Lyn Harris is in hot pursuit of lilacs. On a recent spring morning, the revered British perfumer makes her way through a sea of wild grass and cow parsley in an untamed quarter of London’s Regent’s Park. “It’s so idyllic,” she says of the springtime scene: In this quiet corner, the incessant hum of central London traffic is eclipsed — almost — by birdsong and bell chimes from St. Marylebone Church.

Nice little article. I feel like I would have the same interest in foraging and creating seasonally taking inspiration from nature if I were a perfumer. I only wish it was possible to smell her line without going to London. I still love L’air de Rien, Figue Amere, and Fleur du Matin. I haven’t kept up with MH after she sold the company.
I don’t know why they don’t have good distribution anymore — they used to be much easier to find.
They’ve also culled some of the collection – at least Figue Amere, Fleur du Matin and Fleur de Sel all appear to have gone the way of the Dodo, and right now L’Air de Rien is on sale on the UK website…
