The new "fragrance paintbrush" from Jo Loves won't debut until the fall, but I know some of you will want it on your shopping list. It looks an awful lot like the new Byredo Kabuki, but it's liquid instead of powder. The gel formula reportedly took 3 years to develop, and according to Jo Malone, it dries on the skin in seconds. Look for it in Pomelo, Green Orange and Coriander, and possibly other scents as well, at about £40 for 18 ml. (via cosmeticsbusiness)

The scents sound interesting, but I’m just not convinced that the paint-on application method is anything more than a gimmick. The only thing I can think of that would make this more appealing to me than a regular spray bottle is that maybe it’s more portable and less prone to spillage?
I would agree it’s a gimmick, just like the kabuki things, but they’re fun gimmicks! Wish in both cases that the gimmicks didn’t cost so much, since that does make them less fun.
Robin, I don’t recall if you announced this. The Scentinvent team recently launched a pure parfum serum, with serum being a new perfume application vehicle. Serums are gel-like so I’m thinking the perfume industry is just catching up to the rest of the beauty world.

Interesting, would love to know if that is silicone-based! If so, it’s the same as every dry oil already out there, and it won’t have a good shelf life.
