Oscar de la Renta has launched Oscar Velvet Noir, a new fragrance for women. Oscar Velvet Noir is a flanker to 1977's Oscar, and follows 2015's Oscar Flor.
The opening aroma blends sumptuous accents of Ginger Crystal with a luminous combination of Tunisian Orange Flower and delicate Jasmine. Intoxicating notes of Turkish Rose, Velvet Violet and Osmanthus envelop the heart of this hand-crafted scent, while hypnotic nuances of Cashmere Musk and sensuous Amber leave a lasting aura of time-honored luxury.
Oscar de la Renta Oscar Velvet Noir can be found now at Lord & Taylor, $92 for 100 ml Eau de Parfum.

“Hand-crafted scent” is a new one. What exactly is it supposed to mean in this context? That it wasn’t designed by a computer algorithm? That an actual human being poured the ingredients into the vat manually?
You took the words right out of my mouth!
LOL — true, it makes no sense. Real humans picked the cashmere musk in the fields?
I wonder how they hand-crafted the ginger crystals. The mind boggles.
The original Oscar de la Renta was a very memorable fragrance. I’ve seem it described as a Tuberose perfume, but I see it more like an updated L’Heure Bleue. Leonard’s Balehé was in a similar vein
