According to Lush, a "best-selling classic": Ocean Salt. "Refreshing, exfoliating, hydrating...what doesn't this scrub do? Our cult classic scrub has a mineral-rich mix of fine and coarse sea salt for serious exfoliation, balanced with coconut oil and avocado butter to soften the skin. That punchy citrus scent? It comes from lime oil as well as limes extracted in vodka to brighten and tone. Just one scrub with this beauty and you'll see why it's so popular!" $22 for 120g.

Hmm, I am interested…has anyone used this for any length of time? Does it become more irritating with increased exposure? The delicate skin on my shinbones wants to know…
I’ve used LUSH’s Magic Crystals scrub. A lovely sales associate made a sample of it for me when I was purchasing a couple of shower gels. I used it about 2 or 3 times a week, and didn’t have any problems with it. That sample was decently sized, and I got about 3 weeks of use from it.
I’ve realized that I should have mentioned that I used the Magic Crystals scrub in my armpits, for exfoliation there. No way would I use something like that on my face.
If you buy it Meredifay, I want to know if it smells great!
It certainly sounds good. I am all about the limes (and lemons).
Same 🙂
I will check it out the next time I get to the Lush store in A2, which isn’t very often. I always want to get Breath if God, solid perfume, but then I smell it again and it is too much like pencil shavings from old sweaty pencils. ? I am low on Rose Jam so I do need to go there .
I’ve used this before. It’s got a salt base, (coarse and finer, so 2 kinds of salt). When you add water, the coarse salt starts to melt, if you will, so I didn’t find it scratchy. It did have a really nice scent when I had my container of it. Mind you I haven’t tried it in awhile, so I’m not sure if the fragrance or consistency has changed.
They will probably give you a sample to try you have a store near you.
Great, thanks Gail!
I did use a tub of this, and while I don’t have particularly sensitive skin, the coarse salt was too much and kinda burned, or made putting on moisturizer afterward unpleasant. It smelled good, but it also went funky/off/spoiled before I finished the tub. I never bought it again.
My favorite salt scrub is from Wholefoods- Bodhi whipped soap body scrub. Much finer texture and very moisturizing (and cheaper).
Good input! I will get a sample but my expectations are in check now.
Thanks Elisa P!
See my comment below. My face is fine with it, but it is not sensitive.
I use it more or less regularly (between other scrubs). Actually I am currently using it. I lost count of the tubs I have bought.
I like it a lot. Several years ago people complained about salt crystals being too coarse, so Lush reformulated it making it gentler. Though it is still not what I’d call a gentle scrub. I like the smell and how clean it makes me feel without drying my skin out. But I normally use it before applying a moisturizing mask. I recommend to try this scrub before buying it, because it is definitely not for everyone.
Agree…I like it in the summer, but I use it just once a week and I very gently pat it onto my face, then VERY gently “swirl” it off with fingertips. No actual scrubbing! And then I moisturize!
But it does smell heavenly and I love getting just a tiny bit of the salt on my lips.
This is an excellent body/foot scrub, not for delicate faces. Use a liquid exfoliant or a cleanser with AHA/BHA instead. Using this Lush product or other abrasive scrubs on your face leads to damage. My face rues the day I discovered them, the illusion of smooth clean skin is nice but fake. I am very fond of Lush, they excel in many areas, I find that facial skincare is not their forte. I trust and rate LaRoche Posay, Klorane, Bioderma, Liz Earle, Embryolisse, Clarins, Clinique.
