A very happy Almost-Friday to you! What fragrance are you wearing?
I'm just now greeting my very old friend Eau Pour Le Jeune Homme by Maître Parfumeur et Gantier.
Reminder: on 3/29, wear an orange blossom or neroli fragrance, if you have one.
And for those of you who like to plan ahead, see Scent of the day ~ Friday community projects 2019, where I'll try to always have the next five or six weeks mapped out in advance.

Hello everyone!
Vintage Hiris for me today. I previously found this iris pretty drab but it just sings on skin. Perfect for the 80F weather we’re having.
I’m wearing Hiris as well! You smell divine.
Ah good choice!
“‘orrible.”
Not!
Ohhh, you smell gorgeous! When this first came out, I gifted my MIL with it. She wasn’t a fan of the scent but loved the cobalt blue bottle. Once in a while I’ll sneak a spritz when I’m at her house…. 🙂
How gracious of you.
I think she was simply excited that I gifted her with something frivolous instead of a breakfast/brunch out or a potted plant. She commented that I keep her smelling good and up to date with the latest skin care trends! I guess she could say worse things of a daughter in law… :grins:
🙂
I’m wearing Mugler Dis Moi, Miroir, which is one of my favorite Muglers. The fragrance is orange blossom, lily and milk. You can really smell the orange blossom up top, but then it dries down to a lily fragrance.
That sounds so pretty and I never did try it…
I’m curious: what kind of milk? It seems like milk has so very many facets and stages, and I’m not sure I would like too many of them with OB!
I haven’t tried Dis-moi Miroir but I have two from this line too soon gone: Miroir des Secrets and Miroir des Joyaux, and I enjoy them tremendously so I’m sure you smell lovely and different.
What is the joyaux like? It’s a really great price right now.
Hello Lillyjo: It’s the only oud/rose that has turned out a winner for me, on my skin the development is noticeable, the rose up front and a soft oud base. If you know you love rose and oud I don’t think you could go wrong but I know I should encourage you to get a sample first 🙂
Ooh, thanks for the description. Sounds good, plus it Mugler ?
The florals were pretty in that one, but the milk was a very natural-smelling, sourish milk. Don’t want to drink it, don’t want to wear it. More for you!
Mugler Cologne today. Wanted to wear something light because tonight I’m going with a friend to an event at Indigo Perfumery!
Still have a couple of Jo Malone mini/samples available in the swapmeet for US folks, if anyone’s interested.
Have fun at Indigo! I wish I lived a little closer
Have a great time!
Enjoy that event! I’d like to you how it went.
Argh! “I’d like to hear…” I can’t blame that one on spellcheck.
Today is my mother’s memorial and I am doing the eulogy.
I wore 31 RC EDT to my dad’s in Nov. 31 RC is beautiful and collected to my nose.
Still debating what to wear today…maybe Eau Premiere or No 19 Poudre…as it is feeling like spring here. But I may go the vanilla route for comfort.
Deep breaths.
Thinking of you and wishing you a day filled with warm and beloved memories of your mom. ✌?
You’ve been on my thoughts and prayers She-ra. Sending hugs.
Wishing you lots of peace today, She-ra. I’m sure whichever scent you decide will be the right one.
So awfully difficult, I’m sure. Best wishes.
Hugs to you She-ra. Wishing you much comfort.
I hope you can find peace and comfort in her memory. My thoughts are with you and your family.
Best of luck to you today, She-ra. Peaceful thoughts your way.
Hugs for you She-ra.
Thinking of you
Go for comfort, or at least whatever will keep you taking the deep breaths. We are thinking of you…
Sending lots of comforting vibes and hugs as you get through this difficult day.
Sending comforting vibes to you today. R31 will be a great comfort to you.
Thinking of you on this difficult day.
Best of luck to you, She-ra. Will be thinking of you, and I hope you find your most comforting scent for today.
Sending hugs for this difficult day.
Thinking of you and your family and sending hugs.
Thinking of you today.
Warm wishes and peace and much love <3
Thinking of you She-ra, sure you will give a beautiful eulogy.
Wishing you peace today.
Thinking of you in this difficult day. But what a privilege to share with others about your mom. May it give you a sense of joy in the grief.
Thinking of you. Peace to you and your family.
Hugs ❤️
Sending you love.
I’ve been thinking of you the past couple of weeks and praying for you. You’re very brave to deliver the eulogy, and I’m certain you made your mom proud. Big, big hugs.
Hugs and thoughts of comfort going your way She-ra.
Sorry to be late today; hope you have been able to sense the outpouring of love and concern for you here, She-ra. You did your mama proud!
Sending you hugs on this very difficult day.
Oh, She-ra, hugs to you. Wishing you peace and comfort.
I am very sorry for your loss, hope you found all the comfort you needed.
The “youth” looks a bit dubious…
I’m in Bvlgari Omnia, l’Original today. Quite certain it’s one of my favorite “wear anywhere” fragrances.
Happy Almost Friday Day!
? You crack me up! A typical Renaissance teenager with a tude.
I thought he was wearing a backwards baseball cap ?
It is pretty much exactly how my son looks at me.
?
Lol! The more things change….
Ha! Exactly!
I’ve seen this in person. He’s downright snarky up close.
Smelling cozy in Omnia and I agree.
I’d bet that there are some family photos of me with that same expression on my face.
I’m adding class to my casual work environment today with 24 Faubourg EDT. I have to be in the mood to wear this beauty but today it feels perfect.
It makes me feel as if I should more dressed up than I actually am, wearing colored jeans and my favorite cowboy boots with pointy toes. I’ve always been the type to pair pearls with denim so I guess it works for me.
That’s an awesome outfit!
?
I envy your ability to wear pointy toed anything. I’m stuck with hobbit feet, minus all the hair. ?
Agreed! My feet are shaped like a duck’s, so pointy toed shoes hurt.
My boots are super comfy. The point actually extends after my toes end so they aren’t squished. I could run in pumps in my 20s, I can’t even walk in them now. ?
24 Faubourg always adds class.
Hi twin! I’m convinced that 24F magically transforms you into someone elegant and put together. At least on the inside…
You smell and look great.
It really is a classy scent. So far, I haven’t been able to pull it off. I bet you look great!
I can’t wear 24 either, lillyjo! You are not alone. ?
It works for me maybe one-third of the time.
I really liked 24F when I smelled it on a testing strip but did not try it on skin at that time. I should see if it works on skin for me,
I really like it but it always makes me think of big permed hair and shoulder pads. ?
DSH Habibi for me today- a beautiful and unusual combination of OB, oud and saffron.
Ah ha! Trotting off to DSH’s site to order a sample of this!
I hope you enjoy it!
Adding it to my list.
I’m wearing Hiris on a beautiful but chilly sunny morning.
I hope you all have a great day.
A great seasons-transitioning scent. Smellin good, sistine 🙂
Smelling good on this sunny morning!
I am wearing Chanel No. 19 and drinking a cup of English breakfast tea.
I forgot to add, that in addition to my No. 19, I put a squirt of Clive Christian Siberian Pine on my left forearm, and a squirt of Annick Goutal Nuit Etoilee on my right. To compare them. My parents just called and asked if I would take my Dad to his urologist appointment today. I said sure. I hope all the stuff I just sprayed doesn’t get on the other patients nerves 🙁
When I put my jacket on, it will hopefully not be too noticeable.
Whoopsie! ?
You smell superb!
I felt like BWF today so I went with Dusita’s Fleur de l-something. Forget the exact spelling but I am enjoying it!
I’m tempted to sample that one. What’s the dominant floral to you in it?
I am getting a clean non-indolic jasmin. It’s very fresh and natural. Usually BWF give me headaches but not here. I like this much more then Douceur de Siam.
Thanks! I like DdS quite a bit so I’m curious about this one. I don’t love gardenia heavy white florals, so that’s why I asked.
I’m in PdN Neroli Intense for a beautiful sunny day.
I’m interested in this one. What do you think of it?
I love it and am almost done with my 30ml bottle I got in February. It’s on the sweeter side and is a little waxy from the beeswax. It’s very natural smelling. Pretty poor longevity on me, but lasts and smells great on clothing.
If you don’t mind…is it at all indolic? Heady?
No, it smells more like honied mandarins with a hint of tarragon.
Thank you! I love beeswax in perfume, so this keeps calling to me.
Plucked from the ‘impatient for spring’ sample pile: Creed Acqua Fiorentina. At first dab I felt nothing, just another whatever fruity floral, but it’s growing on me. I’m getting a decent dose of cedar and can pick out specific fruit (apple, grapefruit) instead of just a general airy sweetness. Maybe my bar for fruity-florals is low, but it’s above freezing outside now, so it must be working.
I had to run the defroster on the windshield this morning, which is an OUTRAGE, ha…
Same here. Teeters around freezing in the mornings still but we’re getting there!
Atelier Cologne Grand Neroli. Very nice but fleeting.
I was going for a 2nd day of Cap Neroli – but then the first swap packages arrived and I got distracted! In vintage Bois des Iles today. I like it, it’s very soft, and now I need to compare it to the current version to see if the vintage smells any different.
Also, it turns out that while I think Cap Neroli is perhaps my very favorite fragrance (just seems to fit me), my whole family strongly dislikes it.
Weird when there’s such an extreme opposite reaction, right? Part of my inhibition for buying that one is my husband said it smells like a new shower curtain ?
Yes, he made sure to tell me last night that when he got ready for work that morning, our bedroom smelled “strongly of perfume” – and he didn’t mean it as a compliment! When I tried the Neroli Intense, he followed me through the house with a wrinkled nose, trying to find out where that smell was coming from – and he’s not anti perfume, and usually doesn’t comment!
Sigh. And to me, Cap Neroli is so great.
He seems fine with and hasn’t commented on NI, which I find to be less challenging-it’s sweet and orange-y. What’s not to like?
A new shower curtain – whaaaaat?
?I can sort of see it, lol. Something about the minty, herbal quality of it. I guess if you don’t know what you’re smelling, you’ll make other associations.
You say it smells like a new shower curtain like that’s a bad thing. I’ve always gotten a kick out of that smell and the smell of rubber poolside stuff…
I love that smell!
Haha! I guess I assumed he thought that was a bad thing. I need to verify. I like a bit of new vinyl myself.
So crazy when everyone hates something you love. Wonder what part they hate??
I think it’s the Neroli part. I’m learning that most Neroli fragrances get a bit of a mothbally vibe on me. I think in Cap Neroli, this doesn’t happen (to my nose) because of the parsley note.
My husband, who is fairly tolerant of my perfumes, starts aggressively sniffing the air and asking about bug spray whenever I wear Knowing . . . He got me as a wife so I just figure that it is his cross to bear!
It’s comforting to hear many of you have a similar scent that sets your close ones off! 🙂
Agent Provocateur is the only scent the hubster actively doesn’t care for. I believe he said I smelled like his grandmother…or maybe a great aunt. ?
Oh, dear. When I was wearing Dilmun the other night, my boyfriend wrinkled his nose and said, “That’s very different than the kind of thing you usually wear. And kind of strong.” This from a man who happily sniffs my neck after my usual generous application of heavy orientals. There is no accounting for taste.
Guerlain’s Neroli O…. I can’t spell it
Ciao for now
That sounds like an extremely elegant French breakfast cereal 😉
Haha!
Hahaha! Totally ?
OJ and cereal in one bite. Very efficient.
That one is very lovely, but awfully spendy.
Feeling gourmand today – Kilian Black Phantom.
Nice!
Hi all, sotd is Ralph Lauren’s Safari. Today’s my Friday, I will be off for four days so have lots of fun and games planned over the weekend. 🙂
I’m sure Safari will get get you’re holiday off to a great start, you smell wonderful!
Safari’s got a nice grassy feel to it, like laying in a field.
Yay for being off for 4 days!
Great choice, I should pull that one out of the closet.
Aurora ~ Does Safari remind you of SSS’s Jour Ensoleillé? It has that same beautiful warm/green/golden vibe to it.
Hello SmokeyToes: Alas, I live in the UK so SSS completely passed me by. Safari has always reminded me a bit of the first Balmain Ivoire though.
Thanks Desirae, this is one of my long-time favorites. It’s so warm and green.
We’re meeting friends for Indian food on Saturday and we’ve got tickets to see Falsettos at Golden Gate Theater on Sunday afternoon. I’m looking forward to it!
It’s sad we don’t do evening shows any more but we just aren’t night folks. So it’s blue bird special or nothing! 😀
Nice!!! Enjoy that 4-day break!
Cap Neroli from a sample. I’m trying to decide between this and Neroli Intense for my next 30ml purchase to fill the Neroli gap in my collection.
Tough decision…
I’m in oldish but not vintage Mitsouko. I forgot that the last time i wore it it made my nose run, but that happened again today. I need to put it away for a while and see if my immune system can forget it.:-(
I am getting quite a list of OB scents to sample! This is a great CP. Tomorrow I will be in Seville a l’Aube, of course…
Mitsy is such a gorgeous scent, if I wear it on the right day. But I’m with you, it’s not every day that I can enjoy it.
I’ve had a couple of perfumes make my nose run, but I can’t remember what they were. So I guess it’s been a while since something has done that to me.
Guerlain Vetiver today! I was making a decant for the swapmeet last night, and it smelled so darned good that I needed some on myself today 🙂 Yum yum, I smell great. Kind of springy, really, like digging your hands into the earth and tugging on roots.
Speaking of roots: I saved a bunch of my green onion and leek bottoms from a couple weeks of cooking, and now they are doing pretty wonderfully in my pots! If I were to start over, I’d put more of the bottoms into the earth (so as to have more of the pungent white parts), but they have rooted beautifully, and I hope never to have to buy another bunch of green onions or leeks again! We’ll see how that hope goes.
Ooh exciting! Are green onions the same as spring onions? (the long ones u use in salad).
Nah, green onions are the same thing as scallions, but green onions and scallions go straight down, while spring onions have onion-like bulbs at the bottom. Check this out: https://www.thekitchn.com/whats-the-difference-between-spring-onions-scallions-and-green-onions-word-of-mouth-217111
But I certainly use green onions in salads and in dips and such!
I love Guerlain Vetiver! You smell super good. And yay for leeks and green onions!
Thank you! 🙂
You smell great and that’s such a good idea about the leeks and onions. I’ve thought of doing the same with green onions because we eat so many of them but I never remember.
How funny–I did it for just the opposite reason! You can only buy green onions in big bunches, but I only ever use one or two stalks at a time, and then I find myself speedily trying to use up the rest before they go bad! Guess it works out either way 🙂 Do try it–you need to start them in just water until they sprout roots and then transfer to earth (I hear you don’t actually ever have to put them in soil, but the water gets kind of yucky and I didn’t want to deal with that anymore).
I just put them in water. They do get thinner every time you do it, though. Usually after about the third time I harvest them, I toss them and buy new scallions.
That’s rather cool about your leeks and green onions. I’ve never tried rooting the bits that don’t get used. Then again, we haven’t been using either much (if at all) in cooking lately.
Absurdly busy morning at work; counting the hours until quitting time. But smelling great and on topic in 24F.
Smelling so good!
Thank You!
Hey Twin! You smell lovely! Hope your day flies by!
It didn’t quite fly, but it’s all over now. Hurrah!
OJ Tiare for me today which supposedly has orange flower in it. I’m going to have to go back to Dilettante tomorrow- it’s the only one I have which is really on theme, which makes me realize I need to try more orange blossom and neroli lol.
Tiare is so pretty! You smell great!
Inspired by someone wearing this yesterday, wearing Insolence edp, didn’t know orange blossom was in here, but I can smell it now. Such a cheerful scent for a cold spring day.
And on any cold spring day you need something cheerful (yes, I am going to complain about the weather all the way through the comments)…
Wearing Zelda by En Voyage, the booziest possible Magnolia. I’m sure there are are any literal liquor notes in it but that’s how it smells to me: like a floral, lightly spiced and caramelized drink. The kind of cocktail that is deceptively dangerous. It’s bewitching stuff.
Ohh, you smell lovely. I need to replace my bottle at some point.
Oh that’s one of my favorites, I wish I’d worn it today! You smell wonderful.
Great description!
SOTD = Chanel 1957
When I first tried this on paper, I dismissed it as generic musk. After reading all the accolades and having the opportunity to get it at less than list price, I pounced. It is perfect for spring and summer and very office appropriate – sweet lightly floral (orange blossom) effervescent soapy vanilla musk.
I got the 75mL as I won’t make a dent in a 200 mL bottle. Since the bottle is brand new except for what I sprayed this morning, I am willing to split off 30mLs in 5mL increments. I got it at ~ 12% discount from the $200 list price, including tax. U.S. only. Email me and I will respond to the regular NSTers; I will add a comment here when It’s full. Thanks.
Yay!
Split closed. I’ve replied to each email and will be sending out the details later.
I’m wearing VC&A Lys Carmin, my second favorite of the line–California Reverie is #1.
I love almost every one in this line! ?
Wish I’d come across that before they discontinued it.
HG Dilettante today. Wowza, talk about an indolic orange blossom! This one is definitely not your clean, run of the mill neroli/orange blossom. All the HG perfumes I’ve tried are so unique. They feel like they would be right at home in the 70s/80s. ?
And now I want to sample all the Hiram Greens.
I hope you get an opportunity to try some. I haven’t tried every one. But those that I’ve tried are so unique.
Time for me to set a lemming trap and catch it before it runs riot.
Good luck ?
i couldn’t decide what to wear today so decided to give up on seasonal perfume and go for papillon anubis – delicious resins and smokiness. it’s surprisingly subtle on skin but i did get a compliment from a friend when we hugged!
Ooh I love this one, Anubis is on my full Bottle list!
Does anyone know what is likely to happen to Vero Profumo, now Vera Kern is no longer with us? Rubj edp is my very favourite orange blossom, and am hoping to own a bottle in the future, all uk stockists seem to be out of stock.. thanks guys.
Cazaubon is the source of all perfume knowledge! ? The most recent info I’ve gotten from that erudite source is that there will another “batch” offered. Luckyscent is advertising some of them again, and you can put yourself on their email list to be notified when new stock arrives.
Thanks Deva, I will ask cazaubon, I’m in the UK, and don’t want to pay luckyscent shipping costs.
Like some among you, I decided to give l’Heure Bleue a twirl. The sillage is really something else. I went with vintage EDT but I use the parfum de toilette for special occasions. It has orange blossom but there is so much going on in that perfume (it was my second perfume when I was 18).
Robin, I’m enjoying the painting.
Me too. That expression! With two teen boys in the house it is a daily occurrence.
It lives at the National Gallery in DC, so is one I actually know personally 🙂
Wearing Silences by Jacomo- the only vintage fragrance I have and it smells glorious!
Quick PSA: if you are a fan of SL Iris Silver Mist fragrancenet has 1 oz. travel spray for about $44.
Question for you guys:
Will it be silly to list a bottle of Sunday Riley Good Genes in the swapmeet? I bought it in early Jannuary 2019 and used it 5-6 times (one pump each). It is 0.5 oz (15 ml) and it doesn’t work for my skin.
I don’t think it’s silly! Listing is free and you never know…
Love Silences.
Must.not.buy.more.iris…
Vintage Silences sounds even more wonderful!
Wearing Agent Provacateur today for no particular reason. After reading through the comments, I wish that I would have chosen Zelda and I probably won’t change perfumes this evening because AP is quite tenacious.
Well, I went to the hoarder estate sale yesterday, excited for perfume possibilities, and I am sorry to say it was a bust. There was SO much stuff in this house and so many shoppers, that it was overwhelming but I spotted the perfume corner right away. Sadly it was all Evening in Paris gift sets and bottles, and a bunch of cheap looking bottles of perfume I’ve never heard of. I was so thrilled that I didn’t see any Avon in the ad – then as I was making my way through the house, I found a whole closet stuffed with Avon products lol, not perfume but old makeup and skincare, yuck. My young friend/extra daughter made out like a bandit on vintage clothes, though, and it was fun to help her spend her money. In my case, I bought a couple little things for the grand total of four bucks 🙂
Oh drat!! Glad you had fun anyway.
Bummer on the perfume fail, but at least the estate sale wasn’t a total bust.
Too bad about the perfumes but it sounded like fun anyways.
59 degrees and not raining! Today I am wearing Kelly Caleche from a dabber sample. It’s sitting very close to the skin, so I look like a weirdo sniffing my wrist all day at work.
Good news! Barneys sent me my gwp travel spray of AdV! And didn’t ask for the beauty bag back. I felt a little bad about that, but then I remembered that the second person I talked to was really rude. Happy with the outcome. I will be smelling great and properly moisturized for some time to come!??????
Yay, success!
Yes!
Oh, yay! Glad they made good on that. And a customer should never have to return a gift they sent in error. Their problem.
I agree, but the first 2 people I talked to were so persistent in letting me know that they had sent me the holy grail of beauty bags. I really thought they would ask for it back.
Whoo hoo! That’s great news about you getting the correct GWP! Enjoy it all.
Thanks, I will!
Yay! Glad that it worked out for you!
Thanks, Petunia!
Hooray! And the Barneys Beauty Bag IS the mother of all beauty bags (for me…others may have a different opinion).
Oh yes, it is quite awesome. It just bothered me that they were so dismissive about what I thought was valuable.
Yay! Glad they came through for you! Enjoy?
Joining many others in Cap Neroli. Or, for ElisaP’s husband we can call it Rideau de Douche.
Impulse splurge on tickets to see King Lear with Glenda Jackson. Now I’m nervous, since I’m not that familiar with the play. I love Shakespeare, but that is some seriously complicated plot. Hope I won’t be confused.
I love Lear! If the performances are strong, you won’t be confused. Just keep track of Kent, who plays a crazy beggar for most of the play to stay close to Lear. It’s a nonstop train to sad town, but’s it’s so satisfying.
Oh my. I am green with envy. I adore both Lear and Glenda. Please report back. Pretty please.
Ha! Sounds great in French.
Hello beloveds. I am wearing Hindu Honeysuckle today. We have our draft report of a year-long project I’ve been working on due next week, so I’ve spent the entirrrre day cutting and pasting and formatting 350 pages of appendices. I am taking strength from perfume and Combos.
Blech. But at least it will be over soon, right?
Yuck and double yuck! Appendices are some of the worst parts about writing a report, IMO.
Today I’m wearing L’Artisan Au Bord de l’Eau.
I’m in Chanel 19 EDT today, and enjoying it even more than usual (which is saying a lot!). Happy Friday Eve, everyone.
Ditto and ditto! Translation: I am also wearing no. 19 and the feelings you describe about it mirror my own. I love this one, especially for transitional days between winter and spring….Happy no. 19, SheriG!
Penhaligons Violetta today.
Such a pretty one.
Was sniffing around Le Labo fragrances the other day and decided that if a bottle of Tonka 25 landed in my lap, I would wear it happily. Another 13, on the other hand, was a complete mystery to me–and my son who was with me. We both got alcohol and not much else. Looking at the notes, it appears that there is a decent dosage of synthetic animal musk in it–so perhaps I am simply anosmic to it. Has anyone else tried Another 13?
SOTD is SSS’s Sienna Musk, which has some orange-y something in there but not neroli. This scent puts me in a very good mood.
Another 13 is hard to smell in the store. I was able to smell it on skin pretty well after I left- it’s a dryish, woody affair in the vein of Molecule 01 etc. Not my thing.
And by the time we left the shop, I was a patchwork quilt of perfume and wouldn’t be able to discern a particular perfume anyway– except for Tempo, which was tenacious! I couldn’t smell Molecule 01 either, however.
Did you like Tempo?
Another 13 has a lot of Iso-super E in it . It reminds me strongly of Byredo’s Super Cedar. It smells good to me but my husband is completely unable to smell it.
Me and your husband both! I like perfumes with Iso-Super E, but perhaps I only like how it impacts other chemicals/notes and cannot really detect it on its own… curiouser and curiouser!
Another person in Cap Neroli. I haven’t worn it yet this week and I just had to because it was on my list of perfumes to not forget to wear for the project. It smells very good, but somehow, the daffodils I brought home from the store today and in a vase near me right now are overpowering it.
You guys are a big crowd today!
I’m back working at the office today! I’ve never been so excited for a mostly normal day at work. The other location I was at Mon-Wed was freshly renovated and very nice, but I just want my own desk with my usual coworkers around me. I am in Seville a L’aube today. Yesterday was spent in Serge Fleur d’Oranger. I hadn’t worn it in a long time, and I found it almost identical to Houbigant Oranger en Fleurs. I’ve had my bottle a long time from a swap on MUA, but I don’t smell cumin in it so I doubt it’s the original formulation.
I cannot decide but might join you in Seville tomorrow.
Tomorrow I’ll probably go with Neroli Dore.
That’s my other possible.
Hurray for being back to your usual routine!
Yes! I’m still working later hours the rest of this week, but at least I’m where I should be.
⚾️I’m wafting Cuir de Lancôme in honor of Opening Day.⚾️ I topped it off with a spritz of N°5 because Fragrantica says it has orange blossom (even if Chanel doesn’t).
Have a great afternoon, all.
Some sport must be starting its season then? (ha)
Ha!?
Yay to opening day! I worked through the game but Detroit won! ⚾
Sorry not sorry Toronto ?
Congrats! My team…really did not.?
Today I noticed leaf buds and flower buds on the crab apple tree by my front door starting to unfurl. My neighbor’s forsythia bush now has a yellow haze of buds on it. And I heard frogs peeping in a swamp that lies next to my dentist’s office. Spring is coming in slowly but surely! ?????
SOTD = Bottega Veneta Knot, from the sample stash. This is so pretty! But it needs to come in a travel spray, not a full bottle. At least I’d have a chance of making a dent in a travel spray.
VEEEEEERRRRYYY slowly!! Not well pleased here! But yes, at least it is sunny and I went out this afternoon with only a vest instead of my whole down jacket.
Mr. Jalapeno commented about the crab apple tree budding when he came home from work tonight. So it isn’t an illusion.
I loved the opening of knot and almost bought it immediately but by the time I found it, it was in dryer sheet territory. Still, the opening was so nice!
Yes, that opening is gorgeous! I thankfully do not get dryer sheet… that’s a deal breaker for me. I have yet to sniff the Extreme version of Knot.
Knot is so pretty, but one of the few perfumes that will give me a piercing headache every time. I wish I knew what is in it, that I can’t handle.
Aw, sorry to hear that Knot goes so wrong for you. Best to avoid headache-making perfumes for sure!
? Doo-on’t stop… beleeeeevin’?
Spring _will_ get here, right? I want cherry blossoms so bad I can almost taste ’em…
If you believe it, they will come! ???
I wouldn’t be surprised to see the spring birds showing up any day now. ??
Definitely not.
SOTD has been Boucheron “Jaipur Homme”.
Top: lime, bergamot, cardamom and lemon;
Mid: carnation, cinnamon, jasmine and rose;
Base: tonka, patchouli, benzoin and cedar.
It’s a great name, right? And the notes look interesting. I’ve been curious to try it for a while.
And now I know. :^/
What do you know? I’ve been interested in Jaipur as well. You usually provide your opinion. ?
Really! There was a long-discontinued feminine version that was much beloved, I understand. Are you waiting to corner the market at the discounters before you wax poetic?
Wearing a couple drops Houbigant Orangers en Fleurs on 1 wrist, and a few sprays of AG Neroli on the other wrist. I must say, Houbigant made some fabulous fragrances.
Although I am liking the green part I’m noticing in the Neroli, so I just have to spray more often.
how lovely a portrait of Cy Young winner for opening day!
I had to google it. He does look like Ren boy!

Love the Renaissance side eye there, Robin!
My left arm is in Jubilation 25 and is confused. I get some fruit salad, but that’s about all. Everyone seems to love this one, so maybe my nose is broken.
My right arm is in Le Galion Sang Bleu, and is annoyed that I didn’t read up on this one before spritzing. It’s a barbershop lavender and not for me.
Right wrist has a bit of Arquiste Boutonnière 7. Sigh….still can’t wear gardenia.
More testing tomorrow! ?
Keep up the good work! I know many love Jub. 25 but it didn’t work for me either. I have a low tolerance for fur.
Thanks! I’m glad to be on another testing jag. ?
Jubilation 25 was nothing but a sort of brown smell to me, the scent equivalent of burlap. The current version of Rochas Femme and Yvresse both smelled exactly the same, though, so I’m pretty sure it was my nose.
Noses can be so funny. It’s a mystery!
I’m wearing PdN’s Kiss Me Tender, a decant swapped with a super duper generous perfumista here, while I knot gemstones. So soothing!
? Glad you like it.
Are you stringing a necklace? If you’re knotting actual gemstones, I assume you have some sort of magical powers.
Just reapplied some Phoenix Botanicals Night Bloom, which is heady and lovely and heavy on the orange blossom. It’s my only “natural” perfume. It lasts a sold four hours on me, which is better than many current edts. Yesterday I was in L’Heure Bleue edp, which is cheating a bit, but it has neroli in it, lightening up the heart little. It’s a favorite of my boyfriend’s, which leads me to a question, if anyone reads this—would you eat a gift of food given to you by your boyfriend’s or girlfriend’s ex?
That depends on the Xs personality! If she’s pining for him, orobably not! ?
Fat fingers… probably not…
I would not eat it.
Good to know I’m not the only suspicious person. I mean, she’s objectively a wonderful human being, so I probably have no reason to be concerned, but I’m pretty sure she does want him back.
