Clive Christian Miami Poolside & Miami Beach ~ new fragrances

Posted by Robin on 22 May 2019 17 Comments

Luxury niche line Clive Christian has introduced the Art of Travel collection with two fragrances: Miami Poolside and Miami Beach.

Miami Poolside ~ "Delicate wisps of sea salt splashes of tonic and a twist of crisp lemon for on the rocks poolside glamour. A charismatic Aquatic Oriental fresh with a crunch of citrus infused watermelon. A refreshing splash of Mojito fusion and sweet orange blossom delving into smooth sun bleached woods. Sunlight plays on the ripples of the water's surface reflecting shades of bright blue; crisp white linen flows in a gentle sea salt kissed breeze. A perfume for the ultimate Miami Poolside experience."

Miami Beach ~ "Dive into a sparkling ocean with a delightful blend of sea salt florals and a tangle of mint. This stunning aquatic floral is tinged with sea moss, a refreshing bite of pear and a burst of bright citrus. A delicate drift of neroli teased with a unique Mojito fusion and a fresh ozonic accord. The undulating ocean reflects a warm sun in glints of gold and green as waves roll onto golden sparkling sands. The striking scent of this perfume welcomes you to Miami Beach."

Clive Christian Miami Poolside and Miami Beach are available now at Neiman Marcus, $225 each for two 7.5 ml travel sprays plus travel case.

As near as I can tell some of these luxury brands can charge whatever they want, it doesn’t matter.

Roja Dove charges $3500 for 100ml of his tippy top of the range ‘signature’ scent – ml for ml this one is almost getting into the same ballpark – I can see more price rises coming as they all try to out price each other to stay Uber-luxe.

    Right.
Only to me Clive Christian is far from being exclusive. Their fragrances smell so artificial to me…

But exactly…the exclusivity is all in the price and distribution 🙂

When I see things like this, I don’t know whether to roll my eyes (I may have a seizure after *this* one) or laugh. I can safely say that no perfume in his line is worth 1/4 of what they charge. Ugh.

None of their perfumes work for me so I’m ok with ignoring the release.

I alternate between laughing, rolling my eyes, and worrying that we’ve reached end times.

It’ll be homeopathic perfume next – 1 part fragrance to 1 million parts alcohol & yours for only $1000

Jeez, the Miami Beach of my childhood didn’t smell like that!
Those are way too pricey for my blood.

The copy describing Miami Poolside is so bad that I want to smack whoever wrote it. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Jalapeno ~ this reminds me (and I’m dating myself here) of the Bloom County Comic Strip, Annual Swimsuit Edition, it’s hilarious, I’ll post the link if I can find it.

$225 for 2×7.5ml ? Even Roja Dove would roll his eyes & flap his fur coat at those prices !
