Lancôme has launched Les Parfums Grands Crus, a collection of six fragrances honoring Armand PetitJean, the brand's founder. The series includes three new florals (Lavandes Trianon, Jasmins Marzipane and Tubéreuses Castane) and three ouds, one new (Ôud Ambroisie) and two relaunches (Ôud Bouquet and L'Autre Ôud).
Lavandes Trianon ~ a fresh gourmand developed by perfumers Olivier Gillotin and Shyamala Maisondieu. "Pairing two French lavender flowers from Drôme Provencale, fresh sparkling notes of fine lavender essence combine with the balsamic scent of lavender absolute, softened by a crystallised vanilla signature."
Jasmins Marzipane ~ a woody white floral developed by perfumer Dominique Ropion. "Lancôme’s Jasmin Marzipane Eau de Parfum is the assemblage of two natural jasmines, hand-picked flower by flower and wrapped in an almondy-woods signature. Pairing a bursting light of sambac jasmine absolute, picked at dawn at the beginning of the harvest season with grandiflorum jasmine absolute from the summer’s last harvests, the floral fragrance finally reveals beautifully soft, leathery accents." Additional notes include vanilla, cashmeran and sandalwood.
Tubéreuses Castane ~ a gourmand white floral developed by perfumer Shyamala Maisondieu. "...an assemblage of delightful tuberose flowers wrapped in the heat of an intense roasted chestnut signature. The tuberose absolute is harvested at night when the flower’s scent is at its most intense. This intensity is revealed through the light freshness of a tuberose distillate." Additional notes include tonka bean.
Ôud Ambroisie (shown just above) ~ developed by perfumer Ilias Ermenidis. "Featuring a trio of woods selected from three continents with a honey rose signature, Lancôme Oud Ambroisie blends oud wood aged for twenty years, the leathery scent of cedarwood and exquisite facets of patchouli."
Ôud Bouquet (2014) and L'Autre Ôud (2013) are reissues.
Lancôme Les Parfums Grands Crus are available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum at Harrods in the UK, £145 - £160.

Tubereuse Castane sounds really interesting, omg!!
They all do. But there are too many of them 🙂
Are chestnuts Having a Moment? I seem to see them referenced much more often than I did even three years ago – not just in perfume, I mean, but in general.
You know, could be — I just haven’t noticed. Probably not paying enough attention.
Surely, if these ever see the light of day in the US, they’ll be kept under the counter like contraband – similar to the treatment of their Cuir and others a few years back.
Probably. Or they won’t come here at all.
My favorite bottles for this year so far!
Probably have to wait until I get to smell these, but Jazmine Marzipane sounds delish.
