French niche line By Kilian has launched Lemon in Zest, a new fragrance for the brand's boutique in Lugano, Switzerland. Lemon in Zest was inspired by Limoncello, and follows prior exclusives Apple Brandy (for New York City) and Vodka on the Rocks (for Moscow) and Single Malt (for London).
Created in order to celebrate the opening of his KILIAN boutique in LUGANO, Switzerland, LEMON IN ZEST is a unique fresh harmony.
The fragrance opens with the brightness of the mandarine and the zest of the lemon from Italy. The citrus opening is then warmed by the sensuality of vanilla from New Guinea and the syrupy facet of orange brandy. The drydown is reinforced by powerful notes of patchouli from Indonesia and vetiver from Haiti.
By Kilian Lemon in Zest is €235 for 50 ml.

This sounds really good!
Agree.
Not the biggest fan of citrus scents..though it does sound yummy some
I love citrus 🙂
But the name!!!
In zest? It may have been named in jest, but it sounds inter-family to me!
The name is probably an homage to the famous Serge Gainsbourg song, but I still don’t like it.
The NOTES, however, are a much different story. I’ll have to give it a try!
Ohhhhh yahhh… that’s a creepy song too… I am sure you are correct though. A pun once, is a pun twice!
OaklandZest, are you from the Bay Area? 🙂
This sounds really good! I hope they have a tester or perhaps even sell them at the NY boutique.
Yes, I wish I knew how exclusive these exclusives are. Of course it’s the NYC one that interests me least.
Saks has them and I just bought a bottle for the staggering price the line charges. So I had to like it. A lot. I live in Phoenix, and 115º is not all that uncommon–we’ve had several of those days, and it’s only June. This is a wonderful hot weather fragrance. It’s not sweet, and on me (ymmv) not cleaning-product-like, either.
It’s dry, has a slight oceanic waft threading through it, and I can wear it in an airplane. (Reasonable sillage). I didn’t spritz heavily, and don’t want to.
My other summer fragrance is Osmanthe Yunnan, which I love unreasonably. Now I have a choice!
