It's Hump Day and Stress Awareness Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm de-stressing in Arielle Shoshanna's (delicious!) Sunday.
Reminder: 11/8 will be Art House / Stunt Perfume Friday...wear a fragrance that you find weird and wonderful but that might not be appreciated by anyone but another perfumista. Bonus points if you've ever received a spontaneous negative response or odd question and still wear it! Suggested by HemlockSillage.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

I’m wearing Patchouli Patch.
I heard that’s one of the best patchoulis around. ??
It’s one of my favorites! I layer it with the original Vanille from LA and Kiehl’s Musk oil.
Nice!
That sounds great!!
Oooh, you smell good!
I hope the Shoshana’s will one day be available in Europe, they sound so good.
I’m smelling absolutely wonderful in Guerlains l’Heure Bleue. Perfect sillage and a perfect scent for a rather dull day at work.
Tea is Grand Goût Russe by Damman Frères.
And I hope one day Damman Frères will be easier to come by in the US!
🙂
I hope that too! And Marriage Freres as well. And Palais des Thes.
PdT has a US website now, with free shipping over $75
https://us.palaisdesthes.com/en_us
Nice! Their Christmas editions are great each year – I recommend both this year’s and last year’s for gourmand tea lovers.
It’s a bit steep to ship to Canada though – and I bet Canada would also add tax on top – like they always do when I order things from US. It’s ridiculous really, I should find myself a friend in Vermont an hour away from Montreal to ship everything to them …
Oh, drat then. Ordering from Mariage Freres is the same, the shipping cost is crazy. It’s only worth it if you do a joint order with other people.
PdT had a chai tea I really liked but they’ve changed their packaging and I can’t tell which one it was…it came in a tin with an elephant on it.
Hi Monica 404, I’m a Montréaler too, although I’m currently in San Diego for the winter!
Hi there neighbor! You’re missing out on the first snow today! Though I must say, San Diego is just wonderful all year round.
I’m in Queen today, and smelling fine. Happy Hump Day to all. Hoping stress levels are manageable all the way around.
How are you coping with the cold?
It’s not ideal, but doable, other than frozen water bowl, etc. The dog does fine while I’m working. When I check on her she’s cozy in her fleece inside the sleeping bag. I often want to crawl right in with her and not go back to work.
Sleeping is fine as were inside the bag and quite cozy. It’s great if you’re dealing with hot flashes, because I can just whip off the bag for about 10 seconds and I’m cooled down?
My only concern, which is probably irrational, is that I won’t be able to start the van to warm it up in the mornings, and we’ll be “stranded.” I like to let it run a bit as I get ready, and also so the dog has a toasty reception when she comes back in from doing her morning business. So, we’ll get a hotel for those three days, that way if the van doesn’t start, she’ll be safe in the hotel. I hate leaving her for so long, though. It’s about 14 hours, and she’s very good about the potty situation, but it’s a long time to hold it…
Boy, that was a windy response! Maybe it’s bothering me more than I think?
Hang in there Deva!
Btw I love the new avatar.
Thank you!
She looks like a happy dog, but 14 hours is quite a long time. My dog used to be great about being alone. It used to stress me though.
When are you heading south? I seem to remember that it is only a few more shifts till you can say goodbye to North Dakota.
Be well and be safe!
Heading back to Florida after this contract, which finishes the end of the month. Dreading going back, but I need to deal with the house, one way or the other. Yeah, she doesn’t stress much when I’m gone. Pretty sure she could care less as long as I get back around her dinner time…
I’m keeping my fingers crossed for you and T-Rex!
Smelling great today!
Thank you! How’s your new place shaping up? Are you missing NM a lot?
I’m not missing it too terribly! I mean, I obviously miss friends and family and such but I adapt quickly lol and am being adventurous and exploring the LA area so I feel like I’m making the best of it! We are going back for a visit this weekend and will enjoy seeing everyone.
Sending warm thoughts out for you and T-Rex! You are definitely in the icebox right now.
Vanille 44 for some incense and vanilla goodness.
Woke up to a fresh layer of the white stuff. The weather lady said it will snow all day and end about dinner time. (and it looks like it’s headed your way lillyjo, sorry) Ugh. This is early in the season for us and I feel like we hardly got a fall. If this is the new normal I am not liking it. At all.
That’s exactly how I feel about fall. What happened to it? So sad. I hope the temps here are not headed your way. A high of 14, but that doesn’t figure in this &@$#%*£ wind! ??
Those temps are on their way! Highs in the teens early next week, not happy about that either!?
You are wise to get a hotel for you and T-Rex. Stay safe!!
It started this morning here. Ugh.
Last November, I had alot of snow though, and almost zero inches in December, so idk what’s normal anymore. Stay warm!
I remember November being very gray last year. I need sun!
Yes! I think it was the least sun we had ever had.
Fall hasn’t even gotten to the SF Bay area yet! It should be rainy by now but there is no rain in sight. Still shorts weather most afternoons. C’mon rain…. we are all ready for fire season to end.
I bet you are ready for fire season to end. The images I see on the news are frightening. As much as I hate to say it, I’d rather deal with snow.
I feel the same way.
Yeah, what was always hard for me was if the hills stayed golden too late in the season. I love the winter green….in its season. And the gold…in its season….
Was just talking about this at work today, I think we had a week of actual autumn with some pretty trees then several days of heavy rain and wind took care of that and we had snow last week. Just flurries but still 🙁
Fall is still around where I’m at, but it seems like it will be leaving soon.
Testing… testing…
Twins with Robin in AS Sunday. Mmmmm, matcha horchata… I’m really enjoying this.
Happy Wednesday, all.
Reading you loud and clear, FearsMice?
Hey twin! I like the final product even better than the early mod I tried.
My delivery of Arielle’s Sunday is out for delivery right now! YAY! It will be waiting for me when I get home….
Wearing Stella McCartney Stella, because Stella is just so easy and comfortable and goes with everything…..
Mine’s not going to be here until Friday, sadly. Something to look forward to, though!
Mine also said that on tracking but now it’s arriving today – so you might get yours a bit earlier, too!
I love Stella! That is a signature scent for a friend of mine..
It used to be mine too when it was just released. Loved the absolue version too! The bottles I bought years later don’t smell the same. Sad.
Stella is such an easy peasy, go-to scent. Always cheers me up.
CdG Skai. This smells a lot like an old-school vinyl record store on delivery day including the slightly urine-scented grapefruit and cardamom.
I think that is one I never got to try! Sounds fun?
uhm, is that a good thing?
Like many of you, I am in AS Sunday. It smells fantastic–milky, rice-y, matcha-y comfort. Downsides: very fleeting (I put on six sprays an hour ago, and it’s already starting to fade), and the box is too small for the travel spray, so getting it in and out is a pain. But I will definitely use up my travel spray, and expect I will start pondering a second travel spray purchase after that.
You all won’t think it’s a challenging scent, but it turns out that it is in the wider populace. I got my package yesterday at work, and pulled the travel sprays out in front of a couple coworkers. I passed them around for a sniff, and they both agreed that Saturday was nice. But Sunday? “It sure does smell like matcha,” one said uncertainly. “Yes,” said the other, “but why would ever want to smell like that?!” The first one chimed in, “Hey, a friend of mine mentioned a perfume by a company named Replica. It’s called By the Fireplace, and it smells…like a fireplace!” She collapsed in incredulous giggles. “As though you’d ever want to smell like a fireplace!”
So then I put on some Sunday and they agreed I smelled like a beverage and made no further value judgments in the face of my obvious pleasure with the scent.
Great story!
It’s always fun to share our hobbies with coworkers 🙂
I have already found two new followers for Sunday amid the general public. I wore it earlier this week. It seems to be an instant favorite.
I am not normally a tea or rice perfume person (or so I thought)BUT I LOVE THIS!!
It is truly cozy and I have had great longevity. I am commando today, doing bills but soon will try my new split meet purchase of Guerlain Lavande Velours. I can’t wait.
“…..like a fireplace!” Heaven forbid. That’s funny.
I know, right? They should sniff some of the other things we wear.
Hilarious!
🙂 I should bring perfume to work more often!
Yes you should!
Funny story. 🙂 Of course we want to smell like all kinds of strange things.
I told them about how much I enjoy smelling like barbecue (Lonestar Memories) 🙂 They looked at me like I was the weird one.
hahaha THAT makes me want to try lonestar
HOW DID YOU GET YOURS ALREADY?? Mine is not due here til Friday. Grump. Looking forward to sniffing the final result; I liked it when I sniffed it in the store back in May, hoping I still like it 🙂
That’s funny about your co-workers. I have to say that Saturday was not a big hit in my house (husband asked me to remove it, which happens super rarely, and I didn’t disagree…) I think Sunday will be much more acceptable tho.
I got Sunday on Monday ?. I did a test spritz and it is lovely!
Hehehe. Sorry. How lovely that you got to sniff an earlier version of it! Hope you get it earlier than predicted 🙂
I had to use a pen to push it out of the box, it is very tight in there.
And interesting reactions, because I would have thought this was a pretty easygoing scent. What do I know!
I just pushed it up with my finger, like a push pop 🙂 I agree, I didn’t expect it to be a controversial scent!
I opened both ends and pushed it out. The box too pretty to tear apart!
Oh that’s so funny….I’m trying to talk myself out of buying a travel spray of By the Fireplace right now!
Oh no, don’t! I’ve been thinking about getting one for ages. I still think about it.
LOL on that exchange with your co-workers!
Participating in the CP last night in Paco Rabanne La Nuit – my most comforting perfume. Like a hug from a favorite, bossomy, middle aged aunt. Today I wore Theo Fennell – also very nice.
Love Theo Fennell, you smell great. Perfect description of La Nuit, too. 🙂
I’m trying out Rose Trombone from L’Orchestre today.
It starts immediately as a deeper and darker rose. It’s more fruity at first but then it gets more balsamic, custardy (think vanilla & tonka cream). I even pick some faint wafts of incense that is not even listed among the official notes.
I’ve never heard of that line before. Are all their scents musical instruments? What a cool idea! I must look into that.
They are all music inspired and also for each perfume they created a unique soundtrack.
Robin, I love your photo today..
For the CP
Sous le Vent
Only a perfumista would understand:
Some days I get flowers and herbs……..
other days I smell like a feral animal in heat.
Flickr has an amazing number of really interesting photos of people looking at art in museums.
Ha ha, I’ve belonged to that group for years and have submitted several to it! It’s a fun one. (And if you ever want to use one of mine I’ll let ya!)
Is it the one called “Museumgoers”? I just checked and I’ve been in it since 2005! So I wasn’t exaggerating in what I wrote just above. In fact, I know the guy who started it (Bim Bom, obviously not his real name).
I spent some time “shopping” in that group but gave up because most of them were “all rights reserved” — but it is a great group! There are also lots of pictures of people looking at art that are just floating around outside that group.
I do most of my flickr searches set so that I only see pictures I can actually use (creative commons reuse w/ modifications), though.
Robin, I forgot to mention the picture is great! I had been thinking of my mom all morning, then came to nst, and it was perfect ?
Oh, nice.
Bvlgari au The Bleu. My Mom has already commented on this, saying she keeps getting whiffs of something smelling good. I asked her if it was what I am wearing and let her smell my wrist. It was the Bvlgari au The Bleu she was smelling. I am going to order her a bottle for Christmas this year 🙂
Oh yay!
twins 🙂 i’m down to my last 5ml of a full bottle and trying to finish it. and it was a Christmas gift for me 🙂
Comfort scent for me today: L’A Tea for Two. Just found out yesterday that we will be moving to the Santa Fe area as soon as we can manage it. OMG.
That’s a big move! Hope it goes smoothly.
That’s a beautiful area! I hope the move goes smoothly. Nothing worse than feeling rushed, though…
Santa Fe is lovely, but abrupt moves are not. Good luck!
Adding more good wishes! I do love that part of the country.
Best of luck with your move to the Land of Enchantment!
Thanks, all, for the good wishes. It’s a good problem to have. Very exciting!
I just moved from Albuquerque but oh gosh I do love Santa Fe! It’s gorgeous! Enjoy! As a matter of fact, I’ll be in Santa Fe this weekend for my good friend’s engagement party!
How was Albuquerque. Are you still in New Mexico? The state will be new to me.
Albuquerque is cool. There’s a lot of great places and things to do there! I loved it. The crime has gotten a bit bad in some areas so that’s an issue but overall I loved it. And NM as a whole is amazing, especially the Santa Fe area and northern NM!
I moved to California a couple of months ago but NM will always be in my heart!
Lucky You! I love Santa Fe. I hope you will too.
Woke up LADDM today. I am happy right now that my 3 candles came in the past 10 minutes. I think that I will wear Beloved woman today. The tiniest little bit since I have to work today.
You smell lovely! One of my favorites from Andy.
Love LADDM. You smell awesome!
Another member of the Sunday posse here. I don’t get the matcha at all, or really enough spice to call it horchata, it’s more like a nice creamy rice pudding on me. I’m not sure what I think of it, really, it’s well done but I prefer my gourmands richer and ‘night in with an oversized sweater’-ready.
Yes…it is not that, it’s more of a light gourmand no-brainer.
Your description is making me want to try it, though!
I get the appeal! And the Mr likes it on me so I guess it’s a keeper.
SotD is Fleur de Lalita
Flowers and greens and galbanum. But it has enough warmth to feel snuggly and comforting on a cold autumn day.
Almost house twins, wore Dusita yesterday.
Douceur de Siam is great!
I also tried Sillage blanc and Erawan…very interesting and of good quality as well.
– i only have samples….but hurrah, there are travel sprays…its tempting 🙂
Have you tried the iris one and the newest (forgot the names….)?
I have a bottle of Splendiris – it was my prize in the naming competition as my name for this fragrance was among top 3.
I’m waiting for a travel spray of Le Pavillon d’Or to arrive.
You really came up with a great name!
I think I need to order Le Pavillon d’Or!
You smell beautiful!
It’s autumn here but certainly not cool. I’m jealous!
SOTD is Elizabeth Arden’s Red Door Velvet. Another musky/green/patchouli bomb that is pretty close to SJP’s Lovely.
How interesting. I was recently gifted a travel size of Lovely. I get a pretty floral with an underlying martini accord. I really like it. It was part of a set and I wonder what iteration it is?
That’s a good question! My older bottle of Lovely is more dry narcissus/musk/patchouli.
I don’t care for the newer version as much, not enough ‘oomph’. :/
Guess I need to bug my cousin for the batch code.
PS-love your kitty cat avatar.
Right back attcha!
I’m wearing Gucci by Gucci today. Square brown bottle. When this was discontinued from stores, the SA told me it didn’t sell, and that people liked the edt better. It’s cold it’s snowing, I’m watching Bad News Bears before work. Great movie ?
Ugh…snow. my condolences.
Thank you. I apologize in advance for all the whining I will be doing through March.
I loved the idea of the brown bottle Gucci, but something about it did not work with my chemistry. It always ended up annoying the living daylights out of me.
I sometimes find it annoying. It’s one of those I have to be in the mood for.
I love the brown square bottle Gucci! And Bad News Bears also lol.
Are tastes seem to mesh well!
I know, they really do! I’ve noticed that as well.
Sorry about your weather, keep warm, I’ve seen Gucci brown bottle in the past but never tried it then, and it’s too late now.
It can still be found at discounters here. The one you would really like though is the one just called Gucci in the heavy glass round bottle with brown juice. That is long discontinued but is gorgeous, more of a vintage vibe. In case you ever run across it. One of the ones I missed out on.
Btw how is your ankle?
I’m wearing Bat. Even though I imagine that most people find T-Rex more off-putting, the very idea of wearing a perfume that smells like a bat or bats’ cave would no doubt send Koyel’s co-workers into hysterics.
I agree. BTW there is a new Zoologist called Bee that sounds wonderful!
Oh, wow, I’ve got to check that out right away. I never have yet tried Squid. Looks like I need to put in a sample order soon!
Squid was a scrubber for me ?
Me too, but this is the first I’ve heard of Bee and I want to try it sight unsniffed.
That seems to be mainly guesswork isn’t it? Basenotes has a discussion of a forthcoming one that is “a sweet bombastic scent” according to Victor there but there’s nothing about it on their website and it does not seem confirmed that I can find. I agree it’s probably a good guess.
I saw an actual picture of it on Facebook this morning.
Bat actually sends Koyel herself over the edge, as I discovered when I made her sniff it at Tigerlily in SF. I love it but she, errr, most definitely does not.
Ha ha! Good one! I think she hated T-Rex, also.
I was just about to say this myself 🙂 YUCK Bat. Someone recently sent me a sample of it as a freebie with a swap and I couldn’t give it away fast enough.
Calypso, I don’t HATE T-Rex precisely; I just can’t wear it because it gives me an instant headache. I like it in theory!
OK, good to know. Too bad about Bat, though! Did you ever try Civet?
I did! I really liked it–surprisingly so, since I am not big on most animalics. It was especially nice layered over a jasmine scent–I think it was Mirus Silver Lining? Gave it a lot of nice depth. I considered getting a travel spray, but decided I wouldn’t wear it enough. What do you think of Civet?
Bat is on tap for me for Friday. I think you smell great though!
Eau des Merveilles for me today. We’re dodging Friday’s snow showers but more is predicted for next week.
We can only dodge for so long…
Sorry ?❄
Ugh… I’m not ready…
No snow predicted for me yet, just nasty cold rain in the next day or so.
I honestly can’t decide if I’m jealous of your snow or not. I was in shorts today. I do love a good snow though. I’ve never lived in a place that’s snows a lot though so I’m sure that’s a factor.
Don’t be jealous. My average snowfall is around eighty inches. 5 years ago I got 114! If it only snowed a tiny bit at a time, it wouldn’t be so bad…
Mother nature never listens to me though.
SOTD = Memo Paris Winter Palace
I decanted for splits (not done) and swooned. It seems like no flowers were harmed in its making…it’s all about citrus, incense, vanilla, tea, benzoin, tonka.

To get a preferred rate in one of my bank accounts, I have to use my Debit card like a credit card (no PIN). I was presented with the most useless question at the very end of the transaction: Select language (English, French, Spanish). Hmmm,….1) it would have been more useful at the beginning of the transaction 2) this is New York City and the choices are the “traditional” 3. There was no other question to answer other than taking the card out which most machines signal by making that annoying beep.
And I also want to share a nice view of NYC at night:
https://www.instagram.com/p/B4gUAEPBHLN/?igshid=14fcbx4zx0p6g
Beautiful picture !
Thank you!
That’s gorgeous.
It was really stunning to see….I almost reached out to touch it ?
Something lovely to lift the spirit.
It absolutely lifted the spirit.
I looooved that pic!
Thank you!
Love the bottle!
It’s really pretty!
Nice photos! Sadly Winter Palace smelled like a cleaning product on me. 🙁
Exhausted after five days of travel & family visits, plus a funeral/wake that lasted most of yesterday. Trying to rest & relax in Masque Milano Mandala.
Sounds like you really need some down time, I hope you get it soon!
Thanks, I got a nap this afternoon before taking the dog to the vet this afternoon for her checkup, and now I’m curled up with her in my sweats. It will be an early night!
Hope you are refreshed by tomorrow, cazaubon! You made it!
Soooo relieved it is over. Whew!
Ooooof. What a trip. I hope that you do get your sorely needed R&R.
Thank you!
Phew. You need to reward yourself with another bottle!
Ha! Great minds think alike. I just used the Beautyhabit 20% off coupon (BHFF20) to get Loree Rodkin Gothic 1. Next up is Kilian Woman in Gold with my Nordstrom notes!
Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
Getting several dead or dying trees taken down today, so I’m listening to chainsaws all day. Sniff, seems like we lose several trees a year every year. I suppose it makes our fire clearance better but I really hate losing the madrones.
Working my way thru the Floraiku sample set today. Dang these are expensive, but that seems to be the way of things. Not sure I’ve hit any yet that I’m willing to plump for.
Oh, madrone are beautiful trees! Where do you live that you have those?
SF Bay area, in the Santa Cruz mountains.
Twins with the chainsaws. It took two days, but our dead oak is down. Now they are cutting firewood for us, then a day to clear the rest. Hopefully they will be done by Friday.
What is killing the madrones?
I’m wearing L’Artisan Tea for Two again. I think this fits the CP – although I find the drydown to be comfortable, warm and spicy and probably not too controversial, the beginning with its smoked tea/old band-aids smell (yes, that’s what I thought way back when I first smelled it) might not be appreciated unless one is a perfumista. Or at least unless given time to hit the drydown.
In other news, my samples of Ari’s Saturday and Sunday are on their way to me and out for delivery! I was so excited to join this kickstarter project. Go Ari!
Looking forward to hearing what you think about those samples!
What is killing the madrones?
Ack! My phone did that repeat thing –sorry! In this particular comment box belongs this: Scent twins today!
😀
It’s all been a bit hectic here of late, and I’m days behind with NST. I’ll be wearing the decidedly non-wierd Vol de Nuit EdT.
Hey Gaynor, I am often days behind too 🙂
Givenchy Le De for me today. I really love it and will grab this one often I think.
Best of luck to everyone who has snow and doesn’t like it!! Here still fall with beautiful leaves, but also a lot of rain….
We had a cold but otherwise decent day, and luckily no snow. Yet.
Dusita Erawan, which I think fits the CP with its earthy soil smell. No comments on it since it’s pretty much a skin scent. I do really like it, though. Very autumnal and calming to me.
I love earthy soil smell.
Jealous of you kickstarter folks getting your treats. I love reading the reactions.
In EL Sensuous Noir today because I switched out my scent tray from spring/summer to fall/winter. It’s definitely got more room, which means I must prefer summery scents. Sensuous Noir was one I decided to pull out of the cabinet because it’s been hiding back in there for a few years… Mostly faded out now, but it was cozy while it lasted.
Zombieland: Double Tap was very fun. I was horrified to see a 7/8 year old kid next to us. Especially during previews, since many of those were not for the faint of heart (or eye-rolling in stupidity) But…he and Mom left about 2/3rds of the way through the movie…he was thoroughly bored. It starts out with lots of zombie killing (obligatory head shooting, etc) but settles into a movie that is mostly filled with quick-witted and funny dialogue.
Ha, that does not sound like something I could see! Very surprised there was anyone that young there.
Yeah, at the very beginning as I’m shutting my eyes and turning away a bit, my husband leans over and says, “you chose this.” It was all designed to be comedic and, well, they’re zombies….
I’m often surprised by the movies people take their kids to. I was actually a bit heartened by the fact the kid was bored. Pretty much right away. Maybe they’ll choose more wisely next time.
LOL…funny husband!
Started with Allure edt this morning, put on Jungle l’Elephant when I got home. I think it fits the CP because it can be so overwhelming but I love it 🙂
Being a Rich Lady today in Encens Mythique.
You smell fabulous!
I’m in Lavande Velours today from my split meet decant that arrived last night. I really like it! I agree with Elisa P – it’s mainly lavender, iris, and violets with the Guerlain base. Very easy to wear.
Phew, lol. I think you smell great, and very purple!
It does sound very purple!
I’m glad I’ve finally tried it. It was available when I first smelled the Aqua Allegoria, but I just wasn’t into lavender then. Thanks for saying good things about it. It is definitely a purple perfume. It held my interest all day so it’s a keeper.
That does sound very pretty!
It is! Very nice indeed.
So this was a successful blind buy?
Yes, and definitely worth the $7ish I spent on it.
Hi Twin ( sleeping by now twin ?)
I am to bed now as well. Long day.
I liked it also, very minty sweet on me ( the violet?) in the opening.
I’m awake still but barely. I’m on the West coast. And interesting observation! I’ll pay attention for minty sweetness next time. I got the medicinal, slightly bitter aspect of lavender with the iris- violet underneath.
BeauFort London “Coeur de Noir”.
Top: rum, ginger and ink;
Mid: paper, leather and vanilla;
Base: cedar, tobacco and birch tar.
This is – in my view – the easiest of the ‘early’ BeauFort scents, and I have a FB at home as well as the travel 7.5m here with me. Oddly enough, I think of it as the perfect office scent, for those days when I want to smell of paper and ink. (I am just about old enough to remember when paper and ink was what one used for work!)
This sounds better than anything I’ve tried from Beaufort. When it was first launched I ordered a sample set and was overwhelmed and repulsed by all of them. My ink scent is Byredo M/M Ink, which is admittedly not an easy wear.
I really do think they have toned them down substantially. The samples in the beginning were almost unwearable but I found I kept coming back to them. It might be worth your while revisiting.
I need to actually try this line one of these days. I’m intrigued by the sound of many of them.
Worth a try, they’re a bit Love/Hate and certainly not for buying blind. ?
Teresa Helbig Old Money, from the swapmeet. Today, I get calones which I never got from it before, and I’m not excited about that at all. Looking forward to my Sunday travel spray arriving today, too!
I do not know the scent, but a scent called Old Money that smells like calone is just funny!
Today was sweet little Pixel kitty’s final trip to the vet. She passed away in my lap.
No perfume today. Only tears. ?
Sending condolences. ❣️
Thank you flopper.
Aw, condolences. I know how fond people get of their pets, and even if a cat or dog has a relatively long life, if they’re much beloved, it never seems long enough.
Oh no Jalapeno! I know that you did everything possible. So sorry for the loss of your beloved kitty. Sending hugs and comfort. I know that Pixel kitty had a wonderful life and home with you.
Thanks Petunia. It is all too easy to second guess decisions in times like this. I do hope that I did right by her.
I’m awfully sorry to hear this, Jalapeno. It’s so hard to lose one of your beloveds. Big hugs to you.
Thank you FearsMice. It is hard. Her condition became so bad over the past week, though.
Oh Jalapeno, I’m so sorry! Sending love and hugs.
Thank you Holly.
You gave her such a great life!
Thanks gvillecreative.
Sending love and virtual hugs to you. I’m sure sweet Pixel knew she was loved but it sure is hard losing a beloved pet.
Thanks KellyC. Pixel had some health issues, but she was the sweetest tempered cat I have ever met. She loved everyone.
Oh, so sorry Jalapeno! So heartbreaking. Sending you hugs- you really did all you could for her in the end.
Thank you Elisa P. No miracle recovery for Pixel this time, sad to say.
I am so very, very sorry. There’s no greater love for our fur babies than helping them make that final journey over the Rainbow Bridge; she knew you were with her; she knew you loved her. Sending you hugs and wishing you comfort.
Thanks Laila. It’s going to hurt for a while.
Oh no. I’m so very sorry Jalapeno! I know you did everything possible. It’s the hardest thing to be strong for our fur-babies. Sending you hugs.
I started crying at the reception desk at the vet a little bit.
Thanks Gail.
Oh Jalapeno, I’m so sorry. My heart just goes out to you.
Thank you lillyjo.
So sorry about your furry companion, Jalapeno, you gave her wonderful years with you, I hope it’s some consolation but we get so attached to them that it’s hard to say goodbye.
A big hug to you
Thanks for the hugs Aurora.
So sorry, jalapeño. May you find comfort in knowing that you loved pixel-kitty and did your very best!
Thank you hajusuuri.
I am so very sorry. Big hugs to you and gentle journey vibes for Pixel. May your happy memories comfort you once the pain eases a bit.
Thank you cazaubon. I hope that Pixel can run, jump, and play now that she is on the Other Side of the Rainbow Bridge.
Gosh Jalapeno, I am so very sorry.
Thank you Robin.
Oh no, I’m so sad and sorry for you. I have gone through it myself too many times. I hope your vet made the process as smooth as possible. It’s difficult to say goodbye but sometimes you know it’s the right decision.
Oh I am so very sorry jalapeno! You poor thing, that’s so hard. Sending you a special hug. My heart hurts for you,
So very sorry for your loss. ?
I’m so sorry for your loss, Jalapeno.
I am so, so sorry, Jalapeno. She knew she was loved and I’m sure your arms were where she wanted to be.
Thank you foxbins. She spent her last night with us sleeping on the bed.
Lost Cherry. Love ❤️
I have to try that one. I have a feeling I will like it!
What was your final take on Love and Crime?
Not weird again today (at least in my opinion lol) in OJ Champaca! The last dregs of a sample. Almost cried throwing the sample in the trash haha.
Good news- I got a job! Both positions I interviewed for made me offers! I negotiated with both and made a decision today! So excited to be employed again- yay! I’m going to buy myself a bottle of perfume to treat myself with my first paycheck!
Also, sorry for all of the exclamation points hehe.
No need to apologize for your punctuation… getting a new job is big news! BTW, how is your foot doing?
It’s so much better. I’ve kept it taped for 7 weeks and the doc said I could un-tape it so I have. It is a little tender but I can wear sneakers and closed toed shoes now (was in sandals for weeks). Haven’t tried heels yet, though, I’m scared. ?
Taking it slow and easy is the best thing that you can do.
Congrats! That’s great! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! ?
Congratulations all around, KellyC!
That’s such good news, congratulations! They are lucky to have you. Enjoy your new bottle!
Congratulations! What will you be treating yourself with?
Congratulations!!
Good for you KellyC!
Congratulations!!!?
Scent in the evening: L’Artisan L’Eau d’Ambre. Started out strong to me, and Dad started coughing and wheezing a bit, so I didn’t keep it on long. But it was mellowing by the time I washed my arms.
Also today, I got travel sprays from The Different Company. I have samples and decants of Osmanthus and Bois d’Iris (Thank you, swapmeet folks!), but I decided to get bottles direct from the company, too. The shipping ended up being more than the cost of a travel spray, so I’ll need to think those logistics over.
Have a good night!
