I am so pleased to see that the Scenting My Mental Illness article won. That was an amazing piece that spoke to a great many people.
Off to read the rest….
And I still need to read it! Glad to hear it was amazing.
Yes, I was impressed by that one too.
This one made me cry– at the risk of tending into too much personal disclosure, I started my perfume journey a couple of months into a really low streak for me- Perfume was a sensual pleasure that I could enjoy even at my darkest, and no matter what side effects the next drug cocktail decided to throw at me. I hadn’t seen this article before, I’m glad to have read it.
Love Thomas, but this hairy chested fumes post had eluded me. The Candy Perfume Boy is awesome!
Another vote for Laurin’s piece. Check it out! Do you know if there is a US prize for writing about fragrance? Or international? Thanks!
Pretty sure there is a Jasmine Awards program in France? But not positive. The US Fragrance Foundation used to do journalism awards as part of their awards program, and they used to include blogs as well. Not sure if they’re still doing that or not.
@Pimientas There’s the PerfumePlume who do awards for US writing (http://www.perfumedplume.com)
Thank you!
