Jared Leto, Julia Hafstrom and Vera Van Erp having "an intimate experience" (possibly NSFW) in Venice for the new Gucci Guilty campaign. This is the director's cut (Glen Luchford) — if 2 1/2 minutes is more than you are willing to invest, the 30 second version is below the jump. (And if even 30 seconds is too much, the print ad is at the bottom of the post, and it pretty much sums up the whole thing.)
I looked at the print ad, and then I HAD to watch the video. Honestly, as a consumer, I find this ad incredibly insulting. I understand that perfume ads want to associate with fantasy, but this fantasy is ridiculous, and, again insulting.
I did not find it insulting, but did think it was a huge waste of Venice, and being in a hotel room with Jared Leto and another woman is not part of my own fantasy leanings.
I personally love the video (with its atmosphere, the colours, the filming), and I found the print ad very elegant and classy.
Pity, it’s used for a perfume I dislike with a bottle (for the male version) completely dull.
The colors are fantastic — wish they’d done more out in the city! Agree the fragrance is way too dull for the commercial.
LOVE Both of the fragrances (The Men’s is a personal Favorite) Yet the commercial… Please someone pass me a Hatchet so I can bash it into my own face! What TWADDLE! Jared Leto is so absurdly anodyne and unappealing in so many ways… URGH!! And so cheaply copying Visconti by using the Adagio of the Mahler 5th as the soundtrack…
Bye, Gucci Girl, BYE!
Hey, we agree on something — Jared Leto!
LMAO! 😀 Agreed! <3
Yes, the Death in Venice reference is very obvious and forced. And yet I enjoyed looking at the ad very much.
I would support a scent ad featuring Amy Schumer tussling with Idris Elba and Jason Momoa.
🙂
Skip Amy Schumer and just let Idris and Momoa Rassle it out! WOOF! 😉
