Ermenegildo Zegna will launch the Essenze Spice collection, a new trio of fragrances. Bourbon Vanilla, Indian Spice and Persian Saffron join the Essenze by Ermenegildo Zegna collection for men.
Bourbon Vanilla ~ "Like your favorite nightcap, the warm, familiar aroma of Vanilla bean mixes with bold vetiver and ginger to create a full-bodied cocktail of temptation. Middle notes of Cassis, Cypriol and Turkish Rose add an alluring freshness to match the modernity of the Zegna man."
Indian Spice ~ "Cardamom, coriander and star anise top notes create electrifying warmth in this unique gourmand blend, bringing to life the exoticism of Madurai and the beaches of Goa. The floral heart of the fragrance, resting on the masculine, woody base of cedarwood, oud and patchouli take your senses to new places of savory adventure."
Persian Saffron ~ "Dynastic, powerful, effervescent – let this piquant scent surround and consume you. Top notes of Zegna’s cultivated bergamot blend middle notes of the most valuable spice in the world, Saffron, to illuminate the senses."
Ermenegildo Zegna Essenze Spice Collection Bourbon Vanilla, Indian Spice and Persian Saffron will be available in 125 ml.

I like the sound of these, but I am buying the Javanese Patchouli and the Indonesian Oud this week from this series. Fingers crossed that the patchouli is earthy and deep, not clean and whitewashed. Same for the oud, original M7 times a million and I will be happy, haha.
You are buying them unsniffed, I take it? That is brave!
I am hopeful too, Robin, fingers and toes crossed. I may forego the Javanese Patchouli and pick up the Santa Maria Novella Patchouli again since I will be in Soho today anyway for a quick errand. I wore the SMN patcholui for so many years, I get obsessed with it and exclusively wear it, clear a path wherever I go, cause sensations of joy as I approach, or the fear of Hades, lol. I just love earthy, deep, dark patchouli that I remember wearing fondly during the 70’s so it makes me feel so good. I don’t find many quality pure patchouli fragrances anymore. Sad. Remember when real sandalwood was plentiful and delicious? Well, I am probably much older than you so perhaps not.
I don’t know about plentiful, but even when I started smelling perfumes in 2003/2004, there was still plenty of gorgeous sandalwood to smell! Those days are gone.
So sad Robin, so sad. I actually found someone that gets me real Oud and real sandalwood, but it’s such a tiny amount I use it up so quickly, I find myself constantly buying more. Since quality oud is not difficult to find in the niche market now I am pretty good with oud, but sandalwood, pure sandalwood, not so much. Funny thing, I purchased Samasara again for the first time since the early 90’s and it really does smell like a ‘quality enough’ sandalwood so I just purchased another bottle. Curious to know your thoughts on Samsara, which was the last ‘new’ Guerlain that I have liked.
I never loved Samsara, but it has been so many years since I tried it that I can’t even remember why. I should try it again.
But purely by coincidence, had just seen this a little bit ago:
