Yves Saint Laurent will launch Libre, a new fragrance for women, later this month. Libre will be fronted by singer / songwriter Dua Lipa.
Libre Eau de Parfum is the new fragrance of freedom from Yves Saint Laurent, a statement fragrance for those who live by their own rules. A reinvention of the floral perfume, it combines lavender essence from France with the sensuality of Moroccan orange blossom, for a unique floral fusion complemented by a daring note of musk accord.
***
...a gender-bending riff on fougère, the traditionally masculine fragrance category that is heavy on herbaceous lavender and earthy oakmoss. Thanks to an infusion of hyperconcentrated Moroccan orange blossom, and a proprietary note exclusive to YSL called—wait for it—Diva Lavender, which isolates the freshest elements of the aromatic purple flower, any overt muskiness is effectively tempered.
Libre was developed by perfumers Anne Flipo and Carlos Benaïm. Additional notes include mandarin, neroli, amber and vanilla.
Yves Saint Laurent Libre will be available in 30, 50 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum.

Great bottle 🙂
I don’t love the cap (something about it is nail polish to me) but agree about the bottle itself! The picture above is the 50 ml, I think the 30 ml is even cuter.
I give you that…I don’t like the cap either. But the bottle is lovely. I can’t wait to see it somewhere on a shelf. I doubt I will like the fragrance, tho. It’s been a long time since I loved anything from YSL.
Same here! But you never know. They don’t do new pillars all that frequently.
If you break it down by year, maybe not, but I feel like YSL has had a lot of pillars since I’ve been into perfume. Even if we don’t count Parisienne or Mon Paris.
What I know of since 2006, for women: — Elle, (maybe Parisienne), Manifesto, (maybe Mon Paris), this. So at worst, 5, in 13 years. Or am I missing some?
That seems not that bad? But when you add in the zillion flankers, and side luxury collections (Le Vestiaire des Parfums, Oriental Collection, etc etc) it does still come out to a flood of releases.
Diva Lavender!?! Now where did I put my boa?
Exactly.
And so it will be another not-lavender lavender.
Gender-bending! Ground-breaking in a perfume! The wrapping of letters is cute.
“A statement fragrance for those who….” and I stop reading, only to start reading again when they list the notes. What utter nonsense.
Like the notes and the bottle though, so I hope to sniff this soon.
The copy turned me off…seriously
I’m curious about this Diva Lavender. Is it like an isolate?
Some lavender oils smell fresher and more delicate/ refined than others.
I would guess it is…I think that’s what most lavender is these days.
