What is it: a 100 ml bottle of Aedes de Venustas Oeillet Bengale, unopened.
How do I get it: For a chance to win, leave a comment on the website telling me that you live in the US. Then tell me either a) your favorite Aedes fragrance or b) your favorite carnation fragrance or c) something else you've been dying to post in a comment.

The contest will be open until noon or so on Friday, and I'll announce the winner over the weekend.
The fine print: Don't enter the contest unless I have permission to use the email address in your reader account to contact you. If the email address in your reader account is incorrect, you might want to fix it. If you are the winner and you fail to send me your mailing details within a couple weeks, I’ll give your prize away to someone else. Sadly, it sometimes usually takes me a month to mail a package. Reasonable care will be taken in the packaging and mailing of your prize, but if the contents are lost or damaged or fail to please you for any reason whatsoever, I’m sorry but I cannot replace them.
I live in the US. Favorite carnation fragrance: Floris Malmaison.
Thanks for the draw. I live in the USA.
I do not have a carnation fragrance. I did grow up in a rural town in CA that grew them for the flower market. They were in hedges everywhere. I think our town supplied a lot of boutonnieres for high school proms. 🙂
I live in the United States. Most carnations are often bred to be scentless. I guess this is done so that sprayed carnations can be used by teenagers for the lapels of their tuxedos for prom night.
However, I have read that there is a carnation note somewhere in L’Heure Bleu, so that is my favorite carnation note. I look forward to sniffing Aedes’ version.
I live in the USA.
Favorite carnation, which has gotten me on a kick to explore other carnation scents, is Rose Rebelle Respawn by A Lab on Fire. I just adore this fragrance, but it doesn’t last long enough on me.
Thanks for the ‘up for grab’!
I live in USA. I am very fond of Adedes de Venustas Iris Nazarena, although i expected it to be dirtier. My favourite carnation is Dolce & Gabbana Velvet Love, a wonderful carnation with ylang. Very worth the price. Very looking forward to smell Oeillet Bengale!
I live in the USA and my favorite carnation to date is Floris Malmaison. Thanks so much for this opportunity!
I live in the US. So far the only Aedes fragrance I have tried is the L’Artisan version, which is lovely. I like Etro Dianthus, but prefer to wear small amounts of it in much cooler weather, it is quite the sillage monster on me. 🙂
Thanks as always for the giveaways!
Hi! I live in the US. I don’t know many carnation scents, but I do like Estee Lauder Spellbound. Thanks for this opportunity! 🙂
I don’t have a favorite carnation fragrance, although I do love the flower scent. I have never tried any Aedes. But I do love that bottle!
I live in the US.
Hi Robin. I live in the U.S. Although I have never tried an Aedes fragrance or a fragrance with carnations in it, I would love to try this one. One of my New Years Resolutions this year was to be open to new fragrances and broaden my horizons with new fragrances I normally wouldn’t try. Through this drawing, this is giving me an opportunity to continue that. Thanks for the opportunity!
I live in the US.
Your favorite Aedes fragrance? LOVE Iris Nazarena
Thanks!
I live in the US, and I’m on a carnation kick. Thanks for having the draw and a chance to win. I love the Aedes EdP (the rhubarb one). Be well!
I live in the US,
My favorite carnation is Comme des Garcons Carnation.
Thank you! I live in the U.S. The only Aedes I’ve tried is Iris Nazarena, which I think is just beautiful.
San Francisco, CA!
I love the freshness of carnations, esp Fragonard Billet Doux.
I live in the US. I love Aedes’ Iris Nazarena.
Thank you for the draw! I live in the U.S. My favorite Aedes fragrance (and one of my favorite fragrances, period) is Iris Nazarena, although the first one was also pretty great!
I live in the US. I’ve never tried an Aedes fragrance, but I’d love to! (That would be my “dying to post in the comments” comment. :))
I live in the U.S. and my favorite carnation fragrance so far is Oriza L. Legrand Oeillet Louis XV.
I live in the US. I love DSH oeillets Rouge. Sadly it has very little lasting power. I get some carnation from Shanghai Lilly by Tom Ford.
Carnation is my fave note! What a nice away, Robin! I love many carnation scents, Bellodiga, Potion, Cartier Convoitee, Tabac Blond, Blue Carnation, really like Beautiful for the carnation note, D&G Velvet Love, which is a peppery carnation as opposed to a clovey carnation and still love it even though there are less cloves and +1 for Spellbound! It’s hard to pick a fave as I pretty much love all carnation scents!
I live in the U.S.
Hi,
I live in the U.S. My favorite carnation scent would be Bellodgia.
Does Lush Ibiza Party Shampoo count? If not, then my favorite carnation is l’Heure Convoitee, my favorite Aedes is this one and I live in the US
I live in the US. My favorite Aedes scent is the original by L’Artisan. Their candles are also very pretty. Thank you for the giveaway, Robin!
I live in the United States and Carnation is one of my favorite notes. I’ve loved Caron’s Bellodgia for years as a rose/carnation fragrance but have come to appreciate Labosserie Carnation as a soliflore. I would love to try Aedes de Venustas Oeilet Bengale!
I’m in the US, and my favorite perfume with carnation is vintage Opium. I’ll have to check out some of the frags mentioned above; I’ve only tried a couple of them.
Favorite carnation scents: Blue Carnation, Bellodgia and L’Air du Temp – sadly all back in the day as they’re either discontinued or reformulated beyond recognition.
I live in the U. S. (but wouldn’t mind living in Tuscany 😉 )
A big thank-you for the give away!
Live in HI, USA. Learning a lot about fragrances with carnation reading the comments. I only have one, Lorenzo Villoresi Garafano, and boy, does it last. Wasn’t sure how it would wear in the heat and humidity when I moved here. Truly, an oasis of carnation. Just when you need it.
Oooh, how exciting! I’ve never tried any of the Aedes scents, and I’ve been dying to.
I live in the US and my favorite carnation scent is Smell Bent’s Prairie Nymph. Thanks for the giveaway!
I live in the U.S. and my favorite (and only) Aedes frag is Eau de Parfum. It’s an amazing summer scent but only lasts a few hours on me.
I live in the U.S. Favorite carnation : Caron Poivre (though I really love JAR Diamond Water when I sniffed it ages ago.)
I live in the US and i really like Aedes for L’Artisan and their signature scent. I’d love to win this one. Thanks for the cool draw.
I live in the U.S. and my favorite Aedes fragrance is Iris Nazarena.
Thank you for the draw!
I live in the USA and my favorite carnation is Golconda by Joel Arthur Rosenthal.
I live in the US, and my favorite carnation is Florabotanica by Balenciaga. Fingers crossed, and thank you!
I’m in the US. My favorite carnation is Nina Ricci vintage L’Air du Temps
Hi there, thanks for the draw! I live in the United States, and I’m intrigued by this one. My favorite carnation is Oeillet Rouge by DSH.
Wow, what a great draw! I live inthe US and my favorite Aedes perfume is the rhubarb/incense one.
Thanks for the draw! I live in the US.
I’ve been wanting to share about my lovely afternoon learning about perfume making with Meredith at Sweet Anthem. We spent a couple hours talking fragrance and testing individual accords. It was really interesting to smell JUST vetiver, and JUST osmanthus. Then I started putting together base, heart and head notes. It was so much fun and I really felt like I was creating something magical. I ended up combining tobacco, peony, and tomato leaf perfume oil. It does sound like a strange combination, but I think it will be beautiful and interesting. I’m letting it brew for a week and then will be able to wear it…very exciting!
I live in the US. My favorite Aedes fragrance is the original L’Artisan one.
I do live in the U.S. and I’ve liked both of the Aedes fragrances I’ve smelled, the edp and the iris! Very impressed, looking forward to trying this one, one way or another!
Hi, I live in the US! I’ve never tried a carnation-based fragrance or an Aedes fragrance, but I’m dying to!
Please enter me! 🙂
Hi Robin, I live in the U.S!
I don’t think I have sniffed any carnation scents yet, so I do not have a favorite one. However, this bottle is very pretty, and I would like to try a carnation creation.
🙂
Thanks for the draw!
Hi Robin,
I live in the US. My favorite Aedes de Venustas perfume is Iris Nazarena. I haven’t smelled too many carnation fragrances, but Santa Maria Novella makes a gorgeous carnation soap that I love. Thank you for the draw.
I live in the U.S. and have been dying to try this!! I just love carnation scents. I have Garofano by Santa Maria Novella, which is special because I bought it at the original shop in Florence, but my favorite so far is Oeillets Rouges by Dawn Spencer Hurwitz. I was also so excited recently to purchase a “Pink Carnation” Yankee Candle during their semi-annual clearance sale!
Thank you for the chance to win this perfume.
I live in the US. I didn’t realize that carnations have a scent. I remember making blue carnations in elementary school by sticking white carnations in blue dye.
I live in the US, and I’d love to try this. So far the only Aedes fragrance I’ve tried is the original one with the rhubarb note. I’ve also really been wanting to try Iris Nazarena. I can’t say that I’ve tried that many carnation scents, but I like Blue Carnation, and I liked the carnation note in CdG Stephen Jones.
I live in the US. My favorite carnation is Bellodgia. But that’s because it’s the only one I know of. My mom still wears the vintage extrait as her special occasion scent.
Thank you for the draw! It’s been awhile, I’m glad you’re still doing these.
I live in the U.S. and my favorite scent featuring prominent carnation is Une Fleur de Cassie. Would love to try this one!
Wow, what a giveaway! I just tried this fragrance last week when I was in New York and it is gorgeous. Yes, I live in the US. My favorite carnation is vintage Bellodgia extrait, but I’m always on the hunt for more carnation fragrances kind of like Goldilocks because so far there has been nothing else that’s quite right. That’s why I intentionally went to Aedes last week to check this one out, and if I was an impulse shopper, I would have bought it.
SWEET! I’m trying to think what perfumes I love have carnation in them. Youth Dew? Opium? L’Heure Bleue? I’ve tried Bellodgia, but it goes all pomander on me sadly. Oh, and I live in the US.
I live in the US and my favorite Aedes scent is Iris Nazarena. What a great giveaway.
I live in the US, and my favorite carnation (so far) has been the older version of Floris Malmaison. Thanks!
I live in the US! I love Aedes’ Signature scent (the rhubarb one)… but mostly I adore these bottles. Thanks for the giveaway!
I live the US, my favorite carnation frag is Oiellet Rouge from DSH. I do love the carnation part of Derby too.
Thanks
I live in the USA and I like Floris Malmaison. I also like the first Aedes fragrance because of the rhubarb note – YUM!
I’m in the US, and I’d go with Bellodgia. Thx!
I live in the U.S. & my favorite carnation fragrance is JAR Golconda. CDG Red series Carnation is also a great carnation fragrance & my 2nd fave.
Thanks for this awesome giveaway!
i live in the US and my favorite carnation is vintage Maja. Thanks for the giveaway.
I live in the U.S.A. and you have permission to use my email account. Thank you for the drawing, Robin!
My favourite Aedes scent is the L’Artisan version created by Bertrand Duchaufour. I love incense scents!
Carnation is so tricky because I want it to be lush and sweet, but I also like fragrances that take it to the next level, and I haven’t found it with the carnation. I love CDG Series 2, but I find it very literal. Wish I could have smelled the vintage Blue Carnation, and Bellodgia. They must have been amazing. Gotta try the Rose Rebelle and Velvet Love. Thanks for the draw, and I live in the US.
I live in the US, and treasure the 2-3 drops of Floris Malmaison that I have left. I also love the carnation note in Fendi’s Asja.
I live in the US !
My fave carnation has been many but I guess out of all JAR Golconda.
And yes, I am back . : D
Thanks for the draw !
San Diego, CA resident – I love Iris Nazarena, would love to win the Oeillet Bengale! Thanks for the draw.
I live in the US. My favorite carnation fragrance is the long-discontinued Roger & Gallet Blue Carnation, but I also love Bellodgia. Thanks for the draw!
Thank you for this amazing giveaway!!! I live in the US!
My favourite carnation fragrance has to be YSL’s Opium. I haven’t tried many carnation based fragrances but from the ones I have, this is it. The rich, spiciness and warm of the fragrance and the presence that it has is very beautiful.
I would really love to try Guerlain’s Terracotta Voile d’Ete (suppose to be another fantastic carnation) but I haven’t the luck to encounter one.
Thank you!
I live in the U.S., and I have never tried a carnation fragrance! I’m intrigued! Thanks for having the draw. 🙂
live in the US. Thanks for the draw – love all the Aedes fragrance , esp Iris Nazarena
I live in the US and love the L’Artisian Aedes fragrance. It’s the only one I have smelled. I would love to sniff another! Thank you!
I Live In the U.S. and I sadly haven’t smelled any of the Aedes Fragrances, My Favorite Carnation Fragrance would be Either Sun Moon Stars by Karl Lagerfeld or Opium…
I live in the U.S. and love the scent of carnations; my favorite carnation fragrance is JAR Golconda, followed by vintage Bellodgia.
I live in the United States. My favorite carnation perfume is JAR Golconda. The one time I was fortunate enough to wear it I felt as if I was floating on air the whole day.
I am in the US, and I do not have a favorite carnation perfume but I do love incense notes in a perfume! I also love purple 🙂 Thank you for the generous giveaway!
I live in the US and I don’t have a favorite Aedes fragrance but I am dying to try this one! I think my favorite carnation fragrance is just carnations.
I live in the US and I don’t have a favorite Aedes or carnation scent, but this sounds promising! Thanks for the draw.
I live in the US, and my favorite carnation scent is Nuit de Noel. At least, I read on basenotes that it had carnation. Although, if Tabac Blond is also a carnation (is it? who knew! I always think of it as tobacco and leather sexiness) that’s my favorite. Whenever I think of carnations, I think of that scene in Sex and the City when Burger breaks up with Carrie by leaving her carnations. I’d love a new perfume to replace that as my main carnation association!
Ooh, I’m in the US… thanks for the draw, NST!
Robin, I have to tell you that this site was the first one I came across as I discovered the perfume blog community, and one of the reasons I fell down the rabbit hole. To this day it remains my favorite. Thank you for the many (countless?) happily spent hours!
What a generous giveaway! I’m in the U.S. My favorite carnation is Prada No. 2 Oeillet, followed closely by CdG Red Carnation which I will probably buy even though a full wearing lasts all of 30 minutes.
I live in the US. Only carnation I’ve tried is the CdG Red Carnation, which is lovely to start, but goes away too fast!
I live in the U.S. I have never tried an Aedes fragrance, but my favorite carnation fragrance is L’Air du Temps. Thanks for the drawing!
My favorite is Aedes de Venustas by L’Artisan Parfumeur. Real carnation love = vintage L’Air du Temps EdP by Nina Ricci
Oh and I live in the US
I live in the USA. My favorite carnation scent is Balenciaga Paris.
I live in the US. This may be a bit of a cheat, but I love Ineke Sweet William (a carnation cousin)! It makes me happy whenever I smell it. Thank you for the generous draw!
I live in the US and my favorite Carnation scents are vintage Opium,Norell,L’ air du Temps, Spellbound, and Wind Song. I’d love to try something by Aedes .
I do live in the US, and I love the smell of carnations.
When I was a child, my grandmother let me share her carnation scented perfume solid and perfumed moisturizing cream. I have no idea where she bought those, my guess is that they were from the drugstore or Avon.
Today, I love an old bottle of L’air du Temps. I don’t wear it, but I use it on a handkerchief I keep in my handbag. When I open the bag, it smells wonderful and spicy, as though there are carnations hiding inside. (And it blends well with the smell of leather, too.)
My favorite carnation is the old YSL Opium and I like Aedes Iris Nazarena (haven’t sampled the other Aedes yet). Yes, I live in the U.S., in California. Wow, thanks for the draw, its exciting!
Ohhh, I love me some carnation! So spicy and stemmy and rich and green all at once. I’ve been eager to try this one — I enjoyed the Aedes Signature, the rhubarby-tomato leafy one. And the carnation in Apres L’Ondee and L’Heure Bleue sing to me. And yes, I live in the US!
I live in the US 🙂 Carnation is a note in two of my all-time favorites, Gucci Pour Homme and JHL!
I live in California and wear Garafano by Villoresi for my carnation fix. Thanks for the drawing 🙂
Hi, Robin. Thanks for the draw. I live in the US and my favorite Aedes scent so far is Iris Nazarena.
I live in the US.
My favorite Aedes scent is the 2012 edp. I love the rhubarb. It’s a nice (if pricey) soap, too.
Thank you for this draw!
Ooh- I do love a good carnation scent! My favorite used to be Malmaison by Floris but then it was discontinued. Now I wear Lush’s Potion to get my fix but I would love to find another carnation- something really special… I’ve never tried anything from Aedes so I’m very happy for this drawing, please do enter me!! (And I live in USA)
I live in the US.
My favorite Aedes is their 2012 Aedes de Venustas; I am crazy about the rhubarb note! I like several carnation-heavy scents, but my favorite thus far is Dawn Spencer Hurwitz’s gorgeous Oeillets Rouges. Oeillet Bengale is on my test-drive list; it sounds wonderful. Thank you for the opportunity!
I live in the United States. I adore carnation but I gave yet to acquire a favorite. I am on the hunt!
I live in the US. The most recent carnation fragrance I can remember liking immediately is the Florabotanica, which I think is a notch about its more rosy successor, Rosabotanica.
Thanks for the giveaway 🙂
I live in the USA, and I love carnations, but do not have a carnation perfume yet. I read the review of this here a few days ago and thought, I should get that, unsniffed! But winning it would be even better…
I’m in the US and my favorite carnation perfume is Etro Dianthus. Thanks!
I live in the US. My favorite fragrance with carnation as a note would probably be Caron Third Man.
Thanks for the contest!
I live in the USA. My favorite carnation is Bellodgia, my maternal grandmother’s perfume, the fragrance I most associate with her.
I live in the U.S. I haven’t had the pleasure of trying an Aedes fragrance, but my favorite carnation fragrance is L’Air du Temps. Thank you for the drawing!
I live in the US. CdG Series 2 Red Carnation floats my boat …
I live in the US, which means I have no excuse for not trying anything from the Aedes line, save maybe not being able to quite afford one if loved.
I was just thinking the other day that I hadn’t seen a giveaway on here recently.
Thank you for the draw! I live in the U.S. One of my favorite perfumes with carnation is Lorenzo Villoresi Donna. I’d love to try some other fragrances with this note, and Oeillet Bengale sounds beautiful.
Thanks for the draw! I live in the US. My favorite carnation fragrance is vintage Fleurs de Rocaille by Caron.
I live in the U.S. and, yes, you may use my email address to contact me.
Although I love the scent of the dianthus in my garden, I haven’t really explored carnation as a note in fragrances. I do own and occasionally enjoy vintage Nina Ricci L’Air du Temps.
Thank you, Robin, for this wonderful opportunity – the Oeillet Bengale sounds beautiful!
I live in the U.S. My favorite perfume with carnation notes would be JAR Golconda, if only I was willing to pay that much for a scent. Luckily, I was able to try it at the JAR boutique in Bergdorf’s. My other favorite perfume with carnation is vintage YSL Opium, which has sadly been reformulated to it’s death.
I live in the U.S. My favorite carnation scents are Golconda and DSH Fleuriste. I also love the vintage L’Air du Temps parfum. The current L’Air in all formulations is a pale imitation of the classic.
A wonderful drawing and an awesome looking bottle…
I love Aedes Iris Nazarena, but don’t yet own a bottle. Thinking of going for the travel spray soon.
I live in the USA.
Thanks!
Hi! I live in the US. I don’t know many carnation scents, but I recently discovered Theirry Mugler Angel eau Sucree and I’m loving it at this moment. Thanks for this opportunity!
I live in the U.S. and you have permission to send me a bottle of Oeillet Bengale because THAT is my favorite Aedes fragrance!!!
I do live in the U.S.
I don’t have any carnation fragrances, but it’s a note that I’d love to explore. I spotted some carnations in my neighbor’s garden, but I think that wearing a carnation perfume would be much more socially acceptable than skulking around my neighbor’s yard to smell the flowers!
I live in the USA.
I still am head over heels for Aedes’ first EDP – the rhubarb and tomato greens are so perfect in the summer.
I live in the US and i am in love with iris nazarena: second favorite iris after iris silver mist
I live in the US and this might be both my favorite Aedes fragrance and favorite carnation fragrance so far. Thanks for the giveaway!
Thanks so much for the draw! I live in the U.S. and I haven’t really run into any carnation scents, that I know of, but I do love the scent of Roger & Gallet’s Carnation soap.
I live in the US. I love Aedes’ Iris Nazarena. Thanks for the draw!
I live in the US. Carnation isn’t the first thing I notice in Apres L’Ondee and L’Heure Bleue, but I love them both.
Wow, thanks so much, please enter me! I live in the U.S. and you have my permission to contact me at the e-mail address associated with my account. I have been searching for a carnation perfume that I can really love since the ones I have fallen for in the past are not very attainable these days – vintage Caron Bellodgia and Poivre, and most of all the original formula of JAR Golconda, the best one I ever smelled. I have never tried any of the Aedes ragrances but this sounds wonderful!
Oo! I live in the US!
Probably Bellodgia, though for a Caron I don’t wear it often…
Thanks for the draw! I live in the US. About carnations….I grew up in a family owned funeral home and had an early and visceral dislike to many flowers, especially the ones that showed up at funerals… Like carnations! It was not until 5 decades later when I began my own journey into learning about fragrance that the flower, the scent, the combination, the perfumer all transformed into bottles of unadulterated joy. My favorite Aedes was the original, which I wear frequently. But I was able to sample Oeillet earlier this year and fell in love instantly.
I live in the U.S. and you have my permission to use my email adress. Not familiar with Aedes or carnation fragrances however I would love to try one.
i live in the US. Had to search fragrantica for any fragrance with carnation in it, and Fahrenheit was one of the first results, so lets go with that.
I’m abroad now, but I’ve got a US address too if that’s ok 😀 I’m not into carnation perfumes, at all. What else can I say? It’s a hot and very humid summer here in Cairo, and I’ve realised that I’ve got absolutely nothing to wear… Just orientals, patchoulis, ambers that are stiffling in the heat.
Hi Robin – I live in the US and would the opportunity to try this as I am always on a search for the perfect carnation fragrance. Right now, my carnation of chose would be MikMoi’s Aldwych. Thanks again.
I live in good old NYC. My favorite carnation scent is Moschino Pour Homme. So sad that it has been disncontinued and is virtually impossible to find. 🙁
Hi! I live in the U.S. I don’t really know much about carnation scents and haven’t tried any Aedes, but would be excited to try! Thanks for the drawing. Just got back from a Cub Scout campout and my brain feels like Play-Doh.
I live in the U.S. and my favorite carnation fragrance is guerlain Terracotta (the older one)
I live in the U.S. My favorite Aedes is the original one with the rhubarb note, although it took me a while to come around to it. Now I adore it!
Hello Robin! Thank you for the contest. I live in the United States. When I was a teenager in Brooklyn, I wore straight carnation oil from the local heath food store. Later on, I gave Billet Doux a try, but didn’t love it. My greatest carnation love so far has been Guerlain Terracotta Voile d’Ete. I love Aedes (their candle by L’Artisan Parfumeur is a favorite in my home), so I am eager to try this. All the best, Kate aka little_lukos.
I live in the US and my favorite carnation perfume is vintage Caron Poivre. Man, that stuff was great.
My favourite Aedes is probably Iris Nazarena, although itching to try this one!
I live in the US.
I live in the U.S., and I’ve never tried an Aedes scent before. My favorite carnation-heavy scent is Vivienne Westwood’s Boudoir.
Hi Robin. Thanks for the contest. I haven’t tried any Aedes fragrances so far, but there’s a perfume called Black Widow which seems to have a wonderful carnation note amid all the beautiful cloves and incense. It’s gorgeous. Oh, and I live in the U.S.
Longtime reader, first-time commenter! I live in the US. My fave carnation scent is that of the pinks I’m growing in my garden. 🙂 Pinks and carnations are related and I think this gentle spicy scent must be what people are talking about when they discuss the scent of carnations. Thanks for the draw!
