Terry de Gunzburg has launched Ombre Mercure Extrême, a new flanker to 2012's Ombre Mercure.
Ombre Mercure Extreme is an extravagant addition to the Terry de Gunzburg collection.
This new and intriguing Extrait de Parfum is like an olfactory fantasy, it is more than an Eau de Parfum it is surprising, supple and a reinvention to the original Ombre Mercure which has been presented in a new Art Deco- inspired bottle.
The fragrance has fiery notes of bergamot, followed by an essence of violet leaves. The heart of the fragrance is shimmering notes of noble iris, followed by notes of patchouli and benzoin. This beautiful fragrance covers the skin like a veil with is woody and powdery notes.
Terry de Gunzburg Ombre Mercure Extrême is available now at Harrods, £235 for 100 ml Extrait de Parfum.

I’ll never understand 100 mL of extrait. An ounce seems like a massive luxury, and a quarter ounce always seemed like the perfect size to me.
The old style 15 or 20 ml Extrait assumed the use of luxury materials and a depth that made it more sensible to dab rather than spray. So agree that 100 ml is too big (for anything, IMHO) but the old rules no longer apply much of the time.
You are completely right, of course. But you and I also agree that EVERYTHING should be available as a 15-mL spray, preferably in a coffret where applicable, right?
Absolutely! It is nice that so many more fragrances are now available in small sizes, but SO wish they were not mostly in rollerballs. And niche is way behind on the small sizes…
