More limited edition collector fragrance bottles, with the usual disclaimers: in most of these cases, the juice is unchanged, just the bottle is “special” (or not, as the case may be), and some of these may not be available in the US. Today's post includes solid perfume compacts and jewelry from Estee Lauder, collector bottles from Zadig et Voltaire, and a new collector case for Thierry Mugler Angel.
From Estee Lauder's latest collection of limited edition solid perfume compacts by luxury jewelry designer Monica Rich Kosann, the Beautiful Sea Goddess Perfume Compact. $250 at Neiman Marcus.
From the same collection at Neiman Marcus, the Muse Dancing Starfish Perfume Compact and the Beautiful Whimsical Fish Perfume Compact, $250 each.
And, the Pleasures Garden Flower Perfume Compact, $250.
The Modern Muse Golden Articulated Fish Necklace and the Beautiful Love Locket Necklace, $200 each.
The Pleasures Exotic Bird Perfume Compact, $275.
Zadig & Voltaire This is Him! and This is Her! in a new capsule collection decorated by tattoo artist Virginia Elwood, available in 20 or 50 ml at Douglas in Germany.
The latest collector case for Thierry Mugler Angel ("Presented in an arty case with a new feminine pink design, this refillable bottle and case allows you to protect and dress up your iconic Angel bottle.") £54 at John Lewis in the UK.
I remember the Estee Lauder Limited Edition solid perfume compacts from many many years ago ( I’m talking 1970s here!) but I don’t remember those high prices!!! When did they become so expensive?
The “regular” ones aren’t all that bad, but when they do these collections with jewelers, they’re always expensive. Usually around Xmas they have a wider range of prices.
Ah, OK that now makes sense! I guess in the 70s they did not expect folks to drop a wad of cash for solid perfume as I only remember the less expensive ones in the local dept store 🙂
I’ve seen many EL compacts (idk if the solid perfume remains in those) on Etsy (no affiliation) some are reasonably priced around $10.
BTW – the 3 eyed owl cookies! ????
I have one from about 20 years ago with my astrological sign on it – my very frugal mother gave it to me and there’s no way she paid anything like $250, even in 1990s dollars!
No, but she might have paid the 1990s equivalent of $99? I think that’s what the non-jeweler ones usually run.
Yesssss, 3 eyed cookie owl!! Woot woot!! 🙂
I thought it would be have been cool if any of the sea-themed compacts contained Bronze Goddess. The fish necklace looks like it would go especially well with some kind of bohemian summer dress.
I love the Pleasures bird though I’d prefer Youth Dew, thanks!
Whichever one I like, it always holds a fragrance I don’t like 🙂
Me too, not that I’d buy it anyway 😉
I would like it better if that was a bottle design for Angel, instead of being a case.
Yeah. The cases are their latest thing though.
Sometimes I think of cultivating a taste for an EL perfume just for the pleasure of saving up for one of these compacts.
The Beautiful Sea Goddess Perfume Compact is very pretty and pretty the price also…….
Yep!
EL used to, and still maybe does, collaborate with Jay Strongwater. I have the Owl (with perfume solid of ummm don’t recall as I only cared about the Owl) in the collection. I got my sister a Tiger solid – kinda tiny (similar to the size of my thumb) and very intricately detailed.
I like the Angel case!
Yes, his were nice!
So if we are only judging the bottles.
For once (if i were to buy things like these) my taste works in favour of my wallet haha.
I dont like bling. So i would be perfectly happy with the pretty Z&V Virginia Elwood collab.
Their cliché branding and awfully thin models aside, I like their clothing. This summer I bought a Z&V virginia elwood top (discounted of course). So cute!
…after a closer inspection I must admit,
The EL fish and starfish look very cute together and would not mind taking one of them with me on a night out. Haha.
Dont know about the fragrance though..
