Nothing says upmarket & fancy like “ Fanci-Stones ” with “gemstone-inspired” cuts.
So that’ll be $800 for the bottle & $20 for the juice inside. I still don’t understand how Swarovski get to charge these prices for polished glass – sorry , I meant “fanci-stones” ?
And how much for the factory worker who applied the 270 stones by hand?
They’ll be In India or Bangladesh earning $1 a month
Ugh, I hope not….
Having worked in fashion , Most fashion companies will make a garment with a cost price of say $10 & sell it with an 80-95% markup on that cost price as standard, so that even when it’s in a sale 6 months later at 75% off they’re still making money off it) & the workers in Bangladesh who made the garment were earning around $80 a month. I can’t imagine the beauty industry is much better !
I was really surprised to see the “Fanci-Stones” — they did not have to use the term so it was a choice. Just saying Swarovski crystals would have been better, I would think, but I guess since Swarovski crystals are not a selling point for me to begin with, perhaps I am dead wrong. Maybe there are people who want to pay top dollar for Fanci-Stones.
Even Swarovski appears to call them “Fancy Stones”, which in itself sounds slightly less tacky.
