French niche line Parfums de Nicolaï has launched Patchouli Sublime, a new fragrance.
In keeping with the legacy of Nicolai, Patchouli Sublime elevates the most classic material used in perfumery, patchouli, and reveals its sumptuous qualities, both verdant and smooth. Patchouli Sublime’s appeal is in how the exquisite blend unfolds, starting from its high-altitude crisp beginning. If we were to compare it to its predecessor, Patchouli Intense, we would call them cousins – one of the earth, one of the sky.
The notes include lavender, mint, coriander, geranium, rose, tonka bean, tobacco, patchouli, musk and amber.
Parfums de Nicolaï Patchouli Sublime is available now at Luckyscent, $425 for 35 ml Elixir de Parfum.

The price is a bit eye-popping. I assume Elixir de Parfum must mean something like an extrait for that price.
Even for extrait, it is pretty darned expensive.
Pretty high-altitude!
Oof – I was intrigued until I saw that price.
I’m glad I have so many bottles in my collection because a lot of the new perfumes being launched are quite unaffordable.
I think these are mainly aimed at the super rich. I tried the Oud out of that same collection when I was in Paris in March. I’m glad the other Nicolaï’s are more affordable.
