyway. Or the existential angst that humans have. So I don’t see the need to eke more time out of him.

Oops! That is not the appropriate response to that video! ?
But I do remember that commercial very well! And thought of Nair when I was writing that.
Now that commercial is reminding me of a childhood friend of mine who was my polar opposite (she was loud and spunky) who in 7th grade opened her desk, pulled out a jar of vaseline and a razor and started shaving her legs in the classroom! ?
That’s hilarious about your friend. ?
Here’s a recent conversation between me and a male customer, while the song Venus by Bananarama was playing:
Him- this song makes me think of that old shaving commercial
Me- shaving commercials reminds me of we wear short shorts.
Him- oh, well you’re older than me.
Lol! That will be $ 9.95 sir, have a good day ?
Hahaha! Kinda cute, but it’s like being called “ma’am”, lol. But aren’t those Venus commercials still around?
Yeah, I think they are. He was probably alot younger than I originally thought.
Thank you, Lillyjo.
Oh, that’s nice that your niece is interested in fragrances. You’ll have fun sharing that love with her, I’m sure. 🙂
She likes them, but certainly doesn’t have an obsession ? But it’ll be fun to give her some new things to try!
Last night I scrolled through the comments. Someone was wearing LAP Tea for Two. Great idea! That’s my SOTD.
Maybe someone is wearing it today, too. I’ll read the comments to see if I have a scent twin here.
Twin!
Wonderful perfume for a winter day!
Guerlain’s beautiful Nahema today.
Smelling wonderful!
Hiram Green’s Shangri-La today, it came to mind the moment I woke up. I took that as a clear signal that even my subconscious mind is all about perfume 🙂
You smell wonderful, I will likely copy you this week. 🙂
I’m wearing Parfums Delrae Panache because Nightingale above reminded me of this house. I don’t own Wit, though. This is very nice, though not at the top of my list from this house. It’s rather soft and has a sort of comforting, serene feeling to it.
Comforting and serene sounds like a real winner.
I will have to do a DelRae this week. I haven’t got any Panache, but something else will have to do!
You smell good!
Panache is one of their perfumes that I planned to buy one day and missed. If you own a bottle and will consider selling or swapping a decant, please let me know.
Organza Indecence ❤️
Oldie but a goodie. Gonna dig out my bottle for later this week 😉
Oh, you smell great and you will be copied!
Yep, I might join that bandwagon.
Thank you!
Wearing the long named Yves Rocher Folies de Saisons Delires d’Automne, a quite obscure YR which has an amazing ginger soda note on a balsamic base. It’s long discontinued but bottles regularly come on Ebay here in the UK so it hasn’t become expensive.
Sounds like a winner!
Oh Yes Petunia, if you like a ginger note it would be hard to get a better scent. I haven’t tried the AA one yet though.
I copied LizzieB and hajusuuri from yesterday and am in Bengale Rouge. It’s almost *too* good because I get distracted by wanting to smell it again and again.
It is good, isn’t it?
Woo hoo!
You smell great! This is one of the perfumes I’m considering for this Friday.
I’m in Mona do Orio Amyitis today.
Waiting for the postman to bring me new issue of NEZ and a couple of samples.
Hope you got your goodies lucasai!
SotD = Jo Malone Poppy and Barley
Can’t imagine what Poppy and Barley smell like for real ? but I do like this perfume. It reminds me of an a luxurious soap scent, not that it smells soapy, it’s more powdery I guess. Oh! Just realized I’m getting a feeling like Infusion d’Iris edt gives me. Nice.
NSTers, you smell fantastic!
Yeah, I don’t know what poppy-barley smells like IRL. Then again, I don’t know what the perfume smells like, either.??♀️? I’m sure you smell great, though!
Decanting right now so by default I am wearing Apoteker Tepe The Peradam. It’s cold and rainy so I may switch to something heavier later.
Have now switched to Songe d’un Bois d’Été. 🙂
I dithered on buying The Peradam, and then someone on here was thinking of splitting it, and then they went under. You smell great! They were a good line…
Hello from Texas! I am here on business this week. Aaaand there’s another thing to add to the list of things I won’t miss when I am retired: business trips.
Not on the CP this week thanks to the travel. Actually I didn’t bring any perfumes at all (gasp!!), just scented lotions. Kills two birds with one stone, ya know. So SOTM was Phlur Olmsted &Vaux lotion. The scent really didn’t last long tho.
Waving at you from Hoston!
I am gasping! No perfume? Tsk tsk tsk . . .
Are you sure you have no perfume at all? Have you checked your purse? 😉
Wearing Malle’s Superstitious, someone mentioned wearing it last week. Forgot how much I like this one!
I love it too!
I’m glad that y’all love it! It’s too much for me but I like smelling it on other people. 🙂
SOTD is POAL. It’s working very well with today’s cool, rainy weather—which is, coincidentally, perfect for sweatpants. ??
You smell great!
Thanks, Undina!
I’m struggling with the seemingly endless rain and dreariness with DHS Chinchilla, which has been seeing a lot of use for exactly that purpose this winter.
Egoiste by Chanel. They don’t make drydowns like this anymore.
You smell fantastic!
Thanks!
That one is so good.
Ditto!
Hurray for sweatpants! They’re perfect for a cold day spent inside, with no intentions of going outside. A mug of hot chocolate with mini marshmallows and some of your favorite potent potable added is optional. ?☕
SOTD = AG Encens Flamboyant EdP. Aurora had mentioned this one recently, and it sounded like the perfect choice for this morning.
Update: my friend has come through her closing-up surgery OK. She’s not in any pain, and she said that the doctor is pleased with her progress.
Glad to hear your friend is progressing as planned. The best of luck to her.
You smell fab, and love the sweatpants/hot chocolate combo. I’m aiming for that myself later tonight. Glad to hear your friend is doing well.
Good news!
That’s good news for her, especially no pain!
I’m with you on sweatpants or other comfy bottoms. I wear fleece lounge pants with silly prints. They go on immediately when I come home.
SOTD = Aftelier Bergamoss EDP
Someone mentioned Aftelier Ancient Resins last week and since I am doing Indie Week again, why not wear something by Mandy Aftel?

Commuting Woes/
– vehicles meant to be on the road should follow the rules of the road. Bicyclists – I am looking at you: stop when the light is red, and no going the wrong way on a One Way Street. Yes you. These rules apply to you too!
– Walker – If you’re coming out of a building, look right and left before stepping into the sidewalk. Also, must your eyes be glued to your electronic device! If you decide to come out NywY, make sure you can walk fast. Looking at your edevice is similar to driving under the influence. You are putting yourself. And others in harm’s way!
Completely agree on the commuting woes!
Happens all.the.time ?
Totally agree! I travel on a lot of roads with bicycle lanes, but so many times, they don’t stop at the lights. It’s very dangerous.
And we have one who insists on biking where there is no bike lane and extremely crowded during rush hour right outside of the train station.
Yes and yes. And what irks me the most: if anything, they’ll ruin not only their own lives – otherwise, I’d say: let’s nominate them for a Darwin Award.
Ha! Darwin Award indeed!
Don’t get me started on the cyclists ? There’s a street here that has a bike lane and it’s got tons of cyclists on it. It’s nearly impossible to cross because they don’t stop at the lights to let pedestrians cross.
And no one moves slower exiting than hipsters in Williamsburg…they must pull out the phones and oh so slowly walk up the stairs…. my late mother moved faster at 92 than these folks…
Sing it, sister. Things are bad enough out there on the roads most of the time, without cyclists and pedestrians adding to the problem.?
I’m one who could go do the bicyclist rant myself. My husband was hit by one while crossing 1st Ave. A group of cyclists was blasting through a red light and one of them nailed him. Thankfully, he wasn’t hurt. But there are a lot of more elderly folks in our neighborhood, so it can be dangerous for them.
SOTD – pre-reformulated Teo Cabanel Alahine. Because “Alahiiiiine” – not sure whether mals86 was the first one to call it that, but she did refer to this perfume by this name, and I saw several other commenters here using the same spelling.
What a gorgeous perfume! Why don’t I wear it more often?
Is Teo Cabanel considered indie? I am doing an Indie Week again and looking for ideas to meet the CP!
I think he would be since his distribution is limited, in the US anyway. But this may not be true in Europe.
Wearing Reglisse Noire tonight. I believe it was CM8 who went through a couple bottles. If there was anyone else who mentioned it that I missed, you also get full credit!
I’m all about comfy pants when I’m at home. Yoga pants, fuzzy fleece pants or anything of the sort is welcome here.
Gail, I was just looking at pictures of the Newfoundland blizzard on my local news. I have no right to complain about my winter! I hope you don’t ever see that much snow.
Isn’t that crazy? Thankfully no, we don’t get crazy snow like that! I don’t think I’m allowed to complain again either!
Our snow is happily melting. We were above freezing the last few days thankfully; we saw a bit of snow today. Last week it was too cold to snow but now that there’s the temperature shift the snow will be back. Nothing like Newfoundland though.
