Giorgio Armani has launched Ombre & Lumière (Shadow & Light), a new addition to the limited edition Les Éditions Couture series in the Armani Privé fragrance range. Ombre & Lumière was inspired by Armani's 2014 spring-summer couture collection.
Like the other three scents in the Les Éditions Couture series (La Femme Bleue, La Femme Nacre and Nuances), Ombre & Lumière is based on an iris note. Additional notes include jasmine, bergamot, freesia, ambroxan and musk.
Armani Privé Ombre & Lumière is available in 100 ml Eau de Parfum, €550; 120 numbered bottles were made.

I have always been curious about the Armani Prive line. Those strange, little bottles have intrigued me for a bit. I wonder what other people think of these fragrances. Are they love by many, Robin? Or, are they just overpriced bottles?
Are there only 120 bottles of the Ombre & Lumiere fragrance? Is it not being sold in the U.S.? What are your thoughts, Robin?
There will undoubtedly be a few bottles here. The Armani Prive line is nice, and worth trying, although IMHO overpriced.
I have not tried any of the Editions Couture series, which are even more expensive…and admit I’m not all that interested.
If it’s being sold in the US, Bergdorfs might have it. I remember seeing La Femme Bleue there years ago and they do carry the regular Armani Prive line
That would be a good guess.
Ambroxan – I know it’s used in a lot of perfumes, but it doesn’t really draw me in on a list of notes.
They gave a presentation on this in South Africa…
“guests were interested to hear that unlike most designer fragrances, which consist of between 80 to 150 accords, only 12 to 25 are used to concoct an Armani Privé fragrance. This ensures that only the purest of pure ingredients are used.”
That gave me a good laugh. So fear not, it’s the best of the best Ambroxan.
