We're starting off this year's holiday gift series with scented body products of all kinds, and as always, do add any of your own recommendations in the comments! There are seven more posts to come.
My own favorite, just for the spiffy packaging: Cartier La Panthére Powder De Parfum Étincelante. "A shimmering La Panthére Perfume Powder leaving on the skin a velvety veil. A product offering a new sensual gesture, to be layered with the Eau de Parfum and the Shimmering Eau de Parfum for a perfect ritual." $75 for 100g at Neiman Marcus.
From Rodin Olio Lusso, a prettily-packaged trio of limited edition face oils: "This holiday season Linda wanted to showcase her family of face oils in limited edition half size bottles packaged in cartons wrapped in three of her favorite vintage prints. Jasmine & Neroli, Lavender Absolute, and Geranium & Orange Blossom face oils can each be purchased as a standalone stocking stuffer, or give the gift of the trinity." $89 each for 15 ml at Rodin.
The classic Chanel No. 5 in the limited edition Fragments d'Or gel: "A silky, shimmering body gel scented with the now and forever fragrance and accented with delicate flecks of golden glitter. [...] Apply N°5 GOLD FRAGMENTS on pulse points or across the décolleté . . . anywhere you want to highlight." I am guessing quite a few perfumistas will be buying one for themselves this year? $90 for 250 ml at Chanel.
From Cinq Mondes, the Aromacology Bath & Shower Oil Collection, with five 30 ml bottles of Phyto-Aromatic Shower and Bath Oil (in the scents Java, Atlas, Bangalore, Siam and Kyoto). "Relieve tension and maintain silky-smooth skin with CINQ MONDES Aromacology Bath & Shower Oil Collection. Featuring five unique formulas, this set includes essential oils that aid in establishing and maintaining healthy skin while vitamin E relieves dryness and fights free radicals. This precious set is an ideal holiday gift for yourself or loved ones." $33 at Dermstore.
From Weekends & Chocolate, Artisan Bath Fizzles in the Nightcap Dreams fragrance, with sandalwood, whiskey and oak. "A forbidden dance in the starlit shadows of dusk, crisp and warm sandalwood intertwines with threads of hynotic whiskey and oak. Embrance the longing to step into an edgy, atmospheric world as this sensual vision enraptures your soul and soothes the mind. Just drop two or three into your bath to activate their comforting aroma and moisturizing properties." $28 for 350g at Bigelow Chemists.
From Compagnie de Provence, a Black Tea Ceremony gift set, with 300 ml liquid Marseille soap, 300 ml hand cream and 180g candle, all scented with black tea and blackberry. €54 at Compagnie de Provence. (I could not find this gift set in the US, but you can find all the separate components at Amazon.)
From Aesop, the Concord gift set: "The Concord Gift Kit references the Robber Cave Experiment, examining ways in which we can initiate harmony when social situations go awry. It comprises three harmonious products that work well together for top-to-toe care." With 200 ml A Rose By Any Other Name Body Cleanser, 75 ml Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm and 60 ml Immediate Moisture Facial Hydrosol. £45 at SpaceNK, or $70 at Need Supply.
From Memo's new bath & body collection, the Kedu fragrance in Gentle Body Wash ($62), Smooth Body Cream ($69) and Soft Hand Cleansing Gel ($48). 250 ml each, at Memo Paris.
Agree with you on the Cartier powder–the packaging is enticing. That said, I never use dusting powder, so it’d probably languish on a shelf.
Glad I got the No 5 body oil last year, I’ve zero interest in a glittery gel.
F Malle sent an email this morning advertising the body butters–promptly deleted it. Don’t even want to know the asking price!
I never use powder AND I don’t like Panthere. Still want it, ha.
I will not tell you the price of the body butters.
I love the packaging, too! And I’m a hard sell on packaging. I’m not sure I’ve ever tried Panthere.
Well, how bad could it be in a powder anyway 😉
“Seven more posts to come” 😀 I love oogling all those festive products….though I rarely buy them.
I never buy them either! I think oogling is more fun.
Perfume gel w gold flecks? Eeeeeeeeuuuuuuuuu. ????????????
I enjoy these posts tho v. much!
I saw it in person recently – not a fan of the gold flecks. Wish I’d bought the body oil last year like galbanumgal above.
Sparkles are popular! But I don’t want them either.
Not a huge fan of body glitter either, but the Chanel dry oil spray from last year is truly fantastic and I am so glad I sprang for it.
Never heard of “Weekends and Chocolate,” but pretty sure I can get behind that idea! Also, never had a bath fizzle since I have only a shower at home. Hmmm, sounds nice…
So far they don’t seem to make any shower products, which is too bad.
I like this brand already!
I would think the Chanel sparkles would be better suited to Gabrielle, or Coco Mad….
Yes…surprised they didn’t do it for Gabrielle! But guessing they’ll sell tons of the No. 5.
I tried the Chanel Fragments d’Or several days ago at a local department store and honestly — I wouldn’t say no to a bottle! I have other things on my wishlist in that price range that I’d rather have, but the lotion is very silky, it smells like Chanel No. 5 but quieter, and the sparkles are pretty — very soft and unobtrusive on the skin, but they definitely catch the light! They reminded me of my Vol de Nuit shimmer powder, which I love and adore. Fragments d’Or would be gorgeous as a layer under Eau Premiere or L’Eau for a dressy night out.
It is lovely, I think I am going to get it as a gift to myself
Yay! I hope you enjoy your treat! Let us know how you decide to wear it! I would get it for one of my daughters, as I no longer “highlight” my skin this way, but they don’t care for N. 5. And it is recognizably No. 5.
So glad you chimed in! I really do think a lot of people here will end up buying it.
I hope a lot of people at least try it in person, I think they may be pleasantly surprised at how pretty it is on the skin. And that bottle — in real life it is SO pretty!
That little Cinq Mondes set is tempting (I love their Eau Egyptienne body spray) but I need to stop with the shopping . . .
I like Egyptienne too, and I like at least 2 or 3 of the scents in that collection (one of them is rice-y, and esp. like that one). Not a massive fan of bath oil so that might save me…
The Memo line is tempting. Too lazy to look but if Kedu is the scent with sesame, the body wash will be fabulous.
Yep, it’s the sesame 🙂
