British niche line Ormonde Jayne has launched White Gold, the third fragrance in the series that started with Black Gold and Rose Gold.
The completion of the Gold Trilogy, Ormonde Jayne’s White Gold captures the beauty of white, jasmine absolute, white musk, orchids. Enter the assertiveness of grasse jasmin absolute purring alongside white musk, simply out perfuming any other alliance. You will have little problem making it centre stage with this perfume. Wear it as your second skin, day and night, any season and any occasion.
Additional notes include leaf green molecule, pink pepper, mandarin, bergamot, clary sage, carnation, orris, freesia, vanilla, ambrette, cashmeran, amber, moss, tonka, labdanum, opoponax, vetiver and cedar.
Ormonde Jayne White Gold is available now at Selfridges in the UK, in 50 or 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

I haven’t tried any of the gold series, or anything later than the first say, ten perfumes from OJ, all of which I either loved or really, really, liked. The initial spray and the next 30 minutes of any Ormonde Jayne perfume are transportive – in that brief period of time, I have to talk myself out of rushing to their website and buying a full bottle (thus far, I’ve managed to do this for every one but Woman, which I happily own).
It seems like they are going in some sort of direction, but one that leaves me puzzled – I can’t quite figure out from the website why only some of the scents are listed under the Perfume tab, some have their own tab, some can be sampled in the Discovery Set while others can only be sampled in a Petit Four box, etc.
That said, I’ve never been disappointed with any perfume I’ve tried from Ormonde Jayne – if I had the means, I’d own every one of the perfumes that come in the Discovery Set.
They have basically moved in a more upscale direction since they started. I sort of stopped trying them after that — partially because I never heard the newer ones were any better than the older ones. But I’m sure someone loves them!
