Guerlain will launch Rosa Fizz, a travel retail exclusive fragrance in the Aqua Allegoria range. Last year's model was Rosa Pop; this year's "regular" Aqua Allegoria will be Bergamote Calabria.
Guerlain expands its famous Aqua Allegoria series with Rosa Fizz, a delightful scent that brings around a definite whiff of summer as it sings to the tune of the Aqua Allegoria, veritable olfactory hymns to nature.
The Aqua Allegoria Rosa Fizz is an amazing marriage of flowers and fruits. The constantly revised queen of flowers unexpectedly encounters litchis, blackcurrants and mandarins. The heady, sweet fruit bring a touch of acidity to the heart of the scent, where peonies and plums bow to the altar of the rose. The trail ends on a base note of sandalwood, white musk and benzoin.
Guerlain Rosa Fizz will debut later this month, and will be available in 75 ml Eau de Toilette.

That just reads as “sugary sweet fruity-floral” to me and something about the word “fizz” immediately raised a red flag. I’m not keen on the word “fizz” for labeling a perfume. If it’s got aldehydes… then maybe.
I did not try last year’s Rosa Pop (actually, been some years since I tried the duty free AA) so no idea what I would expect. Did think Fizz was maybe a cute followup to Pop, but then I like fizzy fragrances and there aren’t all that many of them.
FWIW I thought Rosa Pop smelled exactly like you would expect it to smell: very sweet bubblegum florals at the start with more clean jasmine than rose to my nose. Not awful, but one doesn’t need a duty free to find a decent sweet fruity floral.
That’s about what I’d expect!
Well, based on this description, I am much more interested in Bergamote Calabria.
I guess that we will hear about it soon or later.
I am probably not interested in either — from what I read at Monsieur Guerlain, sounds like BC will have too much white musk for my taste.

But should add that that’s true for me of nearly every modern Guerlain release — others will surely like it better 🙂
If Sylvaine Delacourte has begun her own “musk” line, I wonder if that will mean that there’ll be less in Guerlain’s repertoire now. Hope so!
It has occurred to me that Escada began the summer limited edition (if not all!) marketing ploy. Will their editions and Guerlain’s Aquas ever end? Not if they’re making money, I expect.
I like the name of this fragrance and I like the notes that are included in this scent. I’m wondering if its as sweet as “Pulp” – which I enjoy immensely. Can’t wait to try this one!
