Yves Saint Laurent has launched Magnificent Blossom, a new limited edition fragrance. Magnificent Blossom joins the Oriental Collection, which already includes Noble Leather, Supreme Bouquet, Majestic Rose and Splendid Wood.
Yves Saint Laurent has drawn its inspiration from the splendours of the East to give birth to an exceptional collection. In honour of its creator and his never-ending passion for the elsewhere, the oriental collection celebrates the mysteries and refinement of a land of infinite richness.
Magnificent Blossom opens with a dazzling flourish of sublimely tempered jasmine sambac, interwoven with sister florals orange blossom and ylang ylang and accompanied by a spicy saffron accord. The journey continues through swathes of bergamot and mandarin, before alighting upon a masterfully orchestrated chypre base of patchouli essence and bewitching amyris wood.
The fragrance is housed in an incomparable bottle laced in gold with the YSL moucharabieh lattice, behind which the amber juice emits its radiant glow. The bottle is set in an Art Deco-inspired black lacquer case bearing the hallmark of opulence and refinement – Yves Saint Laurent.
Yves Saint Laurent Magnificent Blossom is available now at Harrods, in 80 ml Eau de Parfum for £250.

I haven’t tried any from the oriental collection- thought?
I haven’t either!
I didn’t even know it existed! Wonder where besides Harrod’s carries it. At least as pictured here, I dig the bottle…
Saks carries the others. I saw a couple at my local Saks on Saturday. But the SAs were so pushy that I didn’t get to sample them.
I’m sorry! Pushy SA’s are the bane of our perfumed lives…
Not that it matters but to my eye that is a VERY masculine-looking bottle: I know they’re using that same stacked-cube bottle for a subset of their launches, but that one in particular reads men’s fragrance. If the latest L’Homme flanker had been packaged in it I wouldn’t have been a bit surprised.
I think that’s precisely because they want men to buy them too…
“Sister Florals” coming this fall on TLC.
Ha!
This is somewhat related: Just saw “Saint Laurent” , the Bonello film, and it covers the creation of that infamous nude ad of Yves and the conception and launch of Opium for any interested.
This sounds really lovely. It makes me want to wear Tom Ford Jasmin Rouge!
