The notes don’t sound bad, but the name has a negative connotation over here “Bench 24-7” reminds me of a guy on an athletic team who gets no playing time – just sits on the bench the whole time. It’s the punch line to the old joke, “I played on my HS basketball team…the coach thought that I was best at keeping the bench warm.”

I think they make lots of hoodies & such, and came out of the skateboarding “scene” in the UK, so guessing the name Bench is probably from skate bench? So maybe it has a very different connotation to young people.

That’s probably the case I’m not familiar with the brand. Language is in a constant state of flux. I like bergamot and grapefruit! Maybe it’s a winning combination.

Could be, but I’m sure I’ll never smell it 🙂

When I saw Bench in London, I though they were the same company as Desigual since the logo is in the same font 🙂

And they’re probably after about the same target market.

That’s the problem when a brand chooses Helvetica to base their entire identity on. Kinda hard to grow some strong visual brand equity.

There’s a popular clothing chain here in the Philippines called Bench, too, which is unrelated. At least this time, the Philippines isn’t the copycat as our Bench started two years earlier.
