Repetto Dance with Repetto ~ new perfume

Posted by Robin on 22 January 2018 14 Comments

Dance with Repetto

French dance shoe & leather goods company Repetto has launched Dance with Repetto, a new fragrance for women.

Dance with Repetto is an ode to the dancer and the woman emancipation.

The bottle suggests by its work in soft curve, the curved silhouette of a moving dancer.

The crisp quality of raspberry Macaroon that composes the top notes in the fragrance is underscored by the freshness and luminosity of Magnolia and Freesia.

Then, the elegant and ultra-feminine floral middle notes appear centre-stage: Heliotrope and Peony are brought together by dash of Jasmine Petals.

Added sensuality is provided by the Tonka Bean, which mingle with the sweetness of Madagascan Vanilla. Meanwhile, the Patchouli Prisma makes this unique trail a true olfactory signature...

The gourmand woody oriental is geared towards a more mature audience than the prior Repetto perfumes. It was developed by perfumers Nathalie Lorson, Annick Ménardo and Olivier Cresp.

Repetto Dance with Repetto is sold in 40, 60 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

Wow, that is quite a line-up of star perfumers!

What do you suppose “macaroon” signals? An almond note?

I think they meant macaron — so something raspberry – biscuity?

Despite the involvement of Annick Menardo, one of my favorite noses, I’m afraid that notes of raspberry, freesia, and peony make this one a trifecta of no for me.

Bonus points for the purple prose of ‘Patchouli Prisma’ (made a proper noun, no less).

I believe Patchouli Prisma is some sort of exclusive aromachemical trademarked by one of the big perfume labs. Nomenclature did an entire fragrance with it, iirc.

Interesting! I missed the Nomenclature fragrance; will have to read up on this ‘note.’ Thanks!

It does not sound appealing to me either. It won’t probably make it to the US so no worries either way.

“Trifecta of no” sums up my feelings perfectly . . .

I love the idea of a French ballet shoe company producing a fragrance – they could have included leather, or rosin, or sweat, or some sort of blend that makes one think of satin or tulle – or bright lights or the boards on a stage…or not, in this case ????

They did. The original fragrance is Repetto.

Except it smelled nothing like you would have hoped for. IIRC, it was a pretty, sheer, rosy thing. Dullsville, lol.

Freshness/luminosity + peony and freesia = screechy floral
