Bottega Veneta Parco Palladiano VII, VIII & IX ~ new fragrances

Bottega Veneta Parco Palladiano VII, VIII and IX

Bottega Veneta will extend the Parco Palladiano collection with three unisex fragrances this month: Parco Palladiano VII, VIII and IX.

Parco Palladiano VII ~ Developed by perfumer Michel Almairac. "Parco Palladiano VII conjures the pale light of dawn over the lilacs in the garden. A gentle morning breeze imparts the fresh and powdery scent of the flowers over the subtle salt of the water of the Venice laguna. [...] An intense and luminous musky floral composition, Parco Palladiano VII has a pale lavender juice, recalling the precious petals of the lilac flower."

Parco Palladiano VIII ~ Developed by perfumer Mylène Alran. "Parco Palladiano VIII brings to life a tranquil stroll through the orange orchard, in the early afternoon when the sun is at its height. Near the villa, the trees are in full bloom, filling the air with the aroma of sweet and honeyed neroli infused with the woodiness of the bark."

Parco Palladiano IX ~ Developed by perfumer Sidonie Lancesseur. "Parco Palladiano IX calls to mind the end of the day, as the sun begins to descend below the horizon and the cool air of the early evening sets in. It is only when the darkness begins to cast its shadows, that the sensual violet flower grows, radiating a muskiness as it spreads around the stones of the garden’s villa. [...] The plum-colored juice, captivating in its intensity, is a rare combination of floral woody notes emblematic of the house."

Bottega Veneta Parco Palladiano VII, VIII and IX will be €265 each for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

I doubt I will ever come across these… but I sure am weary of scents being named with numbers… It is such a strange marketing trick–All numbered scents fade to nothing in my diminishing brain capacity. The exception are the Chanels, but then there are only a handful of Chanel No.s and two of them are so iconic that they defy all the rules…

I hate it too. It was one thing when there were a few hundred fragrances a year, but now…

This brings this collection to 10, and there are 10 others if you count flankers & variations. So, 20 since 2011.

They could very well be excellent, but these exclusive, group launches are too limited in distribution and more often than not prohibitive expensive to justify the search for them.

They sound more my thing than the first six but from the descriptions could easily be musk bombs. I like the original BV edp…

I remember trying these at Bergdorf. The SA was perplexed, confused and incredulous when one after the other, I either wrinkled my nose, said no or recoiled. No. 8 sounds promising.

I sniffed the first six at the Bottega Veneta boutique at South Coast Plaza in Orange County. They were pleasant but far too light and fleeting to justify a purchase, especially at that price.
