Oud: returning after a short absence, this note delivers a rich, musty, woody-nutty scent to create a sultry Middle Eastern backdrop to compositions.
— From Seven Predicts Fragrance Trends for 2015/16 at GCI Magazine. I was initially confused about the "short absence", but since these trend predictions are for next winter, perhaps this means oud will take a well-deserved vacation in the early part of 2015.
It’s a short commercial break. You know— just long enough to use the bathroom and get some more chips and salsa
That must be it! After all, I haven’t announced a new oud fragrance since yesterday.
Their other 2 trend predictions are rose and leather, so looks like 2015 will be pretty much the same as 2014.
“…perhaps this means oud will take a well-deserved vacation in the early part of 2015.” One can only hope.
Hope springs eternal! Of course, I may like the “next new thing” even less 🙂
