From Diptyque's upcoming Prêts-à-Parfumer collection, an adjustable scented bracelet with gold-plated clasp, available in Do Son, Tam Dao or Eau Rose, $90. There will also be scented, wearable stickers to be worn like tattoos (to be sold in Do Son, Eau Rose or L'Ombre dans L'Eau; 5 stickers for $55) and a gold-plated brooch in a bird design with scented ceramic disks to slip in the back (to be sold in Do Son, Eau Rose or Fleur de Peau; $120).

I don’t care how much money you have or how much you like Diptyque, that is *insane*.
Depending on how well the bracelet holds up (it is described as “thread” or “cord”, no idea what the actual material is), it might be high too, I don’t know. The brooch seems like the only one of the 3 that will last, since presumably you can spray the ceramic inserts to refresh.
I didn’t want to rag on the bracelet because 1) some people might think that the clasp with Diptyque engraved on it would make it worth the money and 2) I didn’t want to seem like I was always negative. But since you brought it up, frankly it looks like a friendship bracelet that your eleven-year-old could make out of sixty cents’ worth of cotton floss, and if you aren’t smart enough to spray that bracelet with Tam Dao yourself, then you’re dumb enough to pay $90 for it.
Not to be mean, but I can get a gold-plated clasp for jewelry making at a craft store. Gold-filled clasps or pins or such last longer than gold-plated. It kind of reminds me of getting a metal rose that is scented with rose oil(?) at a Renaissance Faire. Although I’m pretty sure that the metal roses that I’ve gotten were only a tiny fraction of those prices above.
I enjoyed your rant! And whole heartedly agree.
Wow. That is super pricey!
And that bracelet looks like it’d wind up being a very expensive cat toy… O_o
Haha yes! A tissue-paper wrapped bottle of Alkemia oil quickly became a nighttime toy for my cat. I couldn’t figure out where the noise was coming from, but the torn paper all over the place answered my question.
Oh wow, they do get into things, don’t they??
You don’t need to be lemming this, it’s such poor material, thin thread, I didn’t like it at all. The stickers and the brooch are ugly too. Sorry LOL but they are. Useless. 😀
I initially recoiled at the ridiculous prices (and general silliness as well) but, hey – if Diptyque wants to sell good smelling trinkets to people across the world, who am I to complain?
