Almost-Friday plus National Relaxation Day. What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm taking partial credit in Ko Denmark Jasmine + Neroli.
Reminder: on 8/16, wear a fragrance by Kerosene, Keiko Mecheri or Kai, if you have one. Partial credit for any other small-ish brand that starts with the letter K.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

That’s a lovely photo you chose for today’s post, Robin. I get no points for the CP today – I’m in VdN extrait today and breathing deeply. Yum. Thinking about Kerosene Broken Theories for tomorrow, although it’s a bit NSFW. Might be interesting to see who (if anyone) comments though.
Well, I’m going for it! But just dabbed a little. I’ll report back if I get any comments!
Relaxation day? I wish!
Wearing Amouage Reflexion Woman. Pretty green, watery floral scent for a nice and pleasant summer day.
Happy Friday Eve everyone!
I will relax double for you today ?
Thank you! That makes me feel better! 😀
Enjoy your day off!
Me, too!
Except, I am really wearing it. I tried spraying an atomizer I bought and it went all over me.
?
Hi twin! We smell great! At least Reflexion is not as strong as many other Amouages, so you will not overwhelm anyone! ?
True ☺
And I absolutely love it.
You must smell fantastic!
Hi everyone!
So I’m in Liasons Dangereuses today, and elegant jammy rose, dark but translucent. I’m not really a fan of By Kilian’s pricing but they have some beautiful perfume!
And I didn’t have to pay retail for my new (to me) bottle of LD because I found it at Good Will. For $14.99. When I first saw it, I thought, “This must be a knock off. The plaque is slightly coming off at the corners, and I don’t remember this black sticker on the glass.” Then I smelled it! Oh boy, I was excited.
Then I saw the Guerlains. Two large gold boxes. I innocently asked, “Can I see those as well?” I opened the first one and there was a fill bottle of Angelique Noire, resting comfortably in its box. The second? A similarly untouched bottle of Tokyo, one of those defunct city perfumes. And it’s a huge bottle. The price on each of those? $29.99!
I was obviously having palpitations as I checked out.
Omgoodness what an awesome score! Enjoy 🙂
I’ll admit, I’m waiting for the other karmic shoe to drop!
Omg! This is insane! The perfume God’s love you. ?
My last goodwill trip, I asked a girl if they had any perfume. She showed me a mini bottle of Taylor Swift Wonderstruck and said “this one is really old, you have to dab it on” lol.
Too funny! I have been to so many Good Wills that had less than nothing, so I was shocked to find anything even half good. The only other perfume I’ve found was Kate Walsh’s Boyfriend.
Your experience matches mine! But congrats to Coumarin!
How wonderful! I love stories of Goodwill perseverance paying off.
I think eclipses are more common!
There is something weird going on in the universe. I just got a bottle of Nasomatto Pardon for $13.50 at the Salvation Army and another friend found a 250 ml bottle of Chanel Coromandel. Crazy! But very happy for you.
That’s awesome!
What????
Good for you ???
I am putting “Swing by the thrift store today” on my to-do list.
Lol, yeah. I’m making a mental note to check out thrift stores in my area and see if they have any exciting perfumes. Well, actually I’ve made a physical note here. 🙂 As for discount stores, I’ve checked Marshall’s a couple of times in the last few months, and not really found anything I’ve wanted. There’s a T.J. Maxx near us that I want to take a look in for perfume.
Or “drive to the Goodwill in the ritziest neighborhood I can find” ?
Wow, that is crazy!
Ahhh! I’d trade my three bottles for that Coromandel!
Wow! That’s amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any perfume at any Good Will I’ve been to around here.
I frequent one in a richer/orlder neighborhood. I honestly was looking for shirts!
Those are amazing finds! I’ve had some really nice vintage buys at Goodwill, but my store is savvy enough to price recent niche quite high. Last time I was there they had Chantecaille Frangipane for around $60 and recently a SMN for $60-$80.
Wow! I thought mine was better at it, honestly. They had a bottle of Tiffany for $60 a few weeks ago.
Original Tiffany?
I think so. It’s long gone now but it wasn’t a great deal.
Wow! Amazing. I have found perfume at the thrift store before but nothing like those finds. And often, the perfumes are really high priced.
Congrats and thanks for sharing! Of course, now I feel like running out to our local goodwill…
I admit I would not be so jazzed if they had been priced much higher.
Report back!
*passes out*
Yeah, that’s what I’d do. Forget palpitations.
?
Hahaha! Calm under pressure. ✋
It makes my heart happy that you found them and can appreciate and enjoy them.Congratulations!!
Egads! Those are some amazing finds!
That’s so great! Congratulations.. I believe there’s a full moon and also someone mentioned meteor showers tonight. Seems like everything aligned properly today. Well done!
That sort of luck might have struck when I lived in the Dallas area, but it’s never gonna happen in NW Arkansas. Congrats!
? Lucky you! Congratulations on the stellar find. I’d buy a lottery ticket if I were in your shoes. ?
Keiko Mecheri (Kroll Lecherous according to my auto correct) Attar de Roses. Sweet rose – good for relaxation.
Gotta love autocorrect. 🙂
Lol!
We should do a CP of a perfume whose name was butchered by auto-correct or a perfume with a beloved pet name.
Yeah, or use this in the next guessing game.
I always end up staring at “Box of Eels” for a couple of seconds before remembering that that’s not the perfume’s actual name. If it’s in the morning, it’s more than a couple of seconds. lol
I love this idea! Mine would be Pour Un Homme which everyone on APJ now calls Pour UN Gimme lol ?
Sounds like an alcoholic trying to order a drink.
Aha ha! You are so right, Glannys!
My phone is really well-trained now. I’m stunned at how many posts I can make here with no corrections needed.
Oh I like the pet name one – my husband and I refer to SL Muscs Koublai Khan as « goat butt ».
????
And I have my own doozies but more from spell check than anything else — Cuirass Beluga (and I learned a new word because cuirass IS a real word) and OREOS for orris…
That is a most excellent idea!
Funny
First day of my super long weekend. The weather is just perfect so I went cycling for 2 hours and am relaxing now.
Sotd is Van Cleef & Arpels Bois d’Iris. I just love this smell of driftwood, salty breeze and iris.
Nice! Enjoy your time, hope the weather stays perfect for you, lucasai.
Ooh National Relaxation Day, what a great idea but it needs to be a federal holiday for best results 🙂
Wearing Seville l’Aube at the moment but will be wearing Kerosene Copper Skies later today.
And a paid one, at that 😀
SOTD is MCG Hanbury on a base of sandalwood essential oil. I only have two K perfumes in my collection: Kiehl’s Musk and a Kuumba Made. Kiehl’s Musk is too funky for work, so that leaves the Kuumba Made for tomorrow’s CP.
Oh, I bet that smells wonderful (the Hanbury + sandalwood).
As usual, I am clueless about the CP. I’m in Vanilla Hinoki from a small spritzer because it was handy. It’s nice enough but my little sample is more than enough.
It stormed and rained all night, and the rain is continuing this morning, so will probably do some exciting chores like laundry, providing I can get down off this mountain ?
Happy Almost Friday Day!
Or, get stuck on the mountain and don’t do laundry…I could live with that!
Chanel Fortnight
Smelling glamorous in vintage Coco extrait
I can only imagine how glamorous you smell!
Too bad I don’t look glamorous lol ?? ?
Trying Kyse Pêche au Yuzu today.
Peach with some citrus and cream. Very fruity as one would expect from from the name.
I need more vanilla. I start to get nervous if the vanilla is delayed showing up… ?
Have you tried the new JD Vanille Farfelue?
I have and I love it! And an FB is cheap as chips!
Really? What does it smell like? Do you get alot of vanilla?
It’s Vanilla with a touch of aldehyde….very pretty…not a blind buy… unless you know you like that combo…I only wore my decant once…. when I wear it again I will elaborate more. I am wondering if Old Herbaceous did a review on it. I know she loves Duality which is also from that line and also cheap as chips, 38$ for 50 ml…. That’s a pretty safe blind buy….am considering a bottle of one of them for my mom for Christmas.
Ha! I just realized I contradicted myself! Maybe try a travel size first for yourself?
I actually haven’t tried the Jeffrey Dame line. I’ve meant to but haven’t gotten around to it yet.
? Really? BFMV is one of my favorite vanillas but last time I went to contemplate buying more it had either fully transitioned to oil-format-only or was only available in FB (I think the latter – I was probably looking for a small bottle or sample.)
I’ll have to look into the new JD vanilla.
Yeah, I wanted to order another travel spray but it’s oil, or full bottle now. I’m not into oils, and the bottle price exceeds my limit. I occasionally think about getting the body butter.
Same, same, and same.
A sample is all I need. I had 2 that lasted for years, and one’s still got a bit left but not enough to get me through next winter.
I got one of them through a subscription service – Olfactif? Maybe I’ll look there…
I’m wearing Vanille 44 this morning and wondering why I bought it. It’s going up for swap in the next swapmeet. Today’s earworm is the incredibly annoying “All we like sheep” courtesy of G.F. Handel.
Ha ha, there are worse ear worms, I might note! But I get you on that. After I hear it at Christmastime I’m always getting an ear worm of something or other from The Messiah, usually “The People that Walk in Darkness.”
Too hot there and it’s not raining?
That’s one heck of an ear worm. Generally my Messiah ear worm is “For unto us a child is born…”
That is a much classier earworm than the stuff I get. Usually it’s something like “Baby Shark”. ?
? This reminds me of the first time I heard the Messiah, and I didn’t have the program. I thought they were singing “a wee black sheep.” lol!
Really late comment here, but Vanille 44 smells a bit rubbery on me. I have no idea why. Does it go rubber tire on you?
Scent of the day will have to wait until after my physical therapy session. Green tea mochi was the “tea” of the day, so far. Well, the one I assume has caffeine. The other tea, the one that I’ll be drinking all day, is decaf Lemon Lift, black tea with a strong lemon flavor.
Yesterday’s scents of the evening were Pacifica Lemon Blossom and then later the Hermes Eau de Pamplemousse Rose cologne. I’m still in love with the Pamplemousse Rose. Fortunately. 🙂
I like Lemon Lift too. Also Constant Comment.
Yes, I like a number of kinds of tea that are flavored with citrus and/or spices. 🙂 And most floral flavors, like rose and jasmine, for instance. I don’t care for lavender tea, though. I like the scent of lavender, but not the taste.
Picking up with what turned out to be Scent of the Evening, it was C.O. Bigelow lemon lotion and the lemon perfume inspired by it. I did a lemon theme all day, one way or another. 🙂
Have a good night!
Kerosene Broken Theories, from a dabber. Haven’t gotten CP points in a long long time!
Congratulations!
On the run, will check back in later – wearing MFK À la Rose.
From the police?
🙂 🙂
LOL! Nope, just running late and being hounded by the husband to get myself in gear for a grocery shopping trip. 🙂
An awful day, but I smell great in A Taste of Heaven. Beautiful vanilla lavender. The final stages are very similar to Pour un Homme by Caron.
I’ve been curious about that one (and also Straight to Heaven). I tried the Caron recently and it wasn’t for me- too much powdery vanilla and not enough lavender in the end. Does this one have more pronounced lavender?
I doubt that you will like this one then. Lavender never lasts so a lavender-vanilla combo will inevitably dry down to just vanilla. The opening of this one is slightly greener than the Caron but the dry downs are very similar.
It’s a shame that Nicolaï’s Pour Homme has been discontinued. That one was far greener and not so sweet.
Have you tried Music for a While?
I have tried it. I had mixed feelings about about it. It was compelling and nicely odd with the pineapple, but also a little too sweet for me. I think I also tried it in summer last year, so maybe I’ll give it a try in cooler weather.
It’s an odd scent in a fascinating way. I love sweet in perfumes so I really enjoy Music.
I hope you find your perfect lavender.
Austenfan, we are awful day twins, most unfortunately!
I completely lost my temper with one of the people I had to work with today and I feel awful about it. She was perfectly nice but not very competent and patience is something I struggle with on the best of days, so yeah. ???
Hope your day gets better! ???? and perhaps a stiff ?
My husband says I am an impatient perfectionist, the worst possible combination. 🙂
Aw, sorry to hear about your awful day. I hope that you were able to unwind tonight, and that tomorrow will be an improvement.
Tacking on this little PS to say that this is for both austenfan and Robin!
A belated thank you for the good wishes 🙂
Wore Santal 33 from the free sample that keeps on giving. I can understand why young New Yorkers would like to smell like this – it is woody, smokey and clean all at the same time. Impressive.
Bought some samples and a cute little mini of love2love Orange Blossom and White Musk. I don’t like clean musks and agree with Cazaubon that SL Clair de Musc is straight up laundry detergent powder, but this little l2l kind of hits the spot. It smells of orange blossom water (the type that you buy at Middle Eastern grocery shops) and clean sheets just off the washing line. Simple but nice.
Was just looking up your frag as I am not familiar with the brand, and note that, remarkably, Fragrancenet is selling 100 ml bottles of it for less than $6 (NOT $60, but $6)!
If I remember correctly, a few in this line were done by some established perfumers.
Checked on Fragrantica and this one is by Maurice Roucel. (Maybe my L de Lolita Fleur de Corail was just off and not badly formulated? Who knows?) There is a Rose and Fresh Peach one by Calice Becker and two more. Honestly for $6 you can’t go wrong.
I haven’t chosen my Keiko Mecheri scent yet but will wear one, possibly Ume’. I’m currently so bummed out by the news about Placido Domingo. I’ve been fortunate to see/hear him sing a number of times and also to go to Washington Opera when he conducted and performed there. Even saw him in a bar at the Watergate Hotel one time chatting up some woman, which now kind of gives me the shivers to remember.
Ugh, I can relate – it broke my heart to find out earlier this year that my very favorite musician had been implicated in some heinous sexual misconduct allegations. I still feel too grossed out to listen to much of his music and I’m definitely never going to buy anymore of his albums or see him in concert.
I should hasten to say, innocent until proven guilty and all that. However, the evidence thus far has already prompted several places to cancel planned visits and concerts. I still remember hearing him here in Houston in Aida and he was so great.
I’m surprised that so many are surprised by the revelation that so many men (famous and otherwise) are guilty of this behavior. It’s alive and well in the medical profession, I can tell you. Sad, but true.
Very much alive in the medical profession. People tend to do what they can get away with.
ITA. It’s behavior that the vast majority of men have engaged in to one degree or another, regardless of profession or age. The only people I’d be surprised by being implicated in any such scandal are women.
Vast majority, eh?
Well, not surprised, but disappointed. Also of course something very prone to occur in academia, my field. Lots of scandals on this lately, including one or two with a woman professor. Risky stuff in a field where you have continued close contact with students, and in philosophy where erotic relationships with teachers have been celebrated since Socrates. I was an academic administrator for some time, and music was an especially fraught field. Instruction was often one-on-one, and teachers sometimes have to touch students’ body parts to correct something wrong. Very tricky.
Yeah, the news about Domingo is staggering. 🙁 Always enjoyed his performances, and he seemed a nice person, but now I do not know what to think.
He was a very nice person from what I remember. Many years ago I performed with him in operas at the Met in Lincoln Center. I was a member of the Metropolitan Opera Children’s Chorus.
Wow, this is so cool, CM8!
It was absolutely surreal… performing on that huge stage!!! And then the backstage and wandering the entire building as a curious tween….and meeting so many now famous folks…. Kathleen Battle played my older sister in Werther….she was so young and genuinely loving and caring in real life.
And Kathleen Battle too! ? What amazing memories.
Wow!
I only saw him perform once. Herodiade. A friend whose company was a sponsor of SF Opera invited me. We sat in box seats next to Mrs. Domingo.
After reading some recent beachy perfume reviews on EauMG this morning, I was in the mood for beachy myself. I picked Sylvaine Delacourte Vanori, the one described as solar vanilla. It’s one of the two that I didn’t purchase in travel spray, but I’m still enjoying my sample. Also wearing the vintage dress I bought in Portland last weekend.
Solar notes are tricky ones for me. Sometimes they work wonderfully and other times I can’t scrub it off fast enough.
SOTD is ELDO Antiheros, which I snagged at the Twisted Lily sale. I feel like this is one of the least interesting ELDOs, but it’s really the basic lavender I’ve been wanting. I would have had a hard time paying full price but it was well discounted. It’s hitting the spot, anyway.
I was really looking forward to seeing Peter Murphy perform a full Bauhaus album tomorrow night, but got an email today that his 3 upcoming shows are cancelled because he had a heart attack ? He seems to be ok after needing to have 2 stents placed, but sad for him and bummed for not seeing him perform.
What a pity. I had tickets for soft cells Marc Almond last year, bought train tickets to Berlin and a week before the show it was cancelled without explanation…
Ugh. That’s too bad. I love Marc Almond, too. I at least got a speedy refund (and didn’t have to buy train tickets).
Oh no 🙁
I also took advantage of the Twisted Lily sale to finally buy an FB of Ineke’s Idylwild for 30% off –lucky me!
Nice! I got a little worried by how much stuff they were discounting and wondered if they were fixing to go out of business. An SA said it was to make room for new lines.
Yikes! Heart attacks are no joke. Having said that, is there any talk of eventually re-scheduling those shows at a later time, post-recovery?
Bucoliques de Provence by L’Artisan, part of a freebie pack. It reminds me a little of Jicky but it’s been a while since I sampled Jicky. It’s the lavender/vanilla combo.
I just tried that one recently in my lavender quest. It reminded me of Caligna, but with iris. Not enough lavender for me, though.
It’s hard to find a good lavender! I’ve mostly been disappointed.
The 2 I’ve bought and enjoy (Gris Clair and Antiheros) and are the most lavender-y to me of what I’ve tried. I also love Dusita Issara and Bogue MEM which are more complex. And expensive, lol.
I beg to differ. I think there are plenty of great lavenders, but most tend to be sweet.
However, it is very difficult to find a non sweet lavender. Lavender essential oil is quite sweet already, so I guess most lavender centric perfumes enhance that aspect.
I’d love to hear your rec – perhaps I haven’t looked hard enough. I don’t even mind sweet, unless it’s not overly so! Bucoliques is pretty nice…
I love lavender essential oil but I find it more herbal than sweet. But there’s all different types of lavender e.o.s and they can all smell different….some are sweet, some more Herbaceous and some, like lavender absolute are almost a perfume unto themselves…. that’s the one that gives the suede Accord to HG Voyage.
Nicolaï Pour Homme (discontinued), Maharadjah (also discontinued), Kiki, Pour un Homme, L’ Impact de Pour un Homme, Histoires de Parfums 1725, A Taste of Heaven, Jicky, Bucoliques, Bvlgari Thé Bleu, Brin de Réglisse, Music for a While, Caldey Island, Lavande Velours and Invasion Barbare.
I’m not a fan of Gris Clair, but it’s been ages since I last tried it. I found it a tad harsh.
There was something in the 2018 update of The Guide that Luca Turin cited as a sound replacement for Caldey Island. Kindle search shows it to be La Via del Profumo (Abdelsalaam Attar now?) Sensemilla. Four stars, “lavender hologram.”
I really need to read the New Guide. Turin calls Taste of Heaven a lavender vanilla and says it adds a dash of complexity to Caron’s Pour un Homme.
But Pour Un Gimme is much more affordable ?
I am glad that you pointed that out because it is true. You can buy a vat of PuH for the price of a bottle of AtoH. My compromise is L’Impact de Pour un Homme by Caron, slightly more expensive than the Eau de Toilette but still a lot cheaper than the Kilian.
I’m very pleased that your commenting seems to be going so well today! (In spite of your advanced years 🙂 )
Yes! And with that vat a large amount of decants can be made!
Commenting works because I am not commenting on my old computer ?. I am back on my phone because I now can….a few days ago I couldn’t!! I kept getting a message to try again later. Now it’s all good ?
So fragrancex sells the 25 (yes, TWENTY FIVE) ounce bottle for 80 USD…. my goodness that is cheap in comparison to AToH!!!
Wut
Someone needs to buy that twenty five ounce bottle and offer it up in the next split meet! Not I, for we already own the 6.7 oz bottle Chez Marzipan ?
I tried it… it was Sinsemilla Hologram on me. Not a good thing. Sometimes my nose and LT’s seem to be on entirely different wavelengths (scentlengths?)
I had that experience with Caldey Island Lavender which was exploding baby powder musk on me. Different scentlengths, lol.
I think the perception of musks varies a lot between different people. Personally I have no problems with the one used in the Caldey.
Elisa, from what I read the Caldey was reformulated a while ago and not as good anymore. This is why I never bothered to seek it out.
My holy Grail lavender was the one I wore in 1978… Yardley English Lavender…came as a splash with a tiny stopper…I used to douse myself in it after every ballet class in the summer.
I have a bottle of the Caldey which is a few years old. It’s lovely.
Ohh, I do love that photo! I am in need of R & R!
My SOTD is Roger & Gallet’s Bouquet Imperiale, for today’s warm weather. 🙂
Hope you get that R&R soon Smokeytoes!
Still a little sore from the mole removal and leaving shortly for work. Spending the day in Coromandel after spending the morning in Original Musk Blend no 1. Today is a good day for the me. My Luckyscent package and my dogs get their Bark Box today.
Ouch…hope it is better quickly.
Happy in a pear/mimosa thrum from the blingiest of bling bottles, M. Micallef’s Ananda.
Kevin’s recent review of Castile by Penhaligon has made me really wish the soap were still around. Wasted time yesterday hunting the internet for something comparable. Didn’t find it.
Joining Cazaubon today in construction noise misery. Somebody has been drilling, sawing, and nail-gun shooting all morning. Ayyyeeeee.
Ha! I went on a similar soap hunt after reading that. Which led me down a Nesti Dante rabbit hole and decided I could use the Capri soap, which maybe not Castile, but sounded awfully nice and refreshing. I didn’t buy it in the end.
Ha! Kevin sent me down that ? hole a few years ago with Villages & Monesteries or whatever it’s called. I was on the brink of buying it several times but never did. Now it’s much harder to find.
It’s also a Dante Neste in case you didn’t know ?
I have that one and the Golden Country side one! I love them both and both from Amazon so not so hard to find! And they last forever since I took the cue from Robin and cut off a piece with a sharp knife and store the rest.
Ooo Elisa, I can always count on you to talk me into something LOL ? ?
Villages & Monasteries is fantastic, and you can buy it on Amazon. It is $12 instead of the usual $9 or $10.
I am also seeing it on eBay for less.
Eek!! You and Elisa are getting enabler pins! Getting that soap next Amazon order! I am actually out of fancy soap so perfect timing!
I like several of the Nesti Dante soaps. Oddly enough, my TJ Maxx (which never has interesting perfume) often has Nesti Dante soaps.
I need to revisit TJMaxx.
I’ve just started using the Nesti Dante Tomato soap, and while I love the creaminess, it has almost no scent! And the scent it does have reminds me of dried herbs. I wish it smelled like tomato leaf or at least had a refreshing aroma.
Disappointing! My favorite tomato leaf-scented product has to be Burt’s Bees Tomato Toner. I pour it into a spray bottle and wear it like a cologne 🙂
Oh, I love the smell of that Burt’s Bees toner too. My favorite tomato leaf product is CB I Hate Perfume Memory of Kindness. Have you tried that one?
I haven’t tried any of the CB I Hate Perfumes, but that does sound like a nice one!
Trying out Keiko Mecheri A Fleur de Peau. So far, it’s not wowing me. It seems a little sweet. I’ve managed to only do one thing today.. calling Mugler and asking for a sample of the new Amber Exceptions perfume. It’s on its way! I’ve said this before, but the representatives there are the nicest people. I hope loreal doesn’t replace them.
Do report back once you try the sample, I rely on you for all things Mugler, Lillyjo.
For sure I will let you know! Do they have a Mugler U.K. site?
Thanks to your question I’ve just looked and there is one, good to know.
Mugler was one of the companies I hit up for free samples when I was a broke grad student and just falling down the perfume rabbit hole (Diptyque and Hermes will also send free samples). That’s how I fell in love with Mugler Cologne.
Hermes people were really nice on the phone when I called them last year.
Huh. Their rep at the downtown Seattle Nordstrom is… not.
But maybe you have to go to Hermes direct.
I called them direct.
I’ve found SAs in the Hermès stores are great. In other stores, not so much.
A Fleur de Peau is quite sweet. On some days I found it cloying and almost unwearable. On other days, though, I really enjoyed it.
Yeah, the sweetness is a little much today. I will try it again in winter.
Good for you! They ignored my email request. Maybe I have to call.
Give it a try. It’s been awhile since I’ve ordered anything from them, but I figured it was worth a shot to ask.
I saw that Mugler has a new version of Innocent out that actually sounded rather nice. Gorgeous red bottle, too.
I saw that too! It’s priced good enough for a blind buy, but I can’t trust anything anymore ?
Maybe they will starting having samples of that Innocent? I totally agree with you on not wanting any blind buys from Mugler now.
In K de Krizia from a bottle acquired in the 90’s when I lived in NYC. Normally, I wear this in winter but it’s a cloudy, cool day in London.
You are so fortunate to have K de Krizia. I haven’t smelled it in decades, but I loved it so.
I have a sh!tton of K de Krizia. Shoot me an email if you want some.
It’s gorgeous stuff. I haven’t worn it in ages.
It’s so unique, I never grew tired of it. Slad you can get some from kpaint’s lovely offer.
I’ve got the KO Denmark Jasmine + Neroli and should have put that on today. I’d have to find it in my perfume cabinet, though. Instead, I wanted pineapple, so I put on HdP 1804.
I had a time finding mine too 🙂
Friday here, and I’m very pleased about that. We’ve had big changes announced at work, I’m not sure what will happen to two of my team, and I can’t see where I might fit in, either. Meanwhile, there is a long way to go, I will fortify myself today with Mitsouko, and look forward to reading everyone’s comments tonight.
Here’s to hoping you will be fine. You smell wonderful!
Yuck. Major work upheavals are never fun, even if sometimes they lead to something better.
You have my sympathies! I’ve been going through changes at work too for the last 8 months. Most of the company was sold to new owners (I work for the US division, but live in Canada). The Canadian division is still held by the previous owner. We were given a guarantee of 1 year, so have until the end of December. No news of any extension yet.
Sending out good thoughts for you!
Oil Fiction for my BWF week, now a bit of Oriental Lumpur. Made Kimchi fried rice for dinner.
Kimchi fried rice sounds like a great dinner.
This morning’s Terracotta is all but gone.
Spent relaxation day trying to buy 2 sets of RT tickets, both sets with the same departure but different return dates, and trying to get 1 set to fit the parameters of United’s voucher redemption rules which excludes some partners even if they’re carriers with flights listed at United.com. And because of all the above contingencies I had to buy 1 set by phone. It seriously took like 6 hours and my brain is fried.
I’ve had the same perfumes in rotation (they’re out on a tiny cabinet on my nightstand; collection is in a separate room) since summer started (late/mid May?) I’m starting to feel a bit in a rut and need to swap some out but I have no idea what else I have that would be seasonally appropriate. I suspect that’s because I now live in a place where summer lasts 5 months instead of 6 weeks. I just didn’t need that many before…
Have a lot of your perfumes become uncomfortable to wear due to your change in location?
No! On the contrary, particularly with summer fare. I’m just feeling like my warm-weather scent collection needs expansion 🙂
SotD = Atelier Grand Neroli
I love this one so much. Jalapeno made a comment yesterday about two Atelier’s scents that sums up how I feel – why don’t I wear these more often?!?! Too many samples, not enough time, LOL.
I love the cologne style of fragrance, just can’t get enough. Don’t mind scents that have a short life on skin. I like to reapply during the day, especially in hot weather.
Hope you have a thankful Thursday, dear perfume people. Stay cool or warm, be fragrant, feel loved. 😉
You smell wonderful! Grand Neroli was the first FB I ever bought and I’m almost down to the end.
Mmm that’s a nice one. I meant to get a travel spray when my sample ran out but never did.
LOVE the last paragraph of your post tiffanie! It made my day.
Relaxing in a hotel room in blessed AC right now. Took the bus to Philly, which was so cheap and easy (although getting to the bus in NYC was filled with my husband’s stressing….really bad cab driver which meant getting out after 5 blocks and heading into subway). Hanging out now before dinner.
Multiple and frequent spritzes of Jour d’Hermes Absolue to cut through the grime and humidity. Won’t be doing CP because I only brought Hermès scents with me. It’ll be Twilly for the wedding. Clean, easy, pretty and innocuous. Amusingly, my husband brought Pamplemousse Rose for himself.
I remembered someone saying on NST that they were going to Philadelphia, and then watching the evening news yesterday and thinking that it would seem like a weird time to come to the city with all that was going on with the shooting situation in North Philadelphia. It was all very quiet out here in the far western suburbs of the city.
Yes, it’s very humid here in southeastern Pennsylvania.
Good to hear that you made it to Philly! Enjoy your weekend! ?
Mostly sunny and bright today! Woo hoo! SO very happy to see that big shiny thing up in the sky. ????
SOTD = Soivohle Paracelsus extrait, from the sample stash. O. M. G. My eyes rolled back into my head when I dabbed a little of this on. I’m getting spices, dark roses, patchouli, and dark chocolate. There’s also something that is dry and powdery lurking in the background. Very happy that I am not getting the listed tobacco note. That’s something I do NOT get along with at all.
Ooooooh that sounds really good.
It is! I have put it on my bottle wish list after only 1 wearing.
The sun just showed up here. Your perfume sounds wonderful!
I’m glad to hear that we are sunshine twins today! ??
Hot hot hot out! I went for a swim at 9:30 this morning, it was so toasty. SOTM was MMM Under the Lemon Tree. SOTA… ugh, got so buried in work I forgot to put anything on. Must remedy.
Been sampling lately. Yesterday I tried Carner Barcelona Black Calamus and was very surprised to encounter DK Black Cashmere…! Hmm. Same perfumer (Rodrigo Flores-Roux). Hmmmm.
My uninsulated office is an oven. HOT!
Popping back in to say I wore KM Les Zazous today and am loving it. Honey, spice, lavender. Kind of an animated, stimulating, and upbeat perfume. It’s reminding me of one of the Jacomo scents, but I’m not sure which one.
Perfume roulette tonight! My hand grabbed SL Iris Silver Mist. It’s totally appropriate for this day.
I got a really nice necklace and bracelet on Etsy. Wow, just blown away at the quality; it’s very simple but exactly what I was looking for. Kinda made my day!
Yay for perfume roulette working out!
