Interesting article – I have a friend of many years’ standing who lives near Houston, & in the 90s her signature scent was Giorgio (not a favourite of mine!); over time she worked for companies who did not allow strong perfume to be worn, so I gave her a Penhaligon’s ‘Scent Library’ which was deemed acceptable & more recently the Ormonde Jayne sample set, which was also OK. Her fragrance preferences have changed over the years, possibly due to me taking her shopping whenever I visit, & her husband always has extremely complimentary things to say about fragrances I wear when I stay with them – he went mad for MH’s Fleurs de Bois one year!
I am likewise happy Giorgio is no longer in fashion 🙂
I’m enjoying lighter fragrances, too. I have always loved cologne, citrus, and aromatic fragrances. I’m always finding more to enjoy in these categories. I’ve wondered if there are more out there to try, or if I’m having better luck at finding them. It is interesting to hear how trends in scent behaviors are changing.
There is more of everything to try!
