Indie brand Fiele Fragrances has launched Santalum, a new sandalwood fragrance.
Inspiration: Sandalwood has been used since ancient times as incense for spiritual practices. It is known for its beautiful fragrance and calming, grounding effects. Emotionally, it can help instill a sense of inner peace, while also being considered an aphrodisiac.
Interpretation: Our S A N T A L U M comes from Santalum Austrocaledonicum, a plantation grown, sustainable species of sandalwood from New Caledonia. The essential oil is rich in Santalol, the constituent that gives Sandalwood its prized aroma. The scent is warm and cozy, with rich floral notes and a sweet, creamy drydown.
Additional notes include bergamot, jasmine, orris, tobacco, patchouli, cedar, agarwood, espresso, vanilla, tonka bean and musk.
Fiele Fragrances Santalum is $85 for 50 ml Eau de Parfum.

I will try this one because the other fragrances in the line are all so well done, but a little too similar to other things out there for me purchase. However, as I love all things Sandalwood, I will absolutely pick this one up unsniffed. The Urban Outfitters concept collaboration store carries the full fragrance line for Fiele so I’ll check pop in to give this a go this weekend.
I think it is just launching…you might want to wait a few weeks!
My SOTD is Pogostemon in honor of this new launch. I have really enjoyed this purchase and it is transitioning nicely from summer to fall.
