Oscar de la Renta will launch Extraordinary, a new perfume for women, this month. It will be the brand's last fragrance under the personal direction of Oscar de la Renta, who passed away last year.
Extraordinary was developed by perfumers Pascal Gaurin and Bruno Jovanovic. The notes feature citrus, neroli, peony, rose and amber.
Oscar de la Renta Extraordinary will be available in 40 and 90 ml Eau de Parfum and in a rollerball.

Update: the description at Macys — "Dare to be Extraordinary. Experience the new Oscar de la Renta fragrance that captivates and illuminates. The floral scent bursts with sparkling lush neroli and dewy cherry blossom with a finale of seductive blond wood, warm amber resin and rich vanilla orchid, guaranteed to steal the show. The star-shaped bottle is handcrafted and topped with a rose gold cap, making it the perfect accessory for your fragrance wardrobe." Additional notes include peony, rose, magnolia and blonde woods. ($58 for 40 ml)
I wore the original Oscar de La Renta back in high school…it was gorgeous! Other than that one I have never worn another Oscar….wish I had some of the original for I could wear it on BWF week!
The notes of Extraordinary sound good and I also like the bottle…wonder if my local Sephora will be carrying it so I can sample.
I don’t know if it will get there eventually, but the starting stores are Macy’s, Belk, Dillard’s and Lord & Taylor.
I pine for the original, too – I wore it when I was younger (thought not during my schooldays!) – it was my first real ‘niche’ fragrance, as back then my Dad used to buy it from Fortnum & Mason & send it to me – only F&M, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Selfridges & Liberty stocked it.
Nice bottle!
