Bvlgari has launched the Splendida collection, with three fragrances — Splendida Rose Rose, Splendida Jasmin Noir and Splendida Iris D'Or — representing "a journey to the heart of the three most iconic flowers".
Splendida Rose Rose ~ "SPLENDIDA ROSE ROSE is an embellished and ultra-feminine floral bouquet signature which captures all the uniqueness of the legendary Damask Rose. The fragrance opens on a deliciously fruity, melting accord of sparkling mandarin and white blackberry. The intense pink floral heart faithfully reproducing the quintessence of Damask Rose is softened and rendered powdery by the combined effect of woody patchouli, sandalwood, vetiver and musk. A fragrance evoking the soft, voluptuous, precious facets of the queen of flowers, the Rose."
Splendida Jasmin Noir ~ "SPLENDIDA JASMIN NOIR fragrance signature is the juxtaposition of pure, opulent florality and extremely dry wood. Its green gardenia and sap top notes already reveal bright jasmine accents. A floral heart of Jasmine Sambac Absolute expresses opulence and deploys its hypnotic effect, amplified by sweet notes of milky almond satin. The intensity of patchouli, the vibration of cashmere wood and addictiveness of tonka bean impart a warm, powdery sillage. An elegant floral oriental scent that is sensual, addictive and boldly feminine."
Splendida Iris D'Or ~ "SPLENDIDA IRIS D’OR is a light, solar and radiant fragrance of unique powdery composition, exuding a luxurious golden aura in the image of the flower that inspired it. The top green and crisp notes of violet elegantly allied with vaporous facets of mimosa reveal the splendor and the sensuality of a heart of Iris Absolute. The woody sillage offers the roundness to the fragrance, wrapped in refined base notes of natural sandalwood and milky tonka bean. A sensually chic signature with a sophisticated allure, delicate and unpredictable."
Bvlgari Splendida Rose Rose, Splendida Jasmin Noir and Splendida Iris D'Or were developed by perfumer Sophie Labbé. They are available in 50 and 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

I’m salivating over Iris d’Or 😀
Can someone lend me a napkin?
Me, too!
Me three!
I guess I ought to be. But “light, solar and radiant” sounds like a riff on Infusion d’Iris?
I was thinking of a luxed-up Omnia Amethyst!
I still want to try it!
Rose Rose is a bit of a tautology, but Rose Rouge would need another bottle I guess.
I’d love to smell the Iris too! Can’t imagine what iris absolute must cost. I’ve only seen orris butter for sale, which is very expensive. An absolute must be exorbitantly costly.
If they were going to do Rose Rose, they should have done Iris Iris and Jasmin Jasmin.
Bugs me also that Jasmin Noir is an existing fragrance in identical packaging — they couldn’t even come up with a new name? Or a new color? Something to distinguish it for consumers?
(I swear I’m not particularly grumpy today, I just find this concept sloppy.)
I definitely just lost a few minutes trying to figure out if the existing Jasmin Noir had been discontinued or relaunched, and then trying to sort out the flankers and such. It’s confusing!
Not cranky, just reasonable! Why have two separate products called the same thing?
No judgment on George Foreman, but how do his kids know who he is calling for?
HA — I never knew this about George Foreman! At least the girls all got different names.
I am also up for iris! Pass me a napkin.
There you are, sorry but it’s a bit wet 😀
I wonder what connection there is between Splendida Jasmin Noir and Jasmin Noir (both Sophie Labbe)?
I would be more excited if there were a single Sophie Labbe perfume I really liked. O d’Azur, Cologne du 68, and Organza are all pretty good.
It is hard to tell from the PR materials I have seen. At least one place said it was about better materials, but I’m waiting to find something “official” and in English. Here is a machine translation from the German at Cosmoty, that does not make it any clearer:
“In 2008, Bulgari presented with Jasmin Noir an innovative and expressive new style: a fragrance that broke with all previous principles of perfume production by combining a pure and opulent floral component with a very dry, woody note. Splendida Jasmin Noir also uses these chords, which can not be more contradictory – from the name to the combination of the ingredients. Luminous and mysterious, elegant and addictive, a fragrance so delicate as the white flower whose name he wears. His antithesis is an expression of the daring for which the Roman jewelery house stands.”
What? I don’t even think it’s a problem with the translation, bad as it may be, but with the original source materials from Bvlgari.
Hmm, wonder how splendid the prices will be on the Splendidas. Probably splendy, er spendy.
At Heathrow, £54.40 for 50 ml and £77.60 for 100 ml
Oh i was sure they were relaunches of their old: Jasmin noir, Rose essentielle and Bvlgari Femme. Maybe they got a little “reformulation” lifting but they seem quite similar to me. Just the need to put them in a “collection”
I latch onto any rose fragrance like a lamprey, but “white blackberry”?
